Wasn't it when we  won 1-0 in 1989?

Shilton holds the record for best performance against us (IMHO),2-1 Derby v Leicester at BBG in Oct 72.

If Shilton hadn't been in the net it would have been about 12-1.

This was the view from my B&B room in Rhyl back in October. That brown thing in the distance is the sea. As I said earlier, it was cleaner and calmer than I remember it from numerous trips in the 80s and early 90s.

I go to Butlins Skegness a couple of times a year, but never leave the resort so cannot comment on the place.

Corner house cafe next door is alright, Rhyl is improving visually a lot of wonga gone in in the last 10 years, but the clientele is still rough.

He always has been a fantastic s*** stopper. When we first signed him, his distribution and catching from catches were two of his strengths too. He seemed to lose confidence in catching the ball after the Playoff Final, but improved a lot towards the end of his spell with us.

He was my number 1 keeper and wouldn't have wasted time or budget on Hamer, Marshall or Allsop.

Agree he had improved a lot from his early days, but on crosses Dracula is less frightened of them

I thought it was done for the farmers, I have no problem with early mornings - means I can get out on the golf course a little earlier.

It was originally,(during the war) the reason it has not changed is the schoolkids, farmers would easily cope with the permanent change nowadays.

    Are you sure about that?

I chose one club (not quite at random but perhaps relatively local to you) - Chelsea.

They seem to run a loyalty scheme for away tickets based on how many away games you’re prepared to commit to. This is taken from their site:

All away match ticket applications are allocated on a loyalty basis to those that commit to travel to the most away matches throughout the season.

I didn’t look too deeply but I couldn’t see any mention of needing to be a season ticket holder.

This topic has been discussed a few times and I think we all agree that there is no scheme that would satisfy every one. However, as a ST (with away membership but in the 0-5 category at the moment. I’m hoping to move up a category next season provided I can get a ticket for Sheffield Wednesday) I think the current arrangement is probably about as fair as you can get. Our reward for having a ST is priority (and a small discount on match day tickets) for home games.

p.s. since posting the above original message, I looked at another club whom demand will always exceed supply - Leeds. They seem to operate to similar scheme to ours. Regarding ST holders, it just says they are able to purchase if tickets become available on a first come first served based and gives them the chance to build up their away attendance to enable them to access the away tracker system for future campaigns.

I am reliabley informed that Liverpool do as well.

  6. Not often i post about a game on match day (Usually too emotional about it.)

I still think we are missing a bit of steel for this division, in 85/86 we had Big Rob and Rossi, mixing it, and  with George snapping at peoples Heels.

With the exception of Fozzy we don't have the equivalent. (Bielik back off loan would have been ideal).

Anyway back to my Red Bull and Vodka, and three points and run starting again on Tuesday!!

My Dad was friends with Bertie Mee before the second world war. Mee played for Derby reserves. Mee later managed Arsenal to the double and then - thankfully - sold Charlie George to us.

So, my Dad - a fan of those down the road and who play in red (I thought Garibaldi was a biscuit) used to taunt me that he did something I hadn't - followed Derby County reserves away.

Keeping in theme with the post, seeing DCFC reserves away and seeing a famous player playing in the reserves I went to see the reserves playing at the Council Rec, in 1989 .

These guys was playing for them:

Current Everton Manager, Current Derby Academy Director and Gary CHarles!!!

Can't be as bad a the open air on at Chesterfield at the game when it snowed.

Couldn't eat vanilla ice cream for years after that.

Is that the game where the centre circle was like Butterley Res -10 in winter and a the outsides where like a ploughed field  after a deluge.

On bogs the old one, at the BBG, on the corner of the Ossie End just under the C Stand corner always had it's own fruity fragrance!!

    Anyone sensible would totally agree...

which is why FIFA in their wisdom count matches decided on penalty kicks as a win/loss when computing the FIFA World Rankings. It's one reason why the official world rankings are a load of rubbish.

Fifa use ELO rankings now, since 2018.

This doesn't take into account penalty outcomes, however it does extra time.

Same club who gave a contract to a player booted out of Palace for his homophobic ramblings.  Getting a bit of a reputation aren't they.

I look forward to them contacting the FA demanding that there should be lifetime bans for all those responsible like they did with their board when they signed that player.  Oh, my mistake they didn't.  Appears that outrage only extends to American blokes making bids to buy Derby County in the Forest Kingdom.

I thought he was chucked out for doing an "accidental" impression of Hitler or are you saying there's another one?
