Has DC lost faith in the recruitment process?
RadioactiveWaste replied to sage's topic in Derby County Forum
In answer to the title, no I don't DC has lost any faith, he's given trust to those who are doing the running and will almost certainly consider himself to new to ownership to be an authority on the risks and rewards of recruitment of players. As long as there are no obviously terrible deals (and i mean the deal not is x player good) I don't think he'd have any reason to. The team are well placed in the league, they've secured a key target in CBT and avoided panic deals, which as an owner is probably preferable to being begged to stum up a small fortune at short notice for a deal that may not look that attractive because it's what's on the table as the clock ticks down. I'm sure it'll be reviewed at the end of the season. -
Cometh the hour, cometh the teeside perm of justice, the smoggie judge dredd of football, it is of course stephen mr gibson steve and his squad of avenging lawyers.

If plan Dan2 doesn't work out Sainz is surely an option for that seat. Yes Max was better at Torro Rosso but Carlos was not bad and upped sticks on his own terms and forged a credible career across renault, Mclaren and Ferrari and would be a capable no2. The other option might be Sauber as the Audi project comes in. An option less likely but I like is Aston Martin if daddy stroll will finally cut his losses on his crotch fruit.

"Ferrari is Ferrari" as they say, "Ferrari gonna Ferrari" as F1 fans say.

It's been very quiet on the Billy Sharp front? Not even a thread of folks deviding themselves into "yeah but he'd be good" and "no but he doesn't like us and doesn't want to sign for us"

That would obviously be a plus.........

Could bench press the entire squad, which Warne would like. Didn't play at Rotherham, which he wont. Right age for Warne.

Got to admit, i thought it was a BS story when I saw it this morning. Went about my day and, well, he's given up on getting 8 titles after all was initial reaction. Payday and gets to have some sentimental photos of him driving a ferrari but rationally, Charles Leclerc is their guy and they'll Ferrari it up anyway. I am not for a moment suggesting Leclrec is better the Lewis, but Leclerc is in the same elite group (I really really rate him, yes the odd unforced error still when he's trying to overcome Ferrari's Ferrari-ness, but he is seriously good) and it's his team, and of all F1 teams, Ferrari are historically one of the least fair in terms of playing favorites and they've no qualms about screwing over multipul world champions. Although someone did point out there might be an aspect of: If I win at Ferrari, that's something Seb and Alsono didn't manage and I'll retire having won the title at 3 teams, so go on, better that you wee dutch gobshite. And it'd probably really really annoy FIllipe Massa.

Nailed on post of the year.

It did make the forum quite fun when we were given ITK stuff all the time but in terms of actually running the football club, it's tons better this way.

F1 have rejected Andretti's bid to join as an 11th team. Boo. This in effect amounts to saying no one can come in because we're just going to come up with reasons not to let in a new team.

A) Chris Martin B) Ikechi Anya, I thought we'd signed that versatile wide player who'd low key be a big part in a promotion side....I was wrong. Not only was I wrong, I was wrong bigly. C) Fozzy. I thought about saying Bryson but I feel like his injuries led to him declining to far whilst fozzy remains a good value signing. D) So so so so so so so many. I'm going to pump for Anya a second time. It's worse because I believed in him. Also, shout out for lee Morris.

I think we'll get a loan in who no one really knows a lot about but many will become expert in the never make it/wunderkinder debate. Probably a centre half. Probably German.

Plenty of twists and turns yet to come in this season. Maybe someone is due a bad february.

Have we played an unusual amount of teams with new managers this season? Just kind of seems like we've had a few but I could be wrong on that. -
Are the QFs onwards getting BBC coverage?

How about.......... ......................... ......................... .........i got it............. ..........a new hat! But like, a really fun hat? with sparklers and a snow globe bobble featureing pride park for a bobble, somehting like that? It would: Inspire the players to play more fun football. Distract the crowd when they don't play fun football. Be a way to intimidate rival coaches. Gain it's own sentience and gradually take over coaching duies full time. Then, once it has extracted all off the host's football brains, leap onto the nearest head leaving the pervious host a barely cognizant babbaling imbiciele (fit only for Sky Sports). At this point, I think DC's best option is developing the semi-organic mind vampire hat and putting it on PWs head.
