Paperwork.
The deal for stadium, agreed.
The deal for the club, agreed
The deal for creditors, agreed.
Between today and Tuesday, paperwork is being signed, contracts exchanged and keys are handed over Tuesday.
It's like buying a house where a completion date is set.
I've been fretting, to say the least. No more! It's happening.

I know why is that? Its not just lawyers - accountants and tax advisers too. Always everyone rushing around at the last second. I would have said that before it was a macho thing but still same now so many more women involved in transactions

Understand your frustration\bemusement but my experience of conveyancing matters is that whenever a deadline is set the legal bods will tend to work to that deadline i.e. not much completes early but the vast majority complete on or 24 hours before the deadline. Can’t say I completely understand the reason behind this but the moment 31st May was set as deadline day I almost new\expected it would go to the wire.

"We've done this". Another telling choice of words. Wouldn't be saying that if we still had blocks in the way.

On the contrary, I think that sounds relatively positive.

"More next week". But some posters said we must complete the stadium purchase by Friday. Don't tell me they were making stuff up... ?

Hi Kieran,
I do understand the point about whistleblowing - I don't think most Derby fans would relish attempts to gain an unfair advantage if it was prescribed in the rules (which of course neither charge was)
Unfortunately your actions set in place a domino effect which was exploited to the maximum by the EFL & Steve Gibson for their own personal interests - EFL to avoid legal action from Gibson and punish Morris & Gibson to engineer a pay out & get one over Morris. Not your intention I'm sure but the effects have been catastrophic.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but would you have handled it all differently knowing what you know now? And has it influenced your subsequent reporting of other clubs?

Probably because their former owner did not tie the corporate structure in knots which are incredibly difficult to unravel, they have assets and cash, huge premier/champions league future income sources, they have not played Boro or Wycombe in their recent past, said owner has had no say in the process and probably more importantly they are not in the EFL, who as we know do everything to help their members.
Its a good job though Angie as no other fans have suffered like Chelsea for the last 12 weeks. not sure how they would have coped with a 13th week as they need to get on with squad changes for next season! Seriously the position on this taken by the media has annoyed me more than I could ever put in words

What do you mean “looks like Alan Nixon was correct”? Don’t give him credit, we all know the sale can’t happen until the stadium deal is done. We’ve known that since CK made his announcement.

Yeah, Bingo. Had exactly the same thought and same example (Seles) sprung to mind. There had been one or two incidents around that time with idiots running on court it was thought to be harmless but one person with the right (wrong) mindset just changes all that. It just feels like it is going to happen sooner or later. ?

Gisby reacted to Day in The Administration Thread
Pretty much.
I think it’s sad that they need to come down heavy on clubs now and show they are serious about keeping fans off the pitch.
The mindless thugs like the one at the City Ground the other night ruin that release of emotion that 99% can do without endangering the safety of the players and staff.
When clubs are struggling to keep pyrotechnics out the grounds, it is only a matter of time until a weapon finds it’s way in and used on a player if things don’t change.
The PL and EFL can’t let that happen, and if this headbutt doesn’t provoke some serious punishments, be it points deductions or forfeiting of games, I would be surprised. It has to be high up on the agenda over the summer.

I don't live in the Derby area but I have not yet had one conversation where any football fan has been anything other than hugely supportive of the situation that we find ourselves in. It's the game that is rotten, not our club.

Agreed @ Brailsford
I will permanently despise the current EFL regime with its self-serving agenda, where it uses guidelines as rules, and rules as guidelines - when it suits them or when pressure from parasites was brought to bear. Gibson & Couhig are opportunistic scum. Every obstacle and deferral was used to assure relegation.
Yes, MM put the club into the black hole of decline, before and since administration was declared - but the negative influence of Gibson et al impeded Q's progress and still now is an issue in the stadium sale in that the parasite claim amount appears to form part of MM's demands to parcel up with the asset price.
Rant over (for now)
Go >> Team Kirch!

Gisby reacted to Carnero in The Administration Thread
Of course we're further forward.
If it were the "2 week extension" that you claim then why didn't they just exchange contracts on Saturday 14th instead of granting 2 day extension to Monday 16th?
Clearly during the additional 2 days the stadium purchase has progressed far enough to give Kirchner the confidence to sign a legally binding purchase agreement.
Now there needs to be an exchange of contracts on the stadium, which the stadium buyer would not sign up to unless DCFC as the tenant had found itself a buyer.
DCFC as the tenant now has a buyer.
