    Given the actual geography of the stadium (and me being a stickler for accuracy), I suggest the SW Corner is actually renamed as the South Corner, the NW Corner as the West Corner and the stands should all be renamed as;

NS = North North West Stand

SS = South South East Stand

ES = East North East Stand

WS = West South West Stand

Imagine the carnage trying to find your seat after eight pints of Timothy Taylor in the Brunny before KO.

I’m so glad someone else thinks this. How odd that your username is Grumpy Git - could we be twins separated at birth?

I would like to see less of him charging into the channels and more of him staying central, in the 18 yard box, bullying defenders and working on his movement/staying onside.

Warne might have to actually tell one of our players to run about less ?

I noticed at one point vs West Ham, we were breaking forward, and he was deeper than our right back. Helping defend is commendable, but as you’ve pointed out, he needs to be in the box either being the focal point for crosses or pulling defenders out of position to create space for others.

I wonder how many fans who slaughter referees and linesmen have ever had a go themselves ? Do they know all the ball has to be out? And the only fans who will know that are the ones who were perfectly in line.Start with kids football and see how hard it is.

I don’t think it is slaughtering someone to suggest that they made a bad mistake. Yes I know all the ball has to be out - although quite often the linesmen don’t, but that’s one for another day.
For a bit of balance, I thought the referee was generally good. His decision to allow play on for our goal was excellent decision making, and it’s worth noting that he made sure to check Knight was not badly injured as he ran forward to keep up with play.

Fair comment. In the heat of battle I did suggest he could have branded a couple of cards. The dive for the penalty from someone I dubbed Billy Bumfluff (no idea who he is) and a tackle on Jason Knight (I think!) that was knee high and half an hour late. That said, compared to some we've had, he was good and I certainly don't blame him for allowing their not-goal.

Why? I was on the half way line at the back of the stand.
Both players way over the line with the ball in between them. If you can’t see that you’ve no business being a referee. As for the linesman, that’s absolutely disgraceful and I’d expect them to be rested for a few games after that.

It was a real bargain £11 for my Son £6 for me, and only a £1 for my Grandson !.... 3 cheeseburgers outside the ground  before the game was almost as much lol !.... It was strange watching the highlights later though, I've always been in the Toyota West stand previously viewing the same way as the cameras... I was completely confused for a minute or so !

First 5 minutes after half time is always a struggle for me. Convinced the opposition have cut us wide open and are bearing down on goal, and then remembering with relief that they’re playing a flat back four we’ve swapped ends at half time.

Unpopular maybe but personally I can't abide Steve Bloomers watching.  It's feckin dire.

And that dreadful doggerel masquerading as poetry - We Are Derby. It just makes me cringe.

Basic skills of control, passing, crossing and shielding the ball don't change.

Generally I agree. However I think Sibley is showing signs of significant improvement. His crossing has been poor - in my opinion. But I commented to myself during the game how much better his crossing had been, and then he commented in his interview that he’d been working on it in training this week.
    Of the others, I think:

    - his passing is generally good when he’s has a clear idea - think his pass to Hourihane early season.
    - his control needs work

    - his shielding is poor

But given his willingness to acknowledge and work on his weaknesses, I’m really hopeful that we’ll see significant progress now we appear to have a manager who will invest time in him.

I don’t think we’ll be playing him there any longer than we need to. He is doing an admirable job outside his comfort zone. No complaining, just helping the team out as asked by his manager. When chester/Davies/Roberts are back it will be Fozzy/Roberts out there.

He may have deserved criticism for some past performances but to be critical of him today is incredibly negative…

The important thing for me is he’s willing to learn. In that interview he talked about practising his crosses because they haven’t been good enough. It has been a poor aspect of his game but today he put in 3 or 4 very good crosses. If he can use these different positions to learn new aspects of the game, it will be to his benefit in the longer run.

What’s an analyst do under Warne? “Kick it long”?

    It’s more nuanced than that.
The first team coach trains them to kick it long.
The performance analyst feeds back on how far it was kicked.
The fitness coach conditions them to kick it longer.

I think I might just have completed my application for Director of Football!
