Good job I've heard it's crap and don't want to watch it.

You can't judge it with out seeing it.

I have heard things that are reportedly crap and found them quite good and the other way round.

At the end of the day, it is personal choice.

If everyone enjoyed the same, life would be quite dull

Did you notice there was no explanation of what this monster was?

So now it ends with everyone living happily ever after in a blind institute with a monster roaming loose out there.

Shouldn't they have at least killed it off for this happily ever after ending?

Actually I have just read that they changed the ending from the original book.

The original ending was when she eventually gets to the "sanctuary" most of the blind are so because they had mutilated themselves in order to survive.

Also the only people who can survive and see would be the insane, which would be a rather scary thought.

I personally don't always like a predictable, 'kill the monster ending'

It leaves more to the imagination and maybe a sequel.

Let's face it. If something like this ever happened, we couldn't guarantee we would defeat it.

    Mary Poppins Returns

Took Mrs Wolfie to see this during the holidays. It has the look, feel, songs and, yes, dodgy accents just like the original - all in a good way. Very poignant in places.

It's a long film for little ones but mine was never bored, which must count for something.

    Good 8/10 from me.

I was taken to the cinema for date night with the good lady and she wanted to watch Mary Poppins.

Not sure how I felt before it started, but as soon as it got going I loved it.

As Wolfie says, not a remake but a move on from the original, but with the same theme.

    8/10

Agree with this... Black Mirror is normally so clever, this time it just felt like a outdated gimmick.

The Road...if ever there was a film that isn't as good as the book. You can't capture the mood and bleakness of the book .which is pretty short too.

Bandersnatch bored the living t1ts off me. The idea that you can influence the ending is great in theory, but if you make certain choices, the film takes you back to the same point after awhile until you choose the opposite choice.

Never have I been so bored.

    -2/10

    Bird Box 5/10

Enjoyed this (mainly because I have a fetish for all things Sandra Bullock) Great idea though.

    Bohemian Rhapsody

I know a fair bit about the Queen story and didn't learn anything new. Outstanding performances from the four actors - Brian May and John Deacon actors were the spitting image. Also enjoyed the Mike Myers cameo and knowing lines.

Pretty frothy, top level stuff, doesn't go into much detail on anything. Odd point to end. But the Live Aid stuff is incredible.

    Enjoyable.

Routine 2-1 win over Blackburn, but with a wonderstrike thrown in for one of our goals.

My last film as well. As you said, great performances all round.

The film was historically inaccurate throughout, especially where the music was concerned. First tour of America and songs sung on stage from 10 years later. but hey I love Queen so could over look that.

I watched 'The Patriot ' on Sunday evening on the recommendation of a friend.

Possibly the worst film i have ever seen in my entire life.

The level of historical inaccuracy is incredible and the Anti-British theme went too far. Mel Gibson literally stabbed the horse of the evil British guy with an American flag ?‍♂️

I'm not really shocked about the historical inaccuracies though as Mel Gibson is involved. Braveheart & Apocolypto were both rife with inaccuracy.

1/10 (i'd like to give it 0 but it had Heath Ledger in so that deserved something)

I have to agree with the historical inaccuracy. Mel Gibson starred in Braveheart as William Wallace who was hung, drawn and Quartered in 1305. The Patriot was set in 1776 - 471 years later. So if he died in 1305 he couldn't possibly be in The Patriot. Total bullsh1t

What's happened to the content count? Seems to have dropped by about 1500.

Probably just got rid of the innate drivel ?

    I couldn't help it

Would you say it's OK for a 5 year old?

My little one is pretty clued up about life & death etc but I'm wondering if this would be too much. Mrs Wolfie suggested taking her to see it but I'm not sure.....

Coco does approach the subject of death and there are a lot of skeletons and scary faces to deal with. However it is done very well.

I guess only you know your childs mind when it comes to these sort of things. I suspect some children will not notice the subject matter and the skeletons where as others will find it scary.

I watched it with my wife as it had been recommended on the radio during BBC 5 lives film review.

We thought it was excellent and I am 55 and a 1/4.

Been Samsung since as long as I can remember. Galaxy Ace 2, S3 (x3), S5, S6 edge, S7, S8, Core Prime - all the family. Not one hardware issue other than a cracked screen.

My wife is Samsung through and through and other than a software issue on her last one, she has had no problems. (Her last one was well overdue an upgrade to be fair). Not for me as I can only go on my experience.

Have you looked at the Huawei p10?

I haven't, other than reading reviews! But it does seem to rate quite highly. Although it does have some less keen reviews too!

I'm still 'browsing' . Always been Android, but who knows, maybe I'll jump ship and move to the dark side. I'm allergic to any device made by Samsung. So with that out of the equation, what is in direct competition with the iPhone 8?

My sister-in-law has one and she swears by it.

By comparison, she has had all of the above mentioned phones (in this topic) so might be an option.

My wife gave up on the iPhone. Met every one of her requirements, but she couldn't accept every single picture I ever took was better quality than anything she took. She's gone Samsung and hasn't looked back.

Hmm while I do agree with the camera being very good. I swapped from an Iphone to a HTC. Loved the HTC it was superb. But last year I decided to try Samsung. What a disaster. It has been back for repairs more times than I care to think about. Eventually it was beyond repair so got a new one. This one is playing up as well. Still have a year on my contract.

Can't justify the outrageous prices to keep up with the Iphone revolution. So I will be looking for some thing else and hoping for the best.

Dave Gorman makes some good points about it here. You can't parcel comedy into discrete units, and you can't judge the gag without the context it was told in.

    http://gormano.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/ch-ch-ch-changes.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook&m=1

That is a fair point and I am fully aware that the delivery/timing is very important and the context and also the overall content of the subject.

I just think as a one liner this is pretty tame from all that talent

I don't know but I bet the authorities gave them a right grilling.

Of all the jokes in the thread so far, this is by far the best ^^^

How long was the Edinburgh fringe? How many comedians attended? and finally how many shows did they put on?

And after all that the best joke was "I'm not a fan of the new pound coin, but then again, I hate all change". I am so pleased I decided not to waste my money.
