We are never convincing just really hope Warne does what he was brought here to do and get us out of this s*** league
I for one won’t be doing all of the miles I do week in week out if we are in L1 next season with Warne …tough game away to Exeter next

If there is one thing you can bank on, regardless of who is managing us, it's that we will under no circumstances make the most of an opportunity to make life easier for ourselves.

It's a great club if I'm honest, my daughter loves it there. The players interact brilliantly with the kids every game, all the staff are so welcoming towards her and they do open tours before games, it's got her interested in girls football.
She hasn't experienced pride park yet as we live near Exeter and family ties to derby are gone now, but when she's a bit older I've promised her I'll take her to a midlands Derby to show her a proper rowdy atmosphere!

Yep I don’t care for excuses about restrictions etc etc just do your job and get a couple in ffs everyone seems to have strengthened …we need a striker not Gregory!!! To be honest if it’s true the medical was for Ennis going to be difficult with what time is left to get a decent striker in ….i will be hugely disappointed if we don’t

I think in years gone by I don't think it would have mattered what type of football you played to gain promotion to the Championship, it was more based on budgets and the quality of squad to keep you up. Of course, these points still matter. I believe with teams who go up, you have to try and focus on more control of the ball in possession and midfield is really instrumental in keeping the team ticking over.
Peterborough are a prime example of trying to go all guns blazing, works great in League One, every time they gain promotion it's straight back down the slide because it does not work in a better division. I know Rotherham have a small budget and it's mainly why they've struggled to go much further. You hear the feedback from their supporters when Warne was manager, they just did not adapt to a different level. If Warne does get us out of this absolute pit of a league, which I believe he will, he has got to start thinking of another way to keep us in the Championship. I appreciate he wants to do everything at 100mph and make the team monster running machines, it usually keeps the team in games at the end. When he is up against a half decent side in the Championship, the team will get picked off very quickly, even lesser League One sides can do it. It has happened to every single Rotherham side Warne took charge of.
I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to go wing backs again, he is that stubborn. I hope he reflects and realises to change it up, adapt to a higher standard of football. I just don't think he will. It's becoming more clear as time goes on that he will have that L1 Neil Warnock tag. I thought he was more intelligent enough to bring his winning formula but choose the right moments when to break, when to keep the ball. It's a shame I feel this way because he's a very honourable man. From watching his Derby side for nearly 18 months, grinding along every match is not a good platform for a promotion winning side.

    A few random, semi-related points...
We're also a playing against League 1 teams, with League 1 defenders etc.  We don't have to play exactly like Barcelona or anything, but we're absolutely capable of a much higher quality that what we're seeing.
Personally, I think we've probably got one of the top 2 squads in the League, and I think we've more than likely got one of the top 2 wage bills in the league.  There's just the overriding feeling that we aren't trying to make the most of what we do have.  For one, if you set your team up in such a way that you need Max Bird and Connor Hourihane to outrun a 3-man midfield to be successful, then you're setting yourself up for failure.  I'm not saying we have a God-given right to win the league or anything, but it almost feels like we're hamstringing ourselves and then when it doesn't work, shrugging our shoulders and carrying on doing it anyway.
There have been so many games we've not played very well at all, but we've got something out of the game because Hourihane has smashed one in out of nowhere (Burton) or NML blows past his fullback and crosses for Collins to half-volley in (Cheltenham).  I find it hard to give the manager too much credit when we've been borderline dysfunctional for big chunks of a game, but we won because we had better players and one of them did something.

The difficulty is that the wins do not necessarily quell the concerns so any praise is then forced, or would be from me anyway.
I personally have no real concerns Warne will get us out of this league. It really should be this year but if not then there’s a few contracts expiring in the summer and he’ll have some wiggle room (but would absolutely need to be recruit better this summer than last).
Where I do have concerns is how we still look against the better teams in the league. Peterborough looked a level above us at PP, we couldn’t string two passes together v Bolton even at 11 v 11. Did play well v Barnsley however.
So beating up some bad teams at this level doesn’t really move the needle for me. The crux of my issue is he has a 4 year deal and so the expectation must be that he will lead us at some point in the Championship, however hard I try I just cannot imagine that working out and I can’t simply tell myself “well let’s just get promoted first” because I think that’s the wrong way to look at it.

