Going to the first match after relegation to Lg1 is a most depressing moment to fans of most teams, but for us, it was the joy and relief that we still had a team to support and a hope that we would never take that for granted again. Watching our players come out of the tunnel to start that game was really emotional, realising how close we were to losing it all.

    Massive Leeds, the facts.
In the nine seasons they were in the championship, before Covid.
    Average attendance 26,277.
    Three seasons in League One.
    Average attendance 25,001.
Roughly 10,000 empty seats every week.
Derby nine seasons in the championship roughly the same period.
    Average attendance 27,268.
    Two seasons in League one.
    Average attendance 27,349.
    Derby consistently massive.

Yes, I'll be following him as well during the Euros.
Regarding his maturity, I felt that he was already mature beyond his years when he was at Derby.
One of the problems with having loanees, is that sometimes our own youngsters get pushed back and aren't given the chance.
Take Dajaune for instance, imagine if he was a Spurs youngster who'd just had a great loan at Gateshead, we'd all be screaming to get him on loan at Derby for this season, but many are saying that he's not ready.

No I disagree, we need an improvement on Vickers then if Vickers shows good form in training he can challenge the new number 1.

What are our early aspirations for next season, prior to any signings?
Personally, I would be happy to consolidate our position in the Championship without spending too much money. If we could steer clear of the relegation dog fight and flirt with the top half, I would be happy.
This would give us a platform to build upon and aim for the play offs the following season, all the while, steadily improving the quality of our team.

Also Langstaff at Notts looks likely to stay, after accepting the captaincy there for next season. I would have thought that it would have been odds on that he would have been playing in a higher league next season.

To miss out on promotion, we would have to have been 6 points worse off.
If we had gained 5 points more we would have been champions.

The only previous occasion DCFC have been promoted from the 3rd tier in my lifetime was under Arthur Cox. As much as I loved Arthur and his team, I remember how frustratingly inconsistent they were in the promotion season. The biggest difference between the two teams, and what gave Warne's team an 8 point advantage, was their ability to turn draws to victories, whereas Arthur's team let an awful lot of leads slip IIRC. Had the play-offs existed at that time, they wouldn't have even gained automatic promotion. Thank goodness there was no internet either eh?

I think that we would be well happy with 15pts from the first 10 games, that's on course for 69 points over the season and a probable top 10 finish. A point a game will be ok for the first ten games, whilst the new team are settling in, before pushing on for the remainder of the season.

Maybe he'd be in the squad if he'd had an impressive season in a promotion winning team, rather than a struggling relegation team?

Unsurprisingly, Villa are amongst 6 Premier clubs, the other 5 being forest, fester, Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea, who need to sell players before the June 30th deadline, to comply with FFP.
It shouldn't come as a surprise to them that between them they need to offload tens of millions of pounds worth of players and that there are a limited number of clubs out there with spare funds available from their 23/24 accounts year. It's going to be a buyers' market out there and teams like forest should realise that they're going to struggle to get what they want for these players or will have to let go players that they would rather keep.
Now the Premier League have set a precedent, maybe they will think that a £35m excessive loss is worth a 4 point penalty, if it means keeping a top player.
