The auditors, professionals in the field of accounting, concluded that we complied with the law.
The EFL with no accountancy expertise concluded we didn't.
That is my point. I was saying that the EFL are ignorant and do not know their own laws

Why must they? Conspiracy theory preferred by you?
No, I am merely saying there must be more to it than we are told. Let's face it, we are not privileged or in a position to know all the facts. Why would we be?

It was there in black and white in the findings from the IDC.
The EFL said ok but allegedly didn't understand what they were saying ok to.
Ignorance of the law is no defence. Especially when it is their own laws.

I can't blame them for something that the EFL gave them the green light to do and then retrospectively changed their minds.
That is like me fining you for driving 30 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone but now Ive changed the limit to 20 miles per hour.
So we are lead to believe but where is the hard evidence? I for one can't believe that we are being punished for something that was sanctioned then removed. Any independent board would rip the EFL to shreds, that did not happen. There must be more to it

As the old saying goes 'You reap what you sow' At the end of the day bad decisions have been made by whoever, but ultimately Mel is the owner and if others were making bad decisions it his his train set and he should manage it so.
If your team is not doing what it is supposed to be doing then you o something about it.
I have been saying this for a long time now.

Very happy with the first half an hour especially given it's the first pre-season friendly, it must be damn hot out there, these guys won't have played together much and whilst it's hardly United's first team, and they must have few gears to move up, there is still plenty of expensive talent on the pitch for them.
Not a first team however one player cost 48,000,000 alone. I bet Mel would take that for the whole club at the moment

How’s the new guys doing? Morrison, Baldock, Jags and Aluko
Again early days. Aluko looks tricky at times. Baldock getting in good areas. Morrison is quiet so far. Loving the instant replays is that new for RAMS TV I can't remember them last season

Lively start by Derby.

Not sure about the choice of shorts though. Too ripped for me?

Did I hear that the friendlies were also being shown on RAMS TV? or did I dream that?

Much as I admired jake, I can't understand from all of those 40 bullet points
- what his job delivers, especially as there didn't seem to be any coaching
- why we need this role.
Looks like some sort of middle man administration thing with elements of checking other people are doing what they're supposed to be.
Because Newport County have one and look where they are!!!!!
Obviously planning for the future ?

In all seriousness, please don't let this thread descend into an endless round of puns like some of the others have.

No I just don't get this. Are you saying not having fans at games only impacted Derby? Because Norwich did pretty well along with others.
Bad form purely down to a lack of talent, all the goings on at the club, inexperienced management. etc

nothing more I want to be than positive, but you just have to look at the facts in front of us and be realistic I’m afraid.
New owner, new management team 5/6 quality new players and we’re on the up. Stay as we are, I’ll be looking forward to following the Rams on a league one tour in 22/23
I do agree, my comment was purely tongue in cheek

Where we are now with an even weaker squad from last season whom fail to score goals and fail to keep clean sheets. With Rooney plus the coaching staff who so far have been appalling under two managers still in charge. With the Dads army recruits and misfits currently training with us highlighting our transfer capabilities for this season, we’re down.
I love positivity

Starting line up next season:
GK: Clough & Taylor Statue
RB: Rammie
CB: Private Derby
CB: Derek from Chad
LB: Walking Backwards Man
RM: The King of Rome
CM: Robert Lindsay
CM: Robert Maxwell's Re-animated Corpse
LM: Owen Bradley
CF: The Steve Bloomer Bust
CF: Kenco Coffee Cup
I bet we'd still do better than last season.
I like the sound of private Derby ?

Waggy and wisdom are off as they’ve already got contracts with other clubs.
Several ITK’s were spreading this rumour in the latter stages of last season, stating it was the reason for their poor performances as they didn’t care anymore and it was nothing to do with the management!
Maybe so, but I do not believe for one minute they would just give up and not care. Contracts can be cancelled at any time and if they were to 'just not care' as you have stated, then they would do their reputations unmeasurable damage.

I'm not saying our approach was ideal, but I suppose we thought we could sell them with a year left on their contracts if we didn't get promoted in the first 2/3 years of their contracts. It's not unreasonable to expect some return on £3-6m signings on 3 and 4 year contracts but that didn't pan out. We should have been buying players a couple of years younger on lower wages, but it is what it is.
I think we are around £4m over our FFP loss limit. If so, just not buying Blackman or Anya would have meant we were ok.
Hmm I would have thought the EFL would have taken sympathy and realised our worth dropped as soon as we bought those two
