We didn't start the game with 10 men though did we, only went down to 10 around 50 mins. Either way, weather we score the penalty or score just before it it's still only one shot overall.

Thats still 40+ minutes with 10 men away at the best team in the league.

Scored 4 at pboro and 3 at burton so we are hardly gun shy!

Not guessed, but assumed (and assumed wrong). The ball hit Wildsmith in the chest/stomach, but his arm was out and he dived into the ball. You would have to have superhuman cognitive reasoning to see that in real time. I think 90% of refs give it as handball - 90% of the ground thought he handled it.

There wasn’t even much of a protest from our players aside from Wildsmith - watching it on RamsTV it looked like a stonewall red card. It took a camera angle looking right down the barrel that proved it wasn’t, but you can’t blame the ref for that. It’s just one of those things.

Assumed and guessed not a lot of difference in definition is there?

He either seen it or he didnt.

You cant say its anything other then poor officiating when the ref didnt blow straight away so he wasnt sure and the linesman didnt flag so he clearly wasnt sure either.

Cant be guessing/assuming that somethings happened but unfortunately the officials did.

As annoying as the red card was, now knowing that he didn’t handle it, honestly don’t blame the referee for sending him off. He dived with his arm out and despite his protest, it looked like a stonewall red card. Refs don’t have the ability to watch the game in slow motion, unfortunately.

What did irritate me, however, was the handball which should’ve been a penalty and then the rugby tackle. I felt his general management of the game was terrible. So, while I can forgive him for the red card, he’s an appalling referee in general. He was one of the worst we had last season too, which also caused us to lose a big game away.

I would make a request, if possible, that he just be blacklisted from our games.

How can you give an excuse for the red? He clearly didnt know wildsmith handled it which is why he played on before pulling it back and then asked the linesman who didnt even flag for it.

They guessed!! And obviously guessed wrong.

Who are these players that are going to play fast, vibrant, passing attacking football?

Méndez Laing, who can’t last 60 minutes and is equal measures frustrating and exciting?

Smith and Hourihane, who can only prosper on the ball when they are given the freedom of the continent?

Sibley and Barkhuizen, who can’t stay fit or find enough consistency to get a place in the team?

Cashin, who only has a sweeping long ball in his locker?

Let’s be honest, we have a squad which is not above this level and isn’t particularly blessed with technically strong players who can play good attacking football against all comers. This is why our play orbited around McGoldrick for 70% of the season previously.

The only one who is really fit for a passing team is Bird, and currently he is injured and come January, he might be on the move.

If you want to see a good passing team, @CornwallRam is right. It will need time, patience and investment.

    What a post!

I have no stats to back it up but under warne we always look like scoring i would imagine our xg proves this in comparison to rosenior or rooney or cocu?

I know i am in the minority but i am happy to be more direct instead of passing sideways and backwards.

Too many fans dont know the difference between possession and domination/control of a game

It depends but it’s far more plausible it would have been structured, say:

    £750k upfront.

£250k per year over four years.

£150k for every 10 PL appearances up to £1.5m

£750k if Brighton finish in the top four.

Regardless if the club got 4m up top or the above that only helps us off the pitch.

On the pitch we would have been weaker!
