Not seen the highlights yet but my initial reaction was that it wasnt a penalty

I assume the referee had watched all the seasons videos of Derby County and assumed those were the decisions that had to be given as a penalty but hadn’t realised we were playing in White

So they then do the same in the away leg? Great plan!

we gave them 2600 apparently and been given 2373 in return. It’s hardly unfair is it. And like someone mentioned I think we’d want to do the same in return if could get promotion. Would you rather extra derby fans there or some away fans?

I was overseas when we played Sheffield  Wednesday in our home game but out of interest why were they only given 2600 - was it police advise or something strange when we have had many more away fans attend like Oxford etc. There hasn’t t ever been any real bother with them.

You just highlighted my point. It’s all well and good beating the poor teams and Didzy filling his boots against the cannon fodder, but to get promoted we need to beat the better sides in the division.

Under Warne we just haven’t stepped up yet when it really matters.

We’ve been doing rather well with what we scrapped together imho

I rather go up this season and perhaps get rid these stupid restrictions now.

The restrictions are in place because the football club didn’t pay the full amount owed by the club to survive - we have to be seen to not be spending recklessly. It’s nice not to see us wasting shed loads of money on useless players - even if a signing doesn’t work out currently it doesn’t cost us a fortune.

Well guys I personal think we going to make the play offs so teams currently in them.

    Barnsley

    Bolton

    Derby

    Shiffield wednesday?

    Ipwhich town ?

I personal would not mind eathier of them I think we stand a good chance of winning these sides of 2 legs and getting to Wembley and winning at wrembly going back to the champership.

    What do you guys think.

Anyone - I don’t care but we are not there yet so let’s make it first

Surprised at how many are left! Hoping for general sale but will be very few if any that make that.

It’s a strange one - if they need the game to win etc they will take the bottom tier as they have blocked out the front 3 rows of the top tier - if it means nothing to them then they will open up the front 3 rows to DCFC and maybe open the bottom tier as well I’m my opinion

What can be said is that the view ( or non view from far to many seats) from the upper tier is one of the poorest around, again in my opinion

Doesn’t the exact same scenario apply to us and Wednesday?

hopefully we can win at home Saturday against a side with nothing to play for.  That leaves posh needing two wins which looks doubtful

barnsley away is just as tough as Wednesday away for us. Matching their result should be enough. Think we’d have all taken that a month ago.

With only 4 draws this season Peterborough simply win or lose this season

  8. Needed 3 points we got 3 points

I thought Sibley had a good game along with quite a few others - Burton didn’t come to play any kind of football that I like to watch but it is what it is

Best moment of the game was Captain Davies yelling at Roberts to take the ball of Cashin who was about to take a throw in next to the Burton corner flag in the 85th minute - 1-0 in front needing the win and one of the centre half’s is lining up to take a throw in 🙄 well done Davies !

Fair play to Burton for their achievements, but personally it does irk me that so many small clubs are achieving these days. I know that's an arrogant statement to make but it is a sickener that the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton are clogging up the PL with Luton, Hull and co in the championship and then there's us and Wednesday in the dirt.

It may be just me personally but would i'd rather watch Wednesday v Ipswich over Brentford v Bournemouth or Luton v Rotherham any time.

Anyway i think Burton will annoyingly put a performance in (as they always do) but we'll have just enough this time to scrape a win.

    2-1 Derby.

Yes the premiership is absolutely wetting itself at the thought of keeping Bournemouth and getting Burnley back whilst losing the likes of Leicester (don’t care) Leeds (LOL) and Southampton (I hope they survive) - not mentioning the ones we all want to watch go pop

Sam Smith would be a risky move. He's scored 5 in 5, but only 6 in the 36 league games before that. 15 league goals last season, but his previous best was only 7 and that was in League 2.

Josh Key is 23 which means compensation. Championship clubs are already interested, so no chance

Harsh to say that, unlikely maybe but players will decide where they want to play when they have a choice. Despite needing to pay a compensation fee we could always appeal that fee past our restrictions or even agree with the previous club when we could actually pay cash to them. We could even loan them a player to match up the cost of a deal who knows. What I am basically saying is that it is always possible to do a deal if the parties are willing.

As much as I dislike the way the EFL handled our case, credit where credit is due, they have finally realised the damage parachute payments are causing and highlighting it to the government.

The Premier League are only interested in the Premier League, that much is clear, they don’t give a toss about the rest of the football pyramid other than ensuring the gulf between the 2 leagues doesn’t get too big and encouraging clubs to go for it risking the future of the club with the golden pay day on relegation incentive.

Absolutely no way they can justify the payments, we can adjust rules to allow clubs to fall inline with FFP without handing out what, £30m a season or whatever it is now.

Sky Sports isn’t the worst thing to happen to football, the breakaway of the Premier League was.

Football needs one governing body that has an interest in sustainability from top to bottom. This will ruffle feathers at the very top as they claim to be unable to compete in Europe, yet Europe would follow I’m sure of it. Look at La Liga who are starting to apply pressure on Barca restricting what they can do.

Premier League clubs are leading the way in spending and it will only get worse unless someone comes in and takes control, if that means losing 5 or 6 clubs to a closed shop Super League, so be it. We’re at the point where we can no longer let them dictate how the game is run and who gets what money.

Yet again I say the EFL can introduce a handicap system for clubs accepting parachute payments - minus 16 points should be about fair - all they need to do is vote it in

Based on current form we don’t “deserve” to be 7th. We would be much lower than that. At the end of the day though, we deserve to finish where actually finish based on the season as a whole (unless you believe the conspiracy theories of course in which case we deserve to finish as champions but have been cheated out of it. “duck the EFL duck the EFL duck the EFL” 😀).

With the officials not being so determined to constantly give extremely suspect decisions against us we would have easily been cemented into the play off positions and that’s avoiding us not scoring from a shedload of chances

I think I agree with you up to a point. I don't think the gulf is as great as you say. We were in the championship last season and would have comfortably survived but for the points deduction. I think it could be argued that we have a better squad this season, if not better then as good. But be that as it may I tend to agree that it won't hurt for us to stay down another season and build. Also to do so while the final year of the business plan restrictions we are under expire so that if we are promoted at the end of next season we will be able to pay fees and compete properly

Do you really think we have a better squad this season ? - I don’t - we could have done with McGoldrick last season !

McGoldrick in this division is a cheat code.

Refs in this league are a cheat code every other week
