The crowds were much lower at times during the 80s and 90s and believe me, even though the quality has been at much worse levels, it was much more enjoyable than being in the presence of some of the entitled idiots that 'support' us today.

I actually quite look forward to crowd numbers dropping to Nigel Clough era levels when you know that the fans there actually want to get behind the team.

Even the clough level was 23 to 26 thousand every home game though. Not forgetting some will be COVID related but even though I’m going I can see why supporters won’t Chuck there hard earned money to watch the team when the owner can’t be arsed to half run a football club into an oblivion

He “claimed” it was to bring joy to the city. Something for us to be proud of! How can you follow that moral code and then do this?

I absolutely loved this football club, but I have totally lost interest now. I’ll be there on Saturday, but I don’t think it’ll ever be the same again for me.

I’ve been going since 1995 and this the first year I’ve thought about not going at all and that’s bad when I’m like that as I’ve always been buzzing to go. Not there on Saturday as I’m in the Isle of Wight on holiday but will look out for score and will be at the next home game. I fear this season crowds will be below 20 thousand and I’ve never know that before

I think Rooney will be gone by close of play tomorrow. He’s being strung along by these bunch of charlatans, just like we are.

Morris isn’t a football man, he just doesn’t get it. Remember his reasons for buying Derby County Football Club? Chancer, a toy to stroke his ego.

He brought the club because we were ready and nearly made it to the prem year before. He thought I’ll Chuck couple quid hurry it along and because he can’t tell his arse from his elbow made bad after bad decisions. I don’t think Rooney will walk no one else will give him a job in championship and he’s fortunate the way he got it in the first place

Those odds will change if even 3 or 4 of the trialists sign. Right now it’s hard to argue that the side we’d be able to put out would be anything but relegation certainties.

If we have two (at least) established centre backs then we may be able to compete, but again our fate would largely depend on luck with injuries.

Even if every trialist signed tomorrow, I’d take a 21st place finish right now.

Even with the central defenders added the worry is goals. To go into a season with just ckr and Stretton is criminal. Baldock isn’t the answer and ckr as much as I and fans love him I still don’t see getting double figures

Really good first half that. Absolute control for probably 35 minutes of it & played some neat stuff - final ball saved Notts from being further behind.

Ebosele & Cashin the absolute standouts though. Festy's pace is a must for the league XI & Cashin has been excellent in every facet of CB play - good in the air, positionally tidy, good on the ball & even seems to be playing wrong side (left footed but playing on the right side). Fully deserves his goal. Also liked the look of Thompson - good set piece delivery, good weight of pass & generally very composed in midfield.

Watson & Jozwiak been quiet though - both need to start demanding the ball more in dangerous areas, playing closer to Kazim when the ball gets to him & being more mobile to find space in the final 3rd when it doesn't.

In all fairness to Watson Rooneys doing a sibley and playing him out of position I prefer him in the middle in a 8 or 10.

This is Rooney's safety first, risk-free way. I can't be doing with it. I don't want us to be "Derby nil" but that's what he's turning us into.

Couldn’t agree more I’m watching it at work and paid more attention to my work. If this is what we go with I don’t see where the goals come from tbh and could even score less than last season (is that possible). I don’t see any change of play to the last 15 games of last season where no one goes past the halfway line

  7. How we know it’s not the free agents wanting more than the efl salary cap or more than a year which is up to them. Derby know the rules of an embargo and that’s why they likely asked for more leeway which the efl said no. Instead why doesn’t Mel and Pearce just get the accounts in and pay hmrc. If we fail ffp at least we will have more time to prepare and will be out of an embargo. At this rate they will getting the books in by the 18th and by the time they are looked at we will be right at the end of the window and scraping for signings

  8. Won’t be long before theres protests at the ground. Not before or during a game but after. I’m worried for this club and the usual weekly stories don’t help. The last one being about Morris paying this months wages from bloody Nixon last weekend and talk sport on it everyday. These open letters just don’t cut it anymore. I hate protests like everyone but this might be the only way the clubs feel the force of how the fans feel. Obviously this is my opinion and I’m happy for people to be against it everyone is entitled to their opinion I just feel these open letters are ways for Pearce to do the usual garbage talk and dodge every question

I complained at the time and said we needed better.

Didn't realise how good we actually had with Bryson, Hughes and Hendrick. Ward and Russell on the wings.

Hell I'd even bring back Simon Dawkins.

Off topic, would Butterfield get into our side right now? He'd fit in perfectly

Hell even feed the fish back

We can't get rid of Rooney. He's got the safest job in the country based on our situation.

Let’s hope the situation stays the same and he walks and then we get taken over and get someone in who knows what they are doing or at least get some experience in the coaching team. It’s like we’ve let the local school p.e team in to manage and coach us. Get maclaren on that training pitch