Met the football legend Darryl Powell on a domestic flight back from Spain
I was with my West Ham mates and after summoning up the courage to speak to him at the baggage reclaim he asked me if I was also a West Ham fan and I said no and explained myself being a Derby fan
he was brilliant to talk to very humble and grounded and said he was a massive West Ham fan but would have followed TBE anywhere as he said at pompey he was inspirational and like a father figure and incredibly funny and honest …I asked him what he thought about the  “ Darryl Powell’s a football genius” chant and he said he loved it with a wry smile lol top top bloke …what we’d give to have a character like him in midfield now ….great bloke and very underrated

I didn’t know that but even so we don’t know that’s true what I’m saying is …there must be a few up and coming strikers where we could sign even a loan
if we don’t sign anyone and Collins gets injured then no excuses ….kiss the top two goodbye

Dont know where to start with that. Terrible first half snd start of second. Excellent free kick from Max after poor first half. Big big difference in mood and impact after the subs especially from Max - like a different player. Bradley really calmed things down. Amazing goal from Collins. Their number 6 dirtiest player have seen off ball for very long time.  Pleased that Curtis got the respectful goodby he deserved - take note Mason Bennett.

Now my rant. OK sibs wasnt perfect but he did well for whole match not in his position rather just 20 minutes towards the end as some did. Warne really annoyed me (for a change) in post-match interview - couldnt just say he stepped in and did well - had to have a go few times about a penalty like the time he said he was worst tackler in the squad. And some on here ask what has happened to Sibley - would say those sort of comments on a daily basis are probably what's happened. Like those little comments he used to make always about Didzy. Tommo back plays ok then back on bench. Fornah made good start at club then disappeared. Wildsmith - what's happened there? He's all about certain players like Collo, CH and plays games withe rest. I dont buy the jovial PW act - I think he plays mind games to get the best out of players but actually comes across as snarky and nasty. And will never get best out of people.  If he's like that in public.....
if he starts CH next match says everything about him as a manager

    Sack Warne.
    Get Warnock in.
    Put Wildsmith back in goal.
We have just played Lincoln, a Reading in dissaray and a very poor Cheltenham side...and made a right pigs ear of it.
We should be top of the table after those 3 games.

Perhaps some will realise that our good results mainly come from the fact we have some better players than most in L1 …when it’s a proper challenge though and we need some tactics and guile we are poor …starts and ends with Warne and not good enough for this size of club

Regardless of results I hate the way Warne plays his football and makes my team look so poor when we really should be a very decent side. He will moan about not getting the players he wanted no doubt again - I have a season ticket yet again but I have missed 8 home games this season due to various reasons but it doesn’t bother me at all - sad

I want to be entertained but when you are playing okay and winning you don’t mind but when it goes to pot it’s horrible. No goals no pattern of play not even if in the top 10 of teams to have made the most passes this season paints a picture of how dross our football is

No real change, they say he can’t leave unless we up the offer, we say we won’t or can’t increase it. As others have said, time to move on, they want to saddle themselves with an unhappy player on huge wages it’s their issue.

That would be easier if it was a s*** performance in isolation but how many s*** performances have we had recently? How often have we actually looked good?

I’m certainly not panicking but neither am I filled with confidence that even if we retain our play off place and continue to be on the fringes of the autos (both of which I think we will) we’ll start to look like a good team. Generally speaking, I only get to watch the limited highlights of the other promotion contenders. Maybe week in week out they’re not much better and my expectations are too high. 🤷🏻‍♂️
