Right, I've been waiting for three days for someone to post the next one as I said to myself I wanted to offer this one up as my final contribution to this thread. But I know what will happen, someone will post one and then @Rev or someone will come along and post Kennedy by The Wedding Present or Kill The Poor by The Dead Kennedys.
So I am going, unilaterally and with no pre-ordained authority, give @Carl Sagan both I and J for the above contribution (based on the fact it was all wrapped inside a lovely little personal anecdote).
And with that I give you this, Kate Bush - The Ninth Wave. A true majesty of music, all seven tracks that sit inside it. Take half an hour out, pour yourself a nice single malt over ice, and listen.
Thank you - this thread was fun.

"Leave the gun, bring the canoli" - Clemenza. What a line!
Also, Connie poisons that bloke in G-III with a cannoli, iirc?
I bought one once just because of that line, it was horrible. Curds, chocolate and pastry - whoever thought that was a good idea should be sleeping with the fishes.

Beginning of series three now, don't spoil it for me. It can get a little bit "there is no spoon" at times but it feels like it's all coming to a conclusion - I will schreibe einen streng formulierten Brief an meinen Abgeordneten if it doesn't.

Hagler was special because he could fight on both feet with ease. He would swing southpaw, step forward and then be pefectly set up orthodox to come straight at you. Most boxers need to reset, he didn't and that meant retreating off him was just falling into the trap. He might not have had the variety of gameplan of the likes of a Leonard but he didn't need to, he just kept coming and there wasn't much anyone could do about it. I (reluctantly) agree that Leonard won their fight but that does not detract one bit from Hagler as a champion - Leonard, Hearns and Duran all got sparked (the last by Kirklaind Laing) but Hagler only ever (two early losses aside) looked in trouble in the first round of the Hearns fight, and look how that ended.

RIP Marvelous Marvin Hagler, one of the true (and I mean true) greats of the sport, participant in what could rightly be considered the greatest fight of all time and as much of a gentleman outside the ring as he was a teak tough warrior inside it. We all have to go sometime but 66 is just too young for someone who had brought so much joy to so many.

I was working at ITV and met up with some mates in the bar there one Saturday night, when it turned out to be the filming of the final show of Reborn in the USA (a show where 80s bands toured America and one was thrown out every week). At the bar I was standing next to Imagination's Leee John so I told him the story of Imagination playing a gig at my college, and before Just an Illusion he threw a single rose out into the audience and I caught it and gave it to my bird.
The rap party for the show was in some Soho club and I was invited to join the "talent" and the production team. I was chatting with Tony Hadley (!) when there was a tap on my shoulder. It was Leee. The club had just put on Just an Illusion and he wanted me to dance with him to the song! When I first saw it on Top of the Pops, I really did not expect that to ever happen!

It just shows the beauty of the game, you couldn't have two more different styles yet they are again in pole position on the final day. It's like that clip of DeChambeau driving the lake last week. What people forgot was that Lee went the long way round and they both ended up with birdie.
Did you see the Korean who took an 11 at the 17th on day one? His reaction when he got it on the green on day two was priceless.
