I wasn’t going to mention the loan cos you get people saying “we broke the rules so weren’t eligible” ignoring the fact that when the EFL drew up the eligibility criteria they included a clause that they knew full well would rule DCFC out.

The administrators job is to act for the creditors. They need to negotiate with EFL over a number of different things that will help to protect the creditors interest if it all falls into place... including bringing in a buyer for the club.

These guys know what they are doing.

hopefully the waste of time appealing in the first place hasn't cost us much money. Money that could have gone towards saving jobs.

Who is trying to deduct points from us and has been trying to do this for the last 2 years.. and are still at it, even after your pantomime villain has left the club?  Do you think that helps us find a buyer?

You do realise that it's possible to be critical of how Mel Morris has ran the club but also with how the EFL has conducted itself, right?

if you were itk, it would be fine to post this. I fully accept MM may have been unreasonable. Equally the opposite may have been the case. Forget debating that unless you are itk. But not a fight they should be having in public

Great stuff Brailsford, like you I am one of the lucky ones having first watched the Rams in the late fifties. My first match was a reserve game in '57 (Normo end upper tier) with my wonderful uncle Tom who was a Ram through and through. I graduated to the kids corner by '59 and barely missed a home game therefter. By 1960 I was going to a lot of away games and by '62 and earning a crust I hardly missed a game home or away (midweek fixtures like Plymouth being nigh on impossible for me in them days!)
Whilst the Clough/Mackay is obviously the highlight for me I have to say that I really enjoyed the early sixties. I remember those players (Parry, Powell, Oxford, Barrowcliffe, Young, Curry, Hall, Hutchinson, Davies,  Conwell, Upton, Hughes (Billy and Gordon), Swallow, Buxton, Moore, Adlington, Havenhand  etal) with much fondness! Linked with the 'swinging sixties' of the Beatles, mini skirts and cheap ale the early sixties were just incredible and the Rams at that time were, for me and my mates, a significant part of the whole package! Let's hope it can be repeated one day.
For all that my departed father in law did even better! Having been demobbed from the Air Force he managed to get hold of a ticket for the Cup Final,  hitchhiked to Wembley and saw our famous victory!
So he saw us win the Cup and then experienced 2 league titles,  not bad eh!

Bennett, all day long, Malone was a decent player for us, but was quite often a scapecoat. He was bundled out of the club and it was made clear to him that he had no future here. Bennett, on the other hand, was always given the benefit of the doubt by the management and the fans, including me, because he was 'one of our own'. His subsequent actions since 'Joinergate' have left a very sour taste.

All I’m saying is that it’s pretty dirty tactics to throw in an allegation of bad faith at Derby at the last minute. If they were going to accuse Derby in that way, they should have done that from the outset when they had opportunity to throw it at the witnesses  and cross examine them ,  as de Marco pointed out.
by doing that at the last minute it just comes across as a desperate attempt to get a penalty point deduction . Quite rightly that attempt failed .

anyway there are rumours that we might be near to a deal with the Efl so hopefully this poo show will be over once and for all.

Sadly, the forum's slowly but surely going to the dogs. Just a joyless, humourless pile-on, with the same folk posting the same stuff day after day with anyone trying to be remotely upbeat soon set upon by the know-all, mithering, man-baby, moodhoovers. I guess being 'right' trumps actually supporting the club when it needs it most, in the minds of some anyway.
Thankfully the lads doing the heavy lifting are still putting in a shift on the pitch, even if the performances are a little uneven. They've certainly not given up, even if half the 'supporters' on here have. What any of the players reading this forum would make of it, God only knows. It's hardly inspirational! ?

Everywhere we need to do this. Politics, race, economics, sport, disabilities, employers and individuals
Everyone makes errors , no one is perfect, we can all learn, there’s everything from a slip up, a moment of red mist, lack of factual info, misunderstanding, even lack of brains …. but in the end what was your intent ? and show me your working out. If we do this we can depolarise so much in society ( pssst mods this is sociology not politics … I think !  ?)

    1) they do not implement the maximum possible.. they try and get the maximum they can. Why? The rules do not insist they have to get maximum penalties possible , or even any penalties at all. Why can they not judge each case on its merits? And why even bring charges they don't actually succeed with?
    2) see earlier in this thread with exact quotes from IDC hearings. Also EFL statement they were disappointed we only got a fine.
    3) See IDC appeal (when we were fined £100k)
    4) John Percy of the national press, the  Daily Telegraph quoted that EFL sources were "shocked"
    5) Kevin Hectoring, I believe
    6) FOr alleged breach of amortisation rules, EFL sought penalty point deduction. There is no scale of penalties for this  , so no penalty points were deducted, but EFL wanted it anyway. For stadium sale , allowed under the rules EFL were trying to punish us, but failed. But like I say there is nothing to say the EFL has to go right up to the maxium penalty allowed under the ruiles anyway. They can judge each case on it merits. But no they go for the adversarial route every time.

No need for that. I think if you read past judgments at appeals hearings it is very obvious that EFL press for maximum punishment they can. They tried to get us relegated when the punishment was in fact only £100k fine . And claimed we "deliberately broke FFP rules" which the IDC said was rubbish we couldn't possibly have known we were in breach of FFP if our own auditors said it was OK.

    etc etc.
So no bias from me , I form my opinion based on the evidence that is plain for all to see, and from EFL's own statements.
In this case the rules state there is an automatic 12 point penalty , but we can appeal on grounds of force majeure. There is no doubt that COVID is a force majeure event. EFL are quoted as being "shocked" that we are appealing. Why on Earth should they be shocked? Were they shocked when Wigan appealed, with considerably less merit?
I have no probelm with the 12 point penalty being applied automtically but after we have appealed someone else suggested we could reach an agreement with EFL on what the penalty should be. I am just saying I see no prospect of that on EFL's past perfmormance, they press for the maximum penalty they can get away with.

I just get the feeling that the EFL might wish they had not taken the obvious course of -12 points, It's in their rules so they had too, I may have taken some illegal substances last night...but I just feel we're gonna win this, I may come down from that high of last night when it's confirmed to be -12 points.
