Stive Pesley got a reaction from Chester40 in The Administration Thread
Yeah of course I see that as better for us, the fans
I'm asking why it makes any difference to our mega-rich suitors who want to own the ground as part of the deal and not have a third party own it..

It's becoming increasingly clear that the current system REALLY doesn't work
MMT only doesn't work when you have a corrupt government using it to funnel money in the wrong direction (to the already super rich) rather than using it to create an equal sustainable society

Have a read into it. Not just that link, have a mooch around t'web and see what you think then. If you've got your own currency debt is not an issue. Its such a basic principle that when you realise it you think it can't be right.......its too simple!

Stalin apparently believed Netherlands and Holland were two different countries and nobody had the guts to tell him otherwise

It’s a big debt, who will we pay it to?

I'd not seen that. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of running a dictatorship. When you scare people so much they daren't actually tell you the bad news

I pointed out similar a few days ago. It seems that some people are only interested in the results of trials that confirm their own theories.

Can we lay this Ivermectin nonsense spouted by the idiot 'Dr' John Campbell to rest finally? Or are we waiting on yet another trial which will no doubt reveal the same results as all the others?
Largest trial to date

Interpretation of statistics by a non-statistician is open to cherry-picking and confirmation bias. Statistical analysis has been part of my life for more than 50 years, so I very much doubt that the people you are referring to when you say "...and more qualified than you in that area who totally disagree with your interpretation" are statisticians.
I have categorically proved to you that there have been in the order of 160,000 'excess deaths' since March 2020 - I didn't say WHY the excess deaths occurred - merely pointed out the correlation.
I have also categorically proved that your assertation that the 'five previous years had far fewer excess deaths than normal' was incorrect.
I spent six hours on that analysis today, taking things further than the ONS do by taking into account the changes in the population of England and Wales, and doing so for the last 16 years.
Something happened between March 2020 and today which has effectively caused the death of 160,000 more people in that period than in any other corresponding period since 2005, and you still cannot bring yourself to agree with me over anything. I sometimes wonder whether we exist on the same planet.

There do appear to be 3 outstanding charges/loans against the club
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00049139/charges
The first one from August 2020 is against the ground
The second one from October 2020 is against the ground PLUS the academy
The third one appears to have been taken out by Quantuma in November 2021
God knows what this all means, but it's unclear to me where the loan amounts are officially stated (if anywhere). People seem pretty convinced they know the figures, but are they just repeating hearsay?

It means MSD has us by the short and curlies and that needs sorting by someone soon.

My song of choice in that specific circumstance would be...

I`ve mentioned this before, and forgot about it TBH. If it`s guaranteed against the Stadium then it becomes MM issue or MSD take the Stadium.
I look at it this way. If MM has to gift the Stadium to save the Club, it costs him £20m to settle the loan.
If the Club is liquidated, he has to pay £20m, but still owns the Stadium and land etc
If MSD take the Stadium, he loses no additional money.
Now place in order what makes most financial sense to MM.

Stive Pesley reacted to Geriatram in A very sad post
My friend has not long left of his life, He has terminal cancer and has maybe only weeks to live. He had his first season ticket when he came out of the army in the mid fifties, and has had it every season since, and then when he married in 1963 his wife had one too, they never missed a home match, but then covid came along and they have not been again. We have a mutual friend who lives in the USA he is in the UK this week end and is taking my friend to what is likely to be his last match ever. I'm just hoping if there are any protests it wont affect the match. So please spare a thought or a prayer if your so minded on Saturday. I wont say his name as he hated social media as much as he loved the Rams. So UP THE RAMS P will be thinking of you.

I think he was struggling 3 years ago and wanted out. There weren’t any reasonable takers for a loss making institution at the time. Then Covid came alone and reduced revenue even further. Probably doubling existing losses instantly. If we were losing 10 million per season pre Covid we were losing 20 million during Covid. Any club or business would have gone into admin at some point in those circumstances; especially when it’s owner/backer didn’t have more capital to inject. so Mel borrowed big money from MSD. As a loss making business that is very difficult .. and virtually impossible without giving huge security on the loans .. that security was PPS. Mels own wealth will have declined outside DCFC .. remember the investment market was 30% down mid Covid and prior to vaccines.
With hindsight it’s pretty simple. The one that shocks me is how the HMRC debt got so big but again I think Govt depts were forced to be lenient during the pandemic.

Does anyone?? He's widely reported as being worth £500m but we can conclude that net worth does not = cash-rich
However, the worrying thing for me is that his Companies House page has always been a rats nest of intertwined holding companies and splinter companies. He even has two entries for himself as an Officer (which I didn't even think was legal?)

Even now - with "THE DERBY COUNTY FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED " in administration since last year, he's still an active director of multiple Gellaw Newco companies (202 through to 205), Gellaw 101 Limited and Sevco 5113 - all of which appear to be related to DCFC, as well as Stadia DCFC Ltd, DCFC Academy Ltd and Derby County Stadium Limited. These are all still active companies (ie not in Admin)
