If we went 3-4-3 they’d possibly be the two wide forwards with Collins or Washington from our current options through the middle. 3-4-2-1 like we ended the season they could play as the two behind the central striker, both capable of doing so in my own limited view.
Elder and Ward would then play either side of the “midfield” 4 in either of those formations, essentially still the wingback role, overlapping and creating space/crosses/passes for the 3 forwards. It’s got some real potential if the players buy into it and can make it work on the pitch.

So 3 centre backs with 2 centre mids and 2 wing backs and 2 centre attacking midfielders behind 1 striker? Sounds tasty but think he'll want 2 strikers

Hard to call if we are going to play a 352, 3412 or a 343 (with inside fowards or number 10's).

Either way our our back 3 looks solid now.

Don't see where they all fit in, elder and ward are clearly wing backs in a 5 man Defence but if we are playing 2 strikers which I think he will , then where do NML and barkhuizen go? Confused 😂

Do you know that for a fact or Derby farmed him out in order to help cover his wages and keep him in a bigger shop window? Maybe Derby didn’t try too hard or at all to encourage him to stay/come back. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Let's not forget beilik forced arsenal to sell him by saying he wanted to be in the first team or leave , so it's very logical to assume he indicated something atleast with us last season although it can't be proved

Scored 20 goals in a poor Cheltenham team, for 200k he is well worth the gamble imo.

Scored against us, Ipswich, Plymouth, Sheff W, Wycombe & Peterborough so can do it vs the top teams in the league whi h who we struggled against last season.

Some brilliant & clinical finishes in the below video of his goals last season.

Would be a signing I'd be quite excited about , dont think he's on our radar for some reason though

I’m hoping in the time since Warne’s interview was recorded further conversations have been had and negotiations concluded meaning it’ll be a couple more in this week. I like the idea that the bulk of the squad will be together as early as possible in preseason to give them the best chance to gel as a unit. No idea who though.

I also think we’ll see Bielik’s move away confirmed early in the week.

Agreed , ideally you'd want your main striker in asap to build relationships with the people providing you the service , hope to see bielik go tbh so we can spend a bit on a striker

Twine is English. Knight wouldn’t get in the England team so that isn’t a differentiator. And Knight never set the champ alight despite his appearances. Obviously I’m no scout so can’t vouch for one or the other having differing potential ceilings. But based on the information listed, I think it is fair to compare the two.

I would take twine over knight any day of the week

I think the difference there is, McGoldrick was always good at doing the stuff he did for us, he just wasn't always used in the right circumstances to get him doing it regularly at other clubs.  Whereas Ward is apparently not great at the stuff we actively want him doing (playing at wingback instead of winger, and crossing), according to the fans who've been watching him regularly for years.

The guy got 11 assists from right back so I couldn't give a monkeys toss what bitter posh fans are saying about his crossing!!!

    From the Supporters Meeting 09/01

"Is there any movement in our business plan due to us overachieving?

The business plan remains unchanged, yet the overall outlook is positive. The club is in regular communication with the English Football League (EFL) but it was emphasised that this will not have any impact on the team’s ability to recruit in January, as we have a wage cap in place."

"Can we do a loan with a view at a permanent deal while under a business plan?

As in the summer, we are currently able to sign players for free and/or with a sell-on. We can also take a loan with wage recovery but no loan fee."

When are the restrictions going to end ffs the poison has left the club
