it's a moot point in my mind as this will be over today, but I fail to see anyone's logic in backing MA. If he doesn't satisfy the creditors sufficiently, and the EFL, we have a points deductions and a soft-embargo! We lose any asset we have in terms of staff and player, and we get relegated. Anyone in here using the mindset that fans "pay the wages" and should demand respect from any owner, get a grip, you'll get nothing from MA! If you think communications are vital and your mental health has been affected by lack of updates in recent months, do NOT expect anything from MA and his team.
Whilst CK is an unknown factor in terms of how he may or may not succeed as owner, we know how bad MA has been.
Also note that MA never had to rebuild Newcastle when he bought them, he actually got them relegated!

Forgive me for barging in on your messageboard but I come in peace as a Bury fan. I have never posted on another club’s board before, this could be my first and last time.
Firstly, the very best of luck. In cases like this it’s the fans, the innocents in all this, who suffer. We feel your pain, we too have been through the mill and beyond.
Bury FC, the original club, were kicked out of L1 (having just won promotion) by the EFL in late August 2019,  about 3 weeks into the new season, our first half dozen fixtures were postponed so there was no record to expunge. The club was subsequently placed into administration. It remains in administration to this day but is effectively just a shell, awaiting ultimate liquidation with debts of over £12M.
If scenario 1 above had happened we would have been reinstated at tier 6 in the pyramid. It didn’t, scenario 2 happened, and a “Phoenix” club called Bury AFC was formed by the fans and funded by the fans. It was admitted into tier 10 of the pyramid, the lowest level under FA auspices. Last season, the first full covid free season, it won promotion losing only one game. The highest home crowd was 1,885, not huge but enormous in a league where 100 or so is the norm. We ground share with Radcliffe AFC, another non league club within the borough of Bury.
Bury AFC is not of course strictly speaking a Phoenix, but is referred to as such for ease of reference. It carries probably about 60pc of the original fan base. Not everyone has got on board but the majority have. The vibe is brilliant, partly as we are successful on the pitch of course, so never be afraid if this is your fate (it won’t be), you would still have a gas in “non league”, there are so many pluses compared to the EFL which make the match day experience highly enjoyable;  and with your fanbase you would quickly climb back up the pyramid.

A highly unexpected turn of events happened more recently when a very small group of Bury fans emerged from nowhere with no mandate from anyone, but having apparently got strong connections with the Conservative Party. With the help of a wealthy businessman-fan now living in the USA, and with the financial help of the government which has provided up to £1M of matched funding (“levelling up”?), and the potential help of the (Labour) council, that group of fans (calling themselves Est 1885, the date of the founding of the original club) managed to buy the ground Gigg Lane, which had been subject to a charge for a loan of some £3.5M, and had fallen into a state of some disrepair. So Est 1885 have a ground but no football club, and Bury AFC are a football club with no ground (of their own). Talks are ongoing between the two with a view to a merger down the line.
A word about the EFL. Yes as useless as a chocolate teapot but presumably facing the chop or severe reform following the government’s fan-led review. Remember the EFL is in essence the 72 clubs - it gets its power from the clubs, maybe it is useless because the clubs have only ever favoured light-touch regulation of themselves for obvious reasons, so have never given the EFL the powers it really needed to provide effective governance.
So the very best of luck and whatever happens - there is no need to despair.

Doesn't it simply mean that MA or anyone else was free to submit a bid or negotiate with the Admins from 5 pm last Friday when CK's exclusivity ended?

The money may not have directly been paid into the club, but MM still put that money in to cover losses.
Iirc, MM didnt put a single penny into the club beyond that £80m from 2017 onwards. It would have covered cash losses in 17/18, 18/19 and most of 19/20. The debt started to build from around that point.
It ties in with the belief of MM first wanting out sometime in 2018, the decision to u-turn and appoint Lampard for the publicity and making one last push for promotion. £80m being all he was willing to put in until he could find someone to sell to. He was close at the end of 2019 and early 2020... until we were charged by the EFL for failing P&S.

What a mad couple of days.
I do think we will find out a lot tomorrow, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see a takeover happen by the end of the week with the increased pressure from all corners.
I really hope there is an inquest into the past 12-18 months, because I'm sure there has been things going on that we simply wouldn't be able to fathom. It still baffles me as to how Mel Morris was able to buy a stadium for £80m, but never transfer any funds to the club at all - as far as I understand it was simply an accounting transaction, but in reality we received no money and lost a stadium. We know he's been a bit underhand for a long time as our 'custodian' but I want all the skeletons.

My point is that all parties have agreed a floor price with the CK deal. That means they will not accept anything lower.

