jono reacted to Ram-Alf in Jagielka
I never missed an episode ?
As an aside, A few years back I bought a Ford Focus, It's number plates had 3 digits along with others and were XL5, I bought it for £900 in the hope of selling the number plate, Got the V5 back and on it it said "number plate can not be sold seperately", Also it had a lowered suspension, My drive was on a slope so when driving on and off i'd scrape the sills, A couple of moths later sold for £350...ouch lesson learned.

I’ve nearly used up my like quotient. If you didn’t get one, I’ll try next game. ?
Magic .. Not surprised Shinnie had a tough game .. did his job ! which is to allow Max to operate higher up.
3 points in the bag Forest on Zero, Boro lost. Right you Rams … Saturday is coming .. who’s up for it ?

Tough game this one, but they're not great at defending IMO so let's play the same way we did against Hull, use the speed and fluidity we showed there and we're in with a good chance of back to back wins. I'd be more than happy to take a draw in all honesty but a win will be oh so satisfying if not just to see Warnock ranting and raving at the end for some deemed injustice and Gibson chewing on a lemon.

I take it that you’re not a cricket fan? Jimmy Anderson is the worlds highest wicket taking fast bowler with 626 wickets and a wizard at making a ball move in the air. You could argue that he is the greatest cricketer of all time if he could actually hold a bat.

jono reacted to England Ram in Jagielka
I remember watching McGrath in that season and what a joy he was to behold.
Positional sense and speed of thought above anyone I’d seen play in defence for Derby.
I’m 45 now so never got to see the champion winning team but have seen the likes of Wright, Hindmarsh, Stimac etc but for that one season Paul McGrath was absolutely immense.
I remember him tracking a runner who had beat him for pace as a ball was played through and in stride Paul back healed a clearance further than some were able to make a normal clearance. The striker turned to look at him and just shook his head in disbelief.
If Phil Jagielka can bring us even a fraction of what McGrath gave us in his one season we will find ourselves safe and secure for another year.
Yesterday was a promising start.

jono reacted to Rampage in Jagielka
I had a Reliant Robin. I strapped a Jag V6 onto the roof. I got my mate to try it. I have not seen the car or my mate since. Apparently if I had used the straight 6 it would have had a similar effect. Haha. With such good acceleration you can not only go off topic but you can do it very quickly and none of the mods have a car that can catch you so no problem there. Haha just about to watch a rerun of the game and keep an eye on Jag (...).

Very good Rampage, ??. Thorough, detailed and witty, as usual. You get your first gold star anorak badge for research. When our Phil was born however ?.. the XK straight 6 was Jags pedigree. It is Jaguars version ofa Brian Cloughie Derby team Multiple Le Mans 24 hours winners. It starred in road cars from the XK 120, 150, and went on to power Inspector Morse in his MK 2 and then the E Type, (the first production car that could do 150 MPH and at less than half the price of a Ferrari ) It found its way in to the XJ6 towards the end of its days
On the track it was in the Beautiful C type and the king of them all , the magical D type .. iconic piece of motoring history
The XF was somewhere between a Ford and a Tata motors creation for a different world. Good engine, but Championship play off motor when compared to a Top 6 Premier league XK.
I haven’t even started on Ferrari’s Columbo V12. It’s basic block and head design didn’t change for 40 years. ..Don’t get me going ? … if you have ever heard a 4 cam 275 GTB at 7,000 RPM … it’s the crowd when we win the Prem
ooooh .. this might be just a bit off topic !

Your so right about the style of play ! Leaving out our old boys at the back , there are a lot of very young lads in the this team, full of the energy and drive that you have at that age. Let them go out and play to their strengths !

I assume Lawrence will slot back in if fit as he is captain. I guess it's possible that if he is not 100% he might come off the bench which would make sense? I agree with some comments that neither Sibley nor Lawrence should be an automatic first name on the teamsheet based on current form but I guess we will see tweaking of the team based on fitness and minor knocks as well as managing the youngsters.

I'm a Tom Lawrence fan, I confess, but I think we really need to establish a meritocracy here and stick with it. Unless fitness or injuries force our hand, I can't see any reason to change the side at all. The Tom Lawrence we saw when he returned for the last 9 games or so last season would obviously get a start, but there's no harm in letting him earn his slot back. He's not quite operating at that level yet, so let's not fix what isn't broken and give last night's side a chance to show their performance was no fluke.
More importantly though, I'd stick with the style of play. Can we please NOT revert to simply trying not to lose games? We look a different side when we look to get forward at pace and I'd rather see us losing games trying to play football the right way than the alternative.
As last thought on the newbies...I've touted Jags and Morrison enough already, much to the chagrin of some on here, but I wasn't so sure about Sam Baldock. Suffice to say I thought he was excellent last night. Seems an intelligent lad too and I'm hopeful he could prove something of a steal if his debut goal has breathed a little confidence back into him. Have to say, all three look good given their lack of football and you'd have to think there's a deal more to come yet too once they've got some games into their legs.

I'd certainly rotate jags & Davies with stearman, although Jags looks fit as duck (not in a broke back mountain way)

Not granted - it’s a waste of a perfectly innocent Egg - besides it’s rude - 3 points instead with goal scorers from our Academy
