I think there are very few 10 million payers in the championship other than those with Parachute clubs. We cannot and will not be competing with Parachute money. I suggest that there will be no signings above 1 million. There will be deals, trades, swaps, loans and hopefully surprise finds.

If the Adams conversation is all about the difference between 250k and 500k then we have an idea of the sort of funds we are going to be talking about.  If a business has a turnover of 30 million a wage bill of let’s say 20 million and an owner who wants it to more or less break you don’t need to be a mathematician to make a reasonable guess as to likely expenditure. Well that’s my deduction anyway

Personally I think the midfielder tightened up when he came back into the team and him and  Ebu worked great together. With Bird and Houllane we were wide open all the time.
For me thats my 2 centre midfielders for next season .

Dropped out of the team….following the knee injury he suffered on the pitch against Bristol Rovers on 25/11/2023 and subsequent recovery time of several weeks? Having been involved in all 17 league one matchday squads up to that point including playing 90 mins in 10 of those games? The same Korey Smith who seems to be a well liked and respected member of the squad and has from the outside seemingly always conducted himself as a top pro and played out of position for the cause? 🤔

Absolutely brilliant news. I’ve always had a soft spot for them ever since I had a kick around with their reserve team when I stayed at Pontins in the 70’s when I was a kid.

Update on my "another one bites the dust" thread. Torquay have new owners a new manager AND have taken Neil Warnock on as a Director.
Torquay was his first management job  before moving on an up.

I think you’re right @Srg. Played 35 games for Oxford in league one, providing 6 assists in the 21/22 season.
For Barnsley it’s 9 goals and 5 assists in 41 league one games the season just gone, 4 goals and 6 assists in 40 league one games last season, and did play 24 games for them in the championship in 20/21.
Came through at Liverpool’s academy and has plenty of experience as a 25 year old. Could be a good option on a free to strengthen in midfield.

I was implying the club found out, as in they didn't like him leaking info, so took care of him.  Not that he was full of poo...  BT has been the only ITK-er who I pay any attention to.
This is why I despise post season, it's not so much the endless bulls*** that gets thrown around on socials, by divs trying to get clicks & likes, it's the amount of gullible a******** who believe it, then start kicking off when it doesn't happen...

jono reacted to Dimmu in How much do you think we have to spend on actual transfer fees?
Without any figures, I'd expect it to be low and used to Adams and 1-2 others with small transfer fees. Add multiple loans and around half a dozen free transfers and we should be around there.
Just a guess, but I'd expect us to use the "transfer" money like last season: sign so-called free transfers, and pay higher wages for more quality. Free transfer is a misleading term though.

Gary Rowett got far too much stick at the time, and his football was nowhere near as bad as is made out.

The fans haven't yet got over the 11 point season. We spend so much timing worrying what might happen after a promotion, we don't actually concentrate on going up. It's taken Warne to get us to focus on the job in hand. Worry about what comes next when you are there.
The attitudes of fans compounded the mistakes of Mad Mel. After the joyous first season under Mac 1, we all got entitled and behaved like spolit babies that we weren't both  walking the league and playing incredible football too. The resulting atmosphere then wasn't helpful to the team for a number of years. The team needs the fans support when they are struggling.
The opposition has a rather large impact in how a match goes.
Most other teams have as much bad luck as us, as many terrible decisions against them and screw up just as much when the pressure is on.

Forest are a bigger club than Derby, and have a more successful history (their winning two European Cups back to back ranks above anything we have achieved). It's OK, given the size of the respective cities you would expect them to be, and seriously trying to claim the reverse because we had a bigger attendance on any given day makes us look a bit silly.

It’s boring if you can’t have a disagreement. If you can make statements unchallenged does that mean you’re always right ? Or is it that you need to get things off your chest without consequence ? Isn’t that what therapists are for ?
I’d stick with the old .. I don’t agree with what you say, but defend absolutely your right to say it. (And anyone else’s right to disagree )
    I’d rather win 5-4 than win 1-0
Sod this good foundations stuff 🤣

i wouldnt be paying a fee for anybody over 25. He did very well for us but i dont think hes experienced enough at the championship level to justify paying a fee. Another loan then i would snatch your hand off.

Why haven't we published the list yet?
    1. PW said a few months back that no new contracts would be offered until after the season.
    2. Following the last game the lads had a couple of days on the razz and then went to Vegas for more razzing. Now they are back PW can inform, face to face, those who are to be let go and start negotiations with the agents of players he wants to keep.

Is it really any surprise we haven't published the list yet?

2 chants against plymouth argyle that stood out for me about 18 years ago.
One of their fans was a big fat lad and he had a green and white wig on. All the away section pointed him out and sung "whats that in the green and white wig is it a monster, is it a monster"

Also at that same game we sung:
Your dad is your mother, your sister is your brother, you all sh*g eachother, the argyle family

As someone who hates Argyle, it was the greatest day ever. We won 2-1 if I remember.
