We don’t welcome the situation that has arisen and we feel terrible for RK; but there is a reality that cannot be ignored. I’m doubtful that RK’s appeal will be successful but I suspect the impasse will be fixed by both sides coming together and reaching a compromise. I suspect that Derby will keep the current offer of a reduced contract on the table and I suspect RK will eventually accept it realising that he now has to work at building a future for himself as a former footballer.

Or, he could take the England job and bang on about how lucky he feels getting the job. Then film a black and white video of himself standing on the Wembley pitch looking at the stands- maybe throw a photo of him staring at a photo of Alf Ramsey holding the world cup into the mix.
In twelve months he could have Uncle Harry on Talk sport banging on about how England can do one as the Brazil jobs become available and he's off .  We can then have 6 weeks of build up destroyed while he goes on holiday pretending he's considering his options and getting his back room staff in order.  One week before the world cup he can leave England with a couple of half arsed warm up's against Papau New Guinea and The Galapagos  and half a squad of players. Pre tournament training will be ran by Jimmy' five bellies' Gardner as no-one can be arsed to turn up and take it.

So any plan they did have involved approaching Alex Neil. And now they’ve cocked that up. And Preston say there is now absolutely no way they’ll speak to them, and not only that, but they’ve now been reported.

The players involved in the accident were only in one group - they are the ones who stayed after the team bonding event. The videos show most of them with drinks in hand.
The statement from Derby says “A small group, including the team captain Richard Keogh, continued drinking into the night,”. Lawrence and Bennett are both clearly pissed in the videos, but if you think Keogh was sat in a corner on his own and then got into the car with a blindfold on then yes im sure your scenario is plausible.

You’ve solved the entire case!
Keogh went for a nap without telling anyone early in the evening. Just before midnight he was awoken. Confused and unaware of what was going on, Keogh sprung up in the backseats of Lawrence’s car (obviously without a seatbelt as he was sleeping in a previously stationary vehicle), startling the driver and temporarily paralysing him as the car hurtled towards the car in front. Lawrence panicked, thinking he had a zombie in the back of his car, fleeing the scene and dragging two of his teammates along with him. It was only when the adrenaline subsided he realised it was the team’s captain in his car. They returned to check on him soon after. Meanwhile, the first responder approached the recently awoken Keogh who still thought he was dreaming, was questioned for his name. He responded with his dreamworld name.

I hope it hasn't /doesn’t kill Jones career, just a rum situation to try to take on. Given the notional talent in the stoke squad even a duff manager should be safely mid table because the 11 on the pitch aren't all that bad.
From without, it seems Stoke is a toxic steaming pile of squitty dog poo, and the football club just as bad (can't comment on port Vale tbh)
