It looks to me like every avenue that has been open to other clubs previously is slowly being closed to us.
The EFL want us down and clearly don't want us back any time soon.

    I really don’t .
I have always said FFP is ridiculous and maintain that. .
We are in this mess because off FFP and Mel getting totally blitzed by the EFL with no way out .
Mel couldn’t sell the club and then we had Covid and no revenue
It has been vindictive against him IMO .
Other clubs have piled in also.
The most significant thing for me is that the first hearing went in our favour.
Its all done now but going forward my love for football has somewhat gone .
I know this is a view that lots of Derby Fans won’t agree with but going forward I see nothing but more heartache ahead with player sales etc

We still have a chance of winning silverware this year and while that’s still possible there’ll be people interested in taking us over. The kudos surrounding winning a trophy is what rich men really want and we still have a chance to bring that dream to them.
It’s still a few months away and Forest are on a good run right now but I think we can win it.

Personally I have reached the conclusion that it’s a mixture of mel Morris and the EFL to blame for how far this mess has descended,to the point of being on the brink of the club going out of existence, shame on both parties ,pride , stubbornness and disregard for the most important thing ,ie a club like Derby going out of business,
that said ,it’s time to move on ,hope we find a buyer wanting to and able to pick up the pieces and rebuild with a loyal fan base supporting them??‍♂️

We weren't under an embargo and we didn't have the Football League trying to kill our club.

FFP is an outdated concept now for the reasons stated. The yoyo of Norwich, Watford etc show this. The only true financial constraint would be to put a worldwide cap on transfer funds and wages, but that’s never going to happen.

Either we make it no limit and if owners go crazy chasing the dollar then it’s a gamble clubs and fans have to accept or they keep with the FFP rules. Or some smart arse comes up with another plan but that’s out of my limits.

As if to demonstrate the lack of understanding of which "rules" Derby have broken, we have this pile of nonsense from The Grauniad :

What a dreadful excuse for journalism and editing.

Well what a read this has been. Ffs
We not down yet, let's hope the player give all and do the impossible... and what a buzz knowing we beat the odds,  it will make last game of last season like a a tea party with the celebration..
If we go down , we will/hope have new owners innplace that will want to get us back up ASAP
I hope even the wrist slashes on here will turn out next season  with the loyal brigade and be part of the support that all other league 1 clubs will be envious
OK the ground might not be ideal for some of you prawn sandwiches,  so for one season, try a soggy pukky pie, see a old ground, see how poor supported clubs survive .
So what if we play thro the WC some Irish rams and scot rams won't be there anyways ? give them something to do while us welshrams ? and you English rams are away in Qatar
Ffs put on some blind faith glasses and remember this is Derby COUNTY   not man United Liverpool mancity Chelsea etc if you believe we will be like this  You are deluded
It's the Derby way,  the rollercoaster way.
I have planned 5 games till new year all paid up, as part of my bit to support the team and the great eascape from here in paddy Land.

When we were at Elland road for the playoff semifinal and the Leeds fans were singing “ we beat you at home we beat you away” and then they scored another goal  should we just have gone home with our tails between our legs. Well I’m glad we didn’t cos I would have missed one of the best nights of my life. Now is not the time to give up.

Glad to hear the BBC has continued its tradition of impartiality and accuracy.
So who has been trying to deduct points from us for the last two years and only succeeded in the end by blackmailing us when we are under threat of extinction? And they have done no wrong?

It’s easy in retrospect to say this but Mel was a fan’s favorite for a long time and Derby had exciting times at Wembley.
All of a sudden to some the EFL are saints and Mel is a demon .
    I don’t buy it.

Please don’t forget Mel owns the ground .

Never mind. When we get out of League One (and we will, however long it takes) it will be all the sweeter. I'd rather we had a club and it be in L1 than no club at all.
Pack out the away ends of every ground in the league next season, enjoy some new away days and take each game as it comes.
This is what real football is about.

I'll take a consistent run on 3pm Saturday games, with no international breaks. It's not going to feel glamorous, far from it, but it is what you make it. The possibility of new away grounds is exciting to me. I'm genuinely looking forward to a bit of a change.
Football is football at the end of the day. We've been a low scoring, largely dull side under a transfer embargo for the past two seasons. I couldn't care less about being one step further from a division I haven't seen since I was a teenager. If all I was interested in was the Premier League, I'd travel 30 minutes in the other direction and watch Leicester.

I was there at that one. One of my first away games along with Lincoln. I was about 12 or 13 and was right at the front when they shut the station doors ( I think there was another football special changing at york). Derby fans trying to break the doors down (which would have fallen on us and probably would have killed a few so not very clever) until the copper shouted "if you don't back off, I'll ram this f'ing horse into you. Back on the football special and the only thing for sale in the catering carriage were apples. "Oh Bobby Bobby..."
Anyway, back on subject. Relegation to League One is not the end of the world. Having no club to support would be. My young kids and I will still go and support Derby and for the thousands who go to watch Derby with their mates or their Dad or their kids - it bonds us. Those memories of away days to York and Lincoln with my cousin when I was young, I'll keep forever. My 8 year old son still talks about the playoff final at Wembley and how great Wembley is. My daughter comes with us too now and it's quality time with them, regardless of which division we're in. That's football - not so much about the quality of the football on the pitch, but, match day and everything that we do with those we go with.

Where’s the positivity in saying we are already relegated with 87 points still to play for, I will except it if and when it happens but until that happens I will be cheering on the team to try and win as many games as possible cos if we don’t you can’t expect the players to.
