From what I remember if we had signed Lubos Kubik and Ivo Knofilchek they would have been the first foreign players to play in the old First Division.

No they wouldn't have been even the first that season for Derby John Cheidozie had played two games for us earlier that season, one a particularly good performance in a 1-1 draw at Forest.

When did 5th on the grid in Formula 1  become P5 on the grid? And 3rd place tun into P3?

When did footballers start to have foot races to the ball instead of the more traditional race that must have been so confusing to everybody?

When did a new series on TV no longer come out, but drop?

And when did presenters stop covering all the stories so they could be across them all?

And when, or more pertinently, why, did British people start saying baby mama and baby daddy?

This is what 4 months without alcohol does to you. It sends you all bitter and twisted.

Name some more that I can wind myself up with.

Well done on the 4 months mate.

  3. Going from 1967 onwards:

    1. DAVID NISH (Criminal he only had 5 England Caps, but obviously his injuries played a big factor).

    2. Micky Forsyth (Underrated by most 325 appearances with half of them in the top flight.)

    3. John Robson (Would have been a fixture for years if we had not brought in Nish)

    4. Chris Powell ( Good player and a great guy)

    5. Craig Forsyth (Like namesake Micky you don't really miss him until he is not there)

    6. Steve Buckley (One of the Trench crew that brought us back from the brink in 84, local lad too and his dog is written in Derby Folklore!!)

Did see an interview with Kevin Ratcliffe.  Said when he arrived at Derby on a short term contract he was surrounded by up their own arse kids who weren't willing to improve as they thought they were already the dogs b*******.  He hadn't seen half the arrogance at Everton in a squad that had won the league.  Probably about right.

Of the ones i have met and got to know i really don't buy that.

Tommy and Marco are as down to earth footballers and grateful of their god given talents as you are ever likely to meet.

Shorty although i have only talked to him a couple of times comes over that way as well.

Agree with McFarland vs Benfica Home or away. He’s the greatest Derby County Player of all time.

alan Hinton Vs Arsenal 1972 the 5-0

gemmill vs Chelsea at home 1972 huge win. Terrible wet bog of a pitch and gemmill just drove the whole team forwards. Incredible player.

John Ohare in the Tottenham 5-0

Todd vs juventus at home. Single handily kept an incredible juve side under control and also was great in attack.

Todd vs Liverpool at Home in 1972. What defending against keegan and toshack late on. Won us the league.

dave mackay away at forest in the 4-2 win.

    john McGovern again Liverpool aswell.

ron Webster against Leeds at home in 1972. He smashed bremner

    Some great calls there.

i feel sorry for some on here who never witnessed that era with Derby, every Match couldn't come round quick enough and if we got beat it was because some one either played above themselves or cheated (Leeds).

Wasn't it when we  won 1-0 in 1989?

Shilton holds the record for best performance against us (IMHO),2-1 Derby v Leicester at BBG in Oct 72.

If Shilton hadn't been in the net it would have been about 12-1.

This was the view from my B&B room in Rhyl back in October. That brown thing in the distance is the sea. As I said earlier, it was cleaner and calmer than I remember it from numerous trips in the 80s and early 90s.

I go to Butlins Skegness a couple of times a year, but never leave the resort so cannot comment on the place.

Corner house cafe next door is alright, Rhyl is improving visually a lot of wonga gone in in the last 10 years, but the clientele is still rough.

He always has been a fantastic s*** stopper. When we first signed him, his distribution and catching from catches were two of his strengths too. He seemed to lose confidence in catching the ball after the Playoff Final, but improved a lot towards the end of his spell with us.

He was my number 1 keeper and wouldn't have wasted time or budget on Hamer, Marshall or Allsop.

Agree he had improved a lot from his early days, but on crosses Dracula is less frightened of them