So there are no more negotiations to be had. Either you meet the floor price or bugger off.
And the CK deal will only fall through if he turns out to be a proven criminal and his funds seized. As soon as they clear and hit the bank- it’s done- he’s the owner.

CK will be the next owner of Derby County, unless someone else decides to outbid him.

So all this bluster from the PR departments are meaningless.

A lot on here believe there are.
Way back on this thread there is a document where S Gibson the Boro chairman threatened the EFL that if they didn't come after DCFC then Gibson will go after the EFL, As DCFC are a member of the EFL and as other members are not allowed to go after other members those on here feel that the ar$e head at the head of the EFL sided with Boro.
The EFL sat on their hands while our squad was being cherry picked, Wouldn't let us re-sign loan player in January and told the Admin that if DCFC were to accept the 9 point penalty that would be the end of the matter...the 9 point penalty was given in Sept/Oct, Ever since the Boogieman at the EFL did diddley squat to support DCFC

Getting pretty tiresome with the media posts about Ashley (or anyone else) just wanting to be the clubs savior, and how he is ready to go. Bollocks.
There is an accepted offer on the table, that has been agreed to by all parties. That sets a floor price.

Yet negotiations are still open, because of the reasons reported. So all he (or anyone else)has to do is match or (more likely) beat the current accepted offer- then he becomes the next owner of Derby County. It’s simple. There are no deals to be had here. A floor price has been established by all parties- so now it’s just best bid wins.

And the fact he(or anyone else) is not just coming forward with an acceptable offer tells me they are not that serious about being the next owner.

I think this is a good thing.  In Quantuma’s statement last night they touched on the process referring to NDA’s, data room, etc.  Bearing in mind that to start that again puts us where we were in February with CK being announced as PB in April.  I think this the EFL saying “crikey, we haven’t got two months, more like two weeks!!”.
Whilst they might want get a feel for the likelihood of CK’s cash landing in the next few days, I’d like to think they’d want to know who the parties that are interested are.  If, as per some reports, they’ve already provided proof of funding, the EFL can start their tests tomorrow.  You’d think that people like MA and AA would be a rubber stamping exercise, the others, depending who they are, might take a bit longer.
The EFL have been in the spotlight over our case a bit and their existence is under threat.  They’ll come out smelling of roses if they can help get a PB in place in the next fortnight, should CK’s deal fall through (I don’t think it will and the money will land in the coming days) and will no doubt say “if it wasn’t for our intervention DCFC would be no more”.  They will not want us to go bust.  Neither will the other 23 L1 clubs.  We will be a big draw guaranteeing a huge away following and sell out crowds at pretty much every ground.  That will be massively important for the smaller clubs in that division.

Well, yes if Kirchner's money arrives its all moot but at this moment, there is still little confidence that will happen. With respect to the rumours, guess the point is we don't know Pete. Its all been so secretive that its either guesswork or journalists tweeting out details. Unfortunately it is now such a media storm that there needs to be oversight - my choice would actually be a very small cross party group of MPs (Tracey Crouch, Derby MPs & Sports Minister) but the EFL have stepped in instead.
I also do not trust the EFL & consider it a risk that they may be 'influenced' by other clubs or other bidders threatening legal action in reaching a decision on the golden share. However at this particular point in time, I trust them more than Quantuma. And that is about as damning an indictment as you're going to get.

Really torn on the EFL statement & whether this is a positive step.
The EFL are clearly not expecting Kirchner's money to land - that must be the first assumption here. The second point (and one that I agree with them on) is that Quantuma need external oversight on both their actions & communications between bidders & interested parties. Whilst we all acknowledge that Quantuma as an insolvency practitioner have to follow insolvency law, there have been a number of allegations levied at them from well connected journalists that they have not concluded sales earlier this season despite apparent agreements being reached. There are also unsubstantiated theories abound that Quantuma are prioritising admin fees over anything else, something that can not be proven given the opaque nature of all the discussions to date.
In summary, it is clear that there is a total lack of confidence in Quantuma & given the timescales, I do agree the EFL should be concerned at how long this could drag on. The problem then comes with the role of the EFL, an organisation so hopelessly tainted by their incompetence, agenda driven petulance & fact that they are easily manipulated by parties without DCFC's best interest at heart. That may or may not include one or more of the current bidders.
Two things do strike me though. Firstly, this is Quantuma's last ever gig in football administration - they're finished after this. Secondly, there will be a conclusion to this in the coming days & I do believe it will result in the club being sold. I do hope that any brinkmanship tactics the EFL employ (specifically around threats of expulsion) are kept private with Quantuma for the benefit of fans' mental health.
