feeling a little more confident today after reading Simon Jordan’s comments. Could this mean a deal for the ground is getting close? I’m tending to think Dell could still be involved somewhere in the new ownership. Maybe backing Andy Appleby perhaps

Kinda but I think it’s probably complicated and messy.

Lets say Ashley wants to buy the stadium rather than the club (that is my gut instinct anyway but that’s by the by) so he pays off the MSD debt, leaving Appleby to sort the creditors. In the short term, it works and then the club pays a lease to Ashley whilst Ashley does what he wishes with ‘The Pride of Sport Direct Park’ but eventually you’d imagine the club would want the stadium back. The issue with that that it wouldn’t take much to take it away from being a reasonable price for the sell back. The stadium was worth £80 mill before administration, it would be worth around that again and so it would become a huge issue. It doesn’t take much thinking to realise all the scenarios that could occur there.

I think the more sensible outcome, if you were looking at the idea of splitting the bids, would be for the council to buy the stadium from Mel, lease to the club with the idea it would be brought back into the club at a later date.

I wonder if the plans to extend the stadium outside are still in place? If so a new owner could put retail units/restaurants in place

    Just a thought

  3. I can’t see how the stadium is s block. We know it’s owned by Mel and not in administration. We probably know Mel owes money to MSD via the stadium.

Plus if I remember correctly he said a while ago that the new owner could lease the stadium from him. Which in theory means a new owner does not to need to find extra money straight away to purchase the stadium.

Not necessarily they have sold Ebosele so the club get the money,if we are liquidated the players registrations pass to the EFL so any money then raised by selling him goes into EFL coffers. Make of that what you want.

Sadly Festy hasn’t been sold and we get nothing. He is signing a contract next week, according to Rooney, as we couldn’t offer him a new one. Though it has been mentioned we might get compensation because of his age. But I doubt it somehow

Are you two seriously comparing Derby County and Chelseas attractiveness to investors? Chelsea have half a billion in revenue every year, a globally recognised brand, they win trophirs and have many valuable assets ( including several players worth more than our entire club).

On the other hand we dont own the stadium, we dont own the training ground,we'll have about 6 players worth close to nothing at the end of the season, a very regional brand and we're lucky if our yearly revenue breaches £30 mill (and it wont get close if we're relegated).

Why is it a surprise that chelseas sale process is faster?

Some might say they won every possible trophy using money that’s not quite legal. But then that may not be true. We will never know

  6. So the sale of Chelsea seems to be going ahead with great speed. With a deadline of Friday in place apparently.

Talk of one American worth £28bn being part of one consortium. I’ve no idea where the money goes after a sale is complete because it can’t go to Abromavich.

Then we look at Derby and absolutely nothing appears to be happening, no comments from the admins. Bids being rejected then … quiet. What the heck is going on at our club. Will we still be here next season? Will we be able to buy season tickets? Will a new owner also own the ground or will they lease it from Mel?

    Goodness only knows

The Binnies pulled out, the Administrators did not reject them; they asked them to increase their bid which they refused to do and pulled out.

Yes, of course, we want to avoid liquidation. I just hope we have that choice.

Rooney's press conference answers did not fill me with the same level of confidence that you appear to have.

The Binnies also said they made ‘many attempts’ to buy the club

It's brilliant when you are in  a game when the ball simply won't go in, neither will it fall to a Derby player when it breaks loose or bounces in the penalty area, and we still win!

Yet another great performance, and apart from 10 minutes after Tom's red card when we went into shock and started playing too cautiously, we simply kept on going and going and going. It seems that Jason Knight's "Never Stop" attitude has rubbed off on the rest of the squad. I think Knighty was man of the match for me, because not only did he keep going non=stop till he was subbed, he affected the play really well. And he has built up a great understanding with Nathan Byrne, playing give-and-go into the corner 4 or 5 times in a row towards the end of the second half. Why Peterborough never picked up on it I don't know, and he got several crosses in as a result.

The ref didn't do too badly today, or perhaps it is better to describe him as not as bad as the usual rubbish we get. But he missed some glaringly obvious fouls. Coulson's two-footed lunge at Ebosele a few minutes before the sending off was a straight red. The ref saw it and waved play on, booking the guy a few minutes later. Festy did the right thing, going straight up the wing and skinned him, with there only being one result. Peterborough were so out of touch that time wasting and fouling became a major tactic, so well done Festy. And there is a delicious irony - the ref booked a Peterborough player for time wasting way before time added on at the end, which is almost unheard of, but even after an entire season of the refs letting opposition players time waste for almost the entire 90 minutes, Derby ended up with more bookings for tie wasting than Peterborough! He also missed the forearm smash on Tom Lawrence, and must have been trained by Mike Dean (ask Beilik!), but Tom was stupid for taking things into his own hands. His foul could have resulted in a really nasty injury. Unlike Crooks, Coulson will remember the incident for quite some time.

Once Tom went off Max Bird stepped up and took responsibility, driving the team forwards, and good old Louie Sibley. He made a big impact on the match, with a shot just wide within moments of him coming on, and was buzzing about all over the place. His willingness to run at the defence caused loads of problems, but I was sure his shot was going to drift wide, because it was that sort of match - as per my opening sentence, so to see the ball nestle into the inside netting was brilliant. And what a difference bringing him on into his best position. Who'd have thought that would work? !!!!! I can imagine, and hope, that he will get the next 3 games in the number 10 role. And apart from only being brought on with minutes to go and being played out of position almost every time, he hasn't really produced what he can do, apart from the few times he has actually been played in the middle. Rooney has actually said that he was holding Louie back from first team action in the same that he did with Max Bird last season. Well, let's see what he can do.

And Mr Cashin - wow, what a debut! He looked like he was the seasoned pro bringing years of experience to a young side. More so than Thompson, nothing fazed him. He just dealt with everything with aplomb and didn't put a foot wrong. not even a misplaced pass! We've got an absolute jewel there!

And the fans - apart from being shocked at Tom's red card for a few minutes, we were LOUD. I got home with cauliflower ears, like I'd been toa rock gig. And it was normal for the ground to be empty within 10 minutes of the final whistle. But not anymore. Walking outside the ground watching people wearing huge grins and singing their heads off is brilliant. It wasn't this good during Stevie Mac 1, and they were great times. I've been a Ram since the Brian Clough years, and this is the best time ever! THANK YOU, YOU RAMS!

Perfectly put Dave. I’ve been a Ram for as many years as yourself, and this is certainly a very good time to support this incredible club

  9. I have no idea what’s going on anymore. I was starting to be a bit more positive last night listening to Radio Derby for 2 hours.
Then whoever is feeding journalists has completely thrown everything up in the air again.

Getting to the point where I want to put my fingers in my ears and chant ‘La la la’ so it blanks everything out.

Main question of the day why would someone start a false thread saying cameras outside pride park, announcement incoming when people are totally stressed out with this? Would get banned with my own answer

BBC Breakfast did two excellent pieces this morning from Pride Park. Maybe the cars etc are from that

    ???

Where does he keep getting this stuff from.. They said on Radio Derby  last week that the administrator was not  happy with how much stuff was being ‘leaked’ to journalists..

Also nothing has been proven from any claims by arbitration or even a court case that we owe money to either of these clubs.. At this moment in time we owe them nothing

I always thought that the name Derby County came from the orgins of the football club being linked with Derbyshire County Cricket Club ?

Anyway, should the worst happen I'm all for the Derby Rams MLB franchise.

Yes that is correct. Created by the chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club as an offshoot of the club. That’s why it’s called Derby County
