Just seen that he’s posted on Twitter that “nottingham forest sucks” from a question a Forest fan has goaded him into not answering.
Im sorry but this bloke has Alonso vibes all over him.
I don’t want any potential owner putting that type of content out on social media. It’s simply not professional at all.
What makes this worse, he isn’t even the owner yet. Appleby is being very professional as far as I can tell. This guy seems to be liking the attention a little too much already.

I know the EFL love a bit of retrospective action themselves, but it would be blindingly obvious to all that the only reason any club would go into administration directly following us having a a points deduction annulled was because they'd seen what happened here and retrospectively feel they've missed a trick, not because they have a genuine need to do so.
The corner has already been turned, fans are back in stadiums, revenue streams have returned -  if they're not in administration as a result of Covid by now why would they be another 2, 3 months down the line? They wouldn't, the cause would have to be something else.
We're talking about clubs who have all taken up an offer of financial support (L1/L2) or an interest free £8m loan (Champ) and continued trading, who up to now haven't collapsed.
The EFL could & would probably would turn around and say that the club in question shouldn't have applied/accepted the financial help if they knew that it wasn't going to be enough to stave off administration.
I'm less convinced the EFL are worried it would set a precedent of teams getting away without a  points deduction than I am that they simply can't be bothered to go through with the cost and effort of further appeals processes by other clubs, even futile ones.

Yes that's about all Derby would have to offer if relegated to League one, the cumulative value of players.
Yet players would probably need to be sold to clear a chunk of the debt that Derby has.
I'm not sure who would imagine Derby fetching above 10 million if relegated.
Though I've picked 5 million for a reason, the cumulative value of players is unlikely to be worth that much if players are sold because of a need to ...
    1) maybe buy back the stadium and training ground
    2) clear a chunk of the debt
    3) lose players due to relegation
    4) then there's the cost of buying new players to consider
I reckon 5 million if relegated and on that basis, is a fair price
Very tough to get out of league one without a quality team, plus I think I'm right in saying salary restrictions only allow league one teams to spend upto a given budget that no team can breach and a restricted salary budget.

covid isnt the only cause, but with one of the largest gates in the championship, in my opinion most people with a legal understanding of the circumstances would say that it played a big part in derbys financial woes.

Article "WILL COVID-19 EXCUSE CONTRACTUAL PERFORMANCE IN INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL CONTRACTS?", by lewis silkin solicitors is helpful on the topic.
Highlighted in it are a number of instances where Fifa have accepted that a force majeure has been ruled.
In those cases highlighted fifa ruled in favour.
Rather than appeal to the efl, over Riding them by Derby directly appealing to fifa to make a ruling.
That could be useful because a fifa ruling entirely overrules the efl.
I'm not sure if Derby can directly appeal to fifa on the force majeure.

This may be the least informed club related post I've seen in the 7 years or so I've been on this forum.
That you then go and chastise others for peddling propaganda on this forum is unbelievable for its sheer chutzpah!

He wasn't gambling with his own money though, he's run up a poo load of debt.  He's gambled with the HMRCs money, he's gambled with the money owed to HMRC (income tax and employees & employers NI contributions) which may result in ex-employees state pensions being reduced.  He has gambled with dozens of peoples jobs and long standing servants of the club like Faye Nixon have lost their jobs.  I wonder how many can no longer pay their mortgages, maybe you should stand there face to face with these people and defend Mel and see what reaction you get!
About time you took your Mel Morris appreciation society specs off.........!!!!!!!

This is laughable, so what of we made a transfer profit, its about the figure at the bottom RH Corner of the balance sheet that matter.  How much did we still lose that financial year.  All because of the ridiculous wage bill Morris allowed to be built up during his tenure!!!!

    Sam Baldock, Reading 2019-20:
The forward scored six goals in his 28 appearances and always found himself down the pecking order.
Effort was never an issue for Baldock but he ultimately had very little to show for it!
81 appearances over 4 years at Brighton and scored 18 goals.
3 years at Reading, 65 goals and 10 goals.
Throughout that timelinw he's used as a striker.

Force Majeure is defined in the EFL Rules as follows:

"For the purposes of this Regulation 12, a ‘Force Majeure’ event shall be an event that, having
regard to all of the circumstances, was caused by and resulted directly from circumstances,
other than normal business risks, over which the Club and/or Group Undertaking (as the case
may be) could not reasonably be expected to have control and its Officials had used all due
diligence to avoid the happening of that event"

As I say there is no question that COVID fits that description.
Oh and if you are listening to Maguire podcasts, he is an EFL stooge. Do not believe a word that he says.

The teams clearly missing a quality striker, not draws will save us from the drop unless the 12 point deduction is overtime.
Rooney is performing amazingly by getting draws, yet that doesn't bring in enough points for survival in my opinion.
I dont see any of our current attacking players fulfilling the role of a top notch striker.

Derby are threatened with another nine-point deduction for allegedly breaking accounting regulations.
The independent appeal previously found no case to answer, and efl would have to show that their interpretation of the accounting laws is better than our auditors at the time, who submitted the accounts.
I believe the efl can't do that, they can't remake accounting laws to fit what they think they should be.

If Derby get a further 9 points they are relegated, so of course Derby have to appeal the 12 points already given.
Problem is the appeal against the points route been tried before and it failed.
It's very tough in League One as my understanding is that all clubs have very limited wage budget plus their transfer budgets are the same in as much as they are not allowed to spend beyond a certain amount on transfers.
That was designed to give a competitive level playing field.
Since derbys wages are potentially already to high, if in League One it would mean bringing in new players could be very difficult.
Plus I thought I read that Rooney wouldn't stay at Derby if they are relegated.
When I look at League bias it's very clear that the it exists in the championship, even without derbys transfer embargo, the clubs only allowed to spend a set amount on wages and transfers but those clubs relegated from the Premier league have Premier league quality players plus they get massive parachute payments over 3 years meaning they can be promoted very quickly.
So clubs without the luxury of parachute payments are hamstrung in terms of ability to compete.
