Never mind. When we get out of League One (and we will, however long it takes) it will be all the sweeter. I'd rather we had a club and it be in L1 than no club at all.
Pack out the away ends of every ground in the league next season, enjoy some new away days and take each game as it comes.
This is what real football is about.

I'll take a consistent run on 3pm Saturday games, with no international breaks. It's not going to feel glamorous, far from it, but it is what you make it. The possibility of new away grounds is exciting to me. I'm genuinely looking forward to a bit of a change.
Football is football at the end of the day. We've been a low scoring, largely dull side under a transfer embargo for the past two seasons. I couldn't care less about being one step further from a division I haven't seen since I was a teenager. If all I was interested in was the Premier League, I'd travel 30 minutes in the other direction and watch Leicester.

I was there at that one. One of my first away games along with Lincoln. I was about 12 or 13 and was right at the front when they shut the station doors ( I think there was another football special changing at york). Derby fans trying to break the doors down (which would have fallen on us and probably would have killed a few so not very clever) until the copper shouted "if you don't back off, I'll ram this f'ing horse into you. Back on the football special and the only thing for sale in the catering carriage were apples. "Oh Bobby Bobby..."
Anyway, back on subject. Relegation to League One is not the end of the world. Having no club to support would be. My young kids and I will still go and support Derby and for the thousands who go to watch Derby with their mates or their Dad or their kids - it bonds us. Those memories of away days to York and Lincoln with my cousin when I was young, I'll keep forever. My 8 year old son still talks about the playoff final at Wembley and how great Wembley is. My daughter comes with us too now and it's quality time with them, regardless of which division we're in. That's football - not so much about the quality of the football on the pitch, but, match day and everything that we do with those we go with.

Where’s the positivity in saying we are already relegated with 87 points still to play for, I will except it if and when it happens but until that happens I will be cheering on the team to try and win as many games as possible cos if we don’t you can’t expect the players to.

It is an opportunity to clear the decks and start again.  Is it really disproportionate compared to others?  I can't be bothered to look up the details but the reality is that you have to move on now.   Football is a mess.  Derby County will have their day again.  A few weeks ago fans were talking about liquidation.  Some Coventry City fans even set up their own club with the thought that CCFC may go bust but fans would need to follow a phoenix club....In came Coventry United which had several promotions up the non-league pyramid.  They play in red...Not a good choice in my opinion.
Anyway, as I have said in the past, County fans are the biggest asset. Even those who fall by the wayside will be replaced by new fans.  This is happening at Coventry and i for one thought it was impossible given how bad the fans had been treated.  The only significant difference is that your club stays in Derby...Hope you have your own ground because it causes so many problems if you don't.

For GODS SAKE stop the whimpering and the crying .Yes we are down .But we are down now with our decks clean .Now lets clear out the remaining dross of some of our so called better football players that only try 1 in 12 match's , i wont name names .
Start again with a new owner the accepting of the deduction is because to get new owners in by jan to prepare for league 1 and a bounce back hopefully .The rest of the season is over its just play who and what to see what they have got for league 1 .
    Our future starts now .
Thanks Mr Morris but you severely over stretched the gamble and will now NOT be well remembered at all .

I believe it is due to their primary duty to the creditors. They must make the sale of the club speedy and at as high a value as possible.
They  “rolled over” on the appeal in order to get the EFL to fix ALL the sanctions this season. The appeal - or agreeing to back down from it - was the only leverage they had. They needed to have the sanctions closed off in order to sell the club.
It stinks to high heaven from a justice point of view, but from a finance and new owner POV it probably had to happen given the EFL’s consistently appalling behaviour and inconsistency.
I await with interest the EFL clearly saying no further penalties for historical misdemeanours.. not seen it yet except in the vague use of words like “concluded” ….
The EFL are not to be trusted to leave this alone. They will continue to be on our case .. bet you !

    hi all
    OK, we're doomed...or are we?
At -3 we now need 43 points from 29 games to be in with a chance of at least being part of the relegation dogfight in April/May rather than just rolling over.
In other words, from now on we need 1.5 points per game on average.  Statistically, that means winning half the games and (possibly) losing the ones in between.  Draws as per our current form will simply postpone the inevitable but not prevent it.
12 wins and 7 draws will give us the 43.
This to me would suggest a "death or glory" strategy of attacking football, especially at home.  A point in this context is just "meh", but wins are worth gambling for, and there's literally nothing to lose by gambling because unless we gamble we're down anyway as expected.
Nothing to lose, playing for pride, with the pressure now off they might just surprise us.
It's also worth bearing in mind to what extent the teams just above us are struggling and will probably continue to struggle.
We are like Lewis Hamilton at the back of the grid in F1 - can we fight our way to 21st place on the last day on goal difference?
Could we pull of the greatest ever escape?
I wonder what odds the bookies are offering on our survival?

If we make a fuss they drag things out, extend the embargo, and refuse to let us resign any of our own players. Meaning all the senior members of the squad out of contract can leave on a free and the under 24 leave and have the free arranged by a tribunal. Then they will book the losses for the players leaving on a free as a loss and drag things out for further FFP seasons. Make no mistake they have us by the knackers.
I'm pretty furious about it all, we we do end up relegated and the young players leave for a pittance I'm all up for going old fashioned 80's thowback style. The EFL have stiched us up in the press, and allowed the Wycombe chairman to publicly call us cheats without comment. Everyone thinks we "cooked the books" rather than simply using an alternative accounting method everyone thought was ok for four years before kicking off about it.  Close moor farm, train on the pitch, water it a lot before matches. It would simplify our recuitment, can you play in ankle deep mud? Everytime anyone complained about the playing surfice I'd ignore the question and talk about accounting. (End Rant)

EFL saying its unlikely Derby would win of course means nothing at all , they would say that wouldn't they . They are on the other side, or they choose to be on the other side.
We have no idea what the 17 points is supposed to be for. Being Derby County presumably. Wearing black and white strip being an aggravating factor.

I think you’re right. Wherever you are there are the “top teams” .. it is natural selection. History, crowd sizes all sorts. And fair enough

For me though Parachute simply warps that to the point that the teams that might break in can’t because the incumbents are unreasonably protected. It creates virtual stasis. The Yo Yo clubs will always be Yo Yo. The opportunity for new blood is discouraged

Anger, most certainly in this context, is a backward looking, negative emotion. There is nothing we can do about what has happened, it's done, look forward.
Anyway, change is good, freshens things up, a complete reset is required whether we like it or not. This gives the opportunity, backwards to go forwards and all that jazz.....
