Wigan spent a 600k fee last season straight out of administration. If we want to spend a fee and the EFL agree to it within the framework of the business plan then we can crack on.
If we would spend one fee I would probably like it to be a promising striker , but a young attacking left back is quite an exciting prospect none the less , impressed with the transfers so far , couldn't of imagined this a few months ago , nice feeling ?

I showed him your reply. He called you a "stat man Bamford". He says you should watch him play and see the things he does and not base your opinions on Google!
Is he serious? HA if someone scored 25 goals in a league then he is above " ok " in said league thats a fact not opinion

My friend who’s a Northampton town season ticket holder said “We’ll ask for loads. He’s Powerful, quick attacking full back, better going forward than defending, relies on his pace to help him defend & has quick feet. Was always at the start of our attacks because Robbo would roll the ball out to him & would just run through the teams. Also, he’s the face of our new kit launches so think the club expect him to stay“ Northampton had the best defence in England last season so it’s a no brained from me
Do we have funds to spend on players?

How do we have the money? They turned down a 6 figure sum from wycombe earlier in the year?

Your colleague must be obsessed with taking the green leaf too , " okay in league 1 " he scored 25 league goals in league one , If that wasn't bad enough he also says " really struggled in the championship " when in actual fact other than this season at Cardiff he had 2 years in the championship and scored 14 goals one season and 10 in the other season in a poor Luton side in both them seasons , please stay away from your colleague ???

Another hard working player in! I really like how our squad is shaping up.
A striker for my liking, proper menace.
Only downsde of this is the most likely end of CKR's Derby career ?
We've not seen or heard nothing about him have we , I love him ?

Allsop had a shaky start as well, Wildsmith has only had one pre season game a week after arriving, needs time
Also played over 150 games before joining us though where as wildsmith has been used very sparingly over the last 5 years , worries me

I don’t think injury in football is just an age thing…Curtis played virtually every minute last season and Bielik not a lot….just bring in another striker regardless of age….
When I say someone not injury prone I mean not someone like marriot who although he fits the age bracket I would be confident that he wouldn't stay fit all season

How longs a piece of string?
I just want to hopefully see a competitive team this season, where that takes us we'll see.
Can't even think about winning the league this season, it just doesn't feel right, not in July when it's a squad that's been 80% assembled in a summer.
Sign Collins, LB, RB and a backup keeper then replace any departures.
With that we can't really have any complaints at all.
I would prefer wildsmith to be the backup ?

Excellent news, hopefully we can get this one wrapped up tomorrow. That will sort out the ST position Imo.
Cybulski and Stretton won't cut it , which only leaves Collins who will be 32 in a few months and mcoldrick who will 35 in a few months , 46 league games plus early round starts in the fa Cup etc and the johnstones paint trophy cup so we are looking around 55 games , no way I'd be comfortable without someone between 20 and 30 that's not injury prone joining on top of Collins , that would be madness mate

James Collins, record ...
2018/19 - 25 goals for Luton
2019/20 - 13 goals for Luton
2020/2021 - 3 goals for Cardiff
How many will he get for Derby, the jury's out.
I don't put my trust in Mcgoldrick scoring lots of goals.
Players I wanted us to sign Alfie May (23 goals, 2021/22), Cole Stockton (23 goals, 2021/23) and both are under 30.
I would still like us to sign a player similar to Alfie or Cole.
We still need to sign another goalkeeper.
I still see ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday the threats for automatic promotion.
Play offs is more difficult as it's how the team does on the day, rather than how they've performed during the season.
Surely there's quite a few strikers like Cole and Alfie that are currently out of contract at the end of the season just gone , look at how many players we had out of contract , and there's been some of the world's top players in the prem etc going on frees , I'm still adamant you can sign some class players for free including a young striker with a good record

For the right price I would sell. We’re ok in that position and it one that is easier to replace.
We’ve fallen foul of holding on to players for too long and not cashing in, which has lead to the mess we ended up in.
It would also go along way to any future P&S calculations, and also allow us to reinvest in 2-3 players in positions where we need some quality. Essentially exchanging 1 good young player to bring in 2-3 good young players
We are ok in that positon currently but not if a few leave , most of the players being linked with moves away all play in that position , knight , sibley , bird etc , I wouldn't like to lose more than 1.
ideally none at all

Can’t see Sibley going, this season will be the making of him.
I cant see sibley going because he hasn't shown enough for a transfer, also don't see him having a good season as I don't particularly rate him but I'm hoping he lights up the division

We might still attract someone a bit unexpected, like the Hourihane deal, but I would be happy with a few more young additions. Plenty of old heads in the dressing room now, think we could use some energy and pace.
Add some players hungry to prove themselves, perhaps more loans like Roberts, and we'll have a really nice mix.
Forsyth is a must sign, he can still win everything in the air and whip it in to the box. I thought he probably should have been in the team ahead of Buchanan at the end of last season.
Collins and another U23's striker?
Would be happy with Collins, mcgoldrick and a young promising striker, still think we need a rb and someone can play rb and LB for depth and a gk
