Some time ago I found myself paying for Apple Music which I forgot to cancel after the trial period.

    I phoned them and explained.

The lady to whom I spoke said. 'OK, don't worry, we'll cancel your membership and refund your payment.'

I thanked her and they did so.

    It can be done!

As regards Rams TV if enough overseas users cancel it MAY cause them to impose a more reasonable increase...or not!

It’s not a RamsTV decision. Contact the EFL.

I might be wrong, but this season's shirt would have been designed about a year ago. I'm sure the lovely lassie from the marketing department, was on RamsTV when talking about this season's pink shirt. @Owen87ITK please correct me.

Here's hoping they have incorporated something into the shirt for the 50th Anniversary of being Champions of England.

That’s correct. These things are planned out well in advance.

Who did the filming on Saturday? Was it Rams tv or somebody else? @OwenB557 I lost count of the number of times when the ball was in play and we either went to a replay that could have waited or the camera was focusing on who was on the sidelines.

We took the iFollow four-camera package on Saturday, I believe.

If that’s your view, you’re doing very well to commentate when the action is down the South Stand specifically, so well done.

Mind I’m not going to trust your offside calls until I’ve at least seen a replay from now on ?

Like I say, it’s not the best commentary position! Though it’s actually not the worst I’ve ever had, either.

I’m making good use of the monitor when the action is at the far end, for sure!

Are those staffing restrictions because of Social distancing, or because our staff have been furloughed?

    Social distancing.

There’s a hugely reduced number of staff allowed in stadiums and on the gantry specifically, hence why Shane & I are having to commentate from outside our studio. Not the best commentary position I’ve ever had !

Reading 2nd - yet more awful directing. Lots of replays of nothing situations when the ball was in play! Lots of lingering shots of players and the Reading manager too. Was the director told who were playing in black & white @OwenB87?!

Due to staffing restrictions we’re having to take EFL pictures. I was getting frustrated with it too, trust me.

@OwenB87, can we listen to RamsTV commentary in games like this one in future?

I'm sure it's something we could explore, but I'm not sure how useful it would be in practice.

As I've mentioned before, commentating for TV is very different to a radio commentary. I'm not really describing, just trying to add to the pictures, so I'm not sure you'd get much of a picture of the action ?‍♂️

I know when there was an issue with Radio Derby's feed earlier in the season one chap on Twitter was irate about my lack of description.

Thanks @OwenB87 but I'm now confused. For league games I thought that every Rams week day match was available via RamsTV unless it was a main match on Sky. I appreciate that this is a rearranged game but why will it be a 'late decision'?

It’s actually at the discretion of the home team, so Luton could decide not to stream the game, and that would mean we & Sky can’t either. That’s the reason we couldn’t show Wigan domestically on Boxing Day too.

Luton might decide nearer kick-off that they want to stream afterall, so keep your eyes peeled.

And if you happen to see Sky advertising it on the red button, that’ll mean we’ve got it too.

Not Owen but I can help...the fixture list on the club site tells you next to each game if they are on RamsTV worldwide or select countries.

Luton is showing as being available worldwide.

As it stands, it's a worldwide stream.

But we'll do our best to make it available to UK viewers, too. Might be a late decision but keep your fingers crossed . . . !

  10. Thanks for all the comments.

In Fish's defence, I think the team's record on RamsTV domestic streams isn't great full stop !

The crowd noise thing is something we're working on. We've had a few problems with atmos mics picking up unsavoury comments, as mentioned! Also, there often isn't much atmosphere to pick up at some 23s/18s games.

On the cameras, I think we were taking the EFL mix last night, rather than doing our own thing. The gantry position at Fulham isn't great either. And we certainly don't have an OB truck!

As for my commentary, I don't think it's my strength but I'm working on it. Hopefully I'll improve as the season goes on.

Yes, but that’s no excuse for poor camera work, flicking between cameras at the wrong time, and all the noise and foul language from dugout below, which is really quite off putting. This is quite possibly the worst Rams TV production I’ve seen, and I watch it every week, nothing like the usual fairly polished product. The performance on the pitch doesn’t help!

We were just as frustrated as you, trust me. Sorry it wasn’t up to the usual standard.

The new Academy Review show was excellent @OwenB87 except for your skinny jeans with two large mobile phones (or at least I presume they were).  You can carry the jeans off but perhaps the camera person could have the phones while you are doing your bit.

One was a phone, the other was a mic pack, and unfortunately there isn’t really anywhere else to put that!

I think he's referring to the MarathonBet or Bet32 footage of Chinese Whispers where the players had to lip-read, where the "Martin Waghorn was a snip at five-million" happened.

Ah! Though that was all RamsTV too !

Need more lighthearted stuff including the players, that's how we get to know them more, rather than Colin's interviews where he doesn't actually pose a question. The videos last year (not done by RamsTV) with Waghorn, Nugent etc were brilliant and far more insightful into the personality of our squad than most other things we get to see.

    What was the question?

Also, which videos are you talking about there?

  15. Morning all,

I know there have been plenty in the thread, but does anyone have any questions about RamsTV?

How we do what we do/why we do what we do/who makes decisions on running orders & content/how I prepare for a commentary etc etc.

We won't be able to answer everything, but I hope as the season goes on we will be able to answer a few!

    Cheers!

@OwenB87, you got in before I had chance to add another comment. Seriously, without wanting to brown nose, I've really enjoyed your commentary when you've done it. I don't know if you were being serious when you posted, but I would certainly have no problem. Keep up the excellent work, you and what must be a fairly big team to be able to produce such an excellent product, and at least this exiled Ram is very grateful for being able to follow my team even if it is from afar.

No worries Rich, I wouldn't have taken offence even if you were being serious - I'm quite aware that I'm not everyone's cup of tea. And I agree on Fish, he's top notch. And thank you for the kind words too!

Audio feed cut out for me at the beginning of the second half and hasn't come back yet. Anyone else having this problem?

Radio Derby’s problem, I’m told (I assume you’re referring to the audio commentary).

One for @OwenB87, any chance that we can pay our subscription as a one off payment this year? Although I pay through a standing order I would prefer to do it as a one-off (mainly because the missus sees my payments appear on my mobile each month and asks me if it's really necessary). Also when paying there is a PayPal option but up till now it doesn't allow me to pay that way.

I'm told that's something that will be discussed !

@OwenB87 I think its a great platform. The coverage has been great the games I've seen and having Martin Fisher as a commentator is a real winner. Done well to get him I'd say.

    Cheers.

It's great to get Fish when we can, he's top notch, obviously. Fortunately the pull of commentating on his team means he's happy to do it when he can!
