I think Nixon is just putting together his own guess based on the various tweets he's read.
Mel has apparently said that we're trying to agree on the conditions with the EFL, presumably re the level of wages as if they have set it unreasonably low (for a Championship footballer) then we are in an effective transfer ban.
    Points deduction by stealth...

My little input regarding the academy involvement.
When Mel took over, he started investing heavily in the academy, which he knew would take a number of years to bear fruit. Investment went into the first team in his 2nd season, which theoretically wouldn't impact the long term prospects of the academy. Involvement of fringe academy players was reduced under certain managers (Pearson, Rowett). I believe Mel has previously suggested he was misled during the interview process Academy products were involved a lot last season, but Buchanan and Sibley in particular should have been used a lot more than they were Minutes given to academy graduates in the league

    Bad recruitment
This could fall under the manager, recruitment or even Mel.
15/16, Pearce/Shackell - Signed both at the same time (4 and 3 year deals respectively), only for Shackell to play in the first season and Pearce to play in the second, with minimal involvement in the other seasons. Why didn't we sign just 1 of them, with Rawson in reserve? 15/16, Olsson - Warnock and Forsyth already at the club with Lowe on the fringes 15/16, Blackman/Camara - We already had Ince, Russell and Weimann, with Bennett on the fringes 16/17, Anya - We already had Ince, Russell, Weimann, Blackman and Camara on the wings. One of the most pointless signings of all time. 18/19, Malone/Cole - Forsyth and Lowe. We also had McDonald on the fringes. 18/19, Jozefzoon - With Wilson, Lawrence, Waghorn and Bennett already as options, we should have given minutes to LThomas, McAllister or JML 19/20, Hamer/Dowell/Paterson - all pointless loans

It’s possible that handing them all contracts is the club trying to say to them ‘we want to sign you, we’re not stringing you along, but until the EFL tell us what we’re allowed to pay you then we can’t put that part in the contract, and we don’t expect you to sign it yet’ but at least they know then that we DO want to sign them.
ETA-I’ve just seen the latest Nixon tweet, it looks like this is exactly why they’ve done it.

I don’t like to criticise, but I don’t think the Punjabi Rams have helped here, I understand why they wanted to get ‘something’ out there quickly, people were almost begging for information, but tweets with limited information wasn’t the best way to do it. There’s no context, no explanation as to when, or why, something was said. Was it in answer to something? Was it a tiny comment amongst a longer statement?
Look at the storm it has apparently caused, that comment on no transfers, people read into it what they want, and now we hear that it’s causing problems with the staff and players, when it’s one interpretation of one comment amongst a 4 hour meeting, by one person.
I completely understand why @David wants to get everything out in one post, when he’s had the chance to get it all down. This is what happens if you get out of context snippets.

Is it just me that reads the academy comment as meaning that in the past the academy players weren’t being brought through, which left us in a worse position to keep some of the others, or to get really good money for them, rather than now?
Rooney has given a lot of them game time, as did Cocu, but before that not many were given a chance, only really Bogle.
At the time we had Lowe, but we bought Malone, who ended up not being used too much in his second year and then going out on loan through to the end of his contract, and we ended up selling Lowe for probably less than we could have got had he played more the year before, rather than having been sent out on loan to Aberdeen. In the end we sold him to let Buchanan through, which is exactly the way the academy should work, in an ideal world, but we likely would have gotten more for Lowe with more game time.
Knight probably could have broken through in the Lampard season, given how quickly he broke through the next year, but instead I think the first time we see him (on the bench) is at Leeds in the play off semi, despite IIRC having had many injuries to midfield players during the season.

Nixon is just gaslighting here. He doesn't have anyone on the inside giving him info.
He seems to indicate they have all been given zero hour contracts with their new on like they work in a Supermarket but he basically covering his own backside as he earlier reported that he knew there was a summit and nobody signing.
His stories are no better than half the kids pretending to be agents on twitter. Might boost his followers though.

This is the problem here. Total chaos. The club have let a load of fans, untrained in comms and PR, to just interpret and share what they heard using any old vernacular. The mixed messages (even via Rams Trust alone!) are causing complete chaos. Add that to the fact not everyone has access to every media outlet - fans aren't getting the full message, let alone the right message! The club would have done much better to release the minutes or a single agreed statement of what was discussed.
I don't envy David at the moment! What he shares will add another interpretation into the mix. Big, and unnecessary responsibility.

Yes, this is what Punjabi Rams said and Wheeler said similar.
Why is it assumed the fault is all Mel's? We all know the EFL is not being co-operative with us. Once again it's people interpreting what is said to suit their agenda.

He didn’t say it. He said (according to Jim Wheeler) that if we lose a few games at start of the season and we see protests and placards saying Mel out etc then it might put off prospective investors. Any protests won’t serve any purpose because Mel himself wants out and has been trying to get out for 2 years.

I agree with Mel’s academy comments and although I appreciate I’m in the minority I would rather watch Cashin develop than Wisdom make his customary howlers, see Bird kick on rather than have another Butterfield at 4m and give Ebosele a go instead of Anya at a combined cost of approaching 10m (fees and wages).

    Totally agree with this.
Those supporters saying it will turn toxic are just stoking the fires by putting the idea into gullible fans heads that it ought to turn toxic, imo.
That is not going to impress any prospective purchasers (of whom we now appear to have three, that's three more than we thought we had yesterday!)
The idea that players can differentiate between criticism of the club and criticism of them is a non-starter.
I want to see how our young team will fare against Huddersfield,  who aren't full of confidence themselves, tbf.
We have enough flair to win this one if we can harness it correctly. Getting behind the lads will surely help.

Sorry, haven't seen your link. This thread is updating really quickly.
I think we're hearing the things that are covered by the NDA so I would expect we won't hear more about the EFL dispute or the potential new owners.
Jim did say that while Mel agrees with Mel out chants, that is exactly what he wants, and that buyers would be encouraged by support rather than protests. As I had earlier made exactly this point on another thread I can't disagree to much with that! ?

I got the opposite impression, Roy. It just goes to show what you hear is influenced by what you already think about a person.
Here's the RD interview for those who would like to listen for themselves. From 7.41.

It's not even half 8... give the guys chance to actually write it all out. They're not professional journalists, some of whom will have had kids to get back to, jobs to wake up to or long journeys to make. Not that easy to whack out a full account of a 4 hour meeting.
I suspect when you read what Daveo will say, and whatever the rest of them say, it will be a lot less inflammatory than what the Punjabi Rams tweeted - which with the lack of detail provided has done nothing but fan flames quite frankly.
Just hold your horses and get angry when we've seen properly what was said.

I remember when Jim Smith took over Derby, the fans were not positive then either.
Maybe this season will be a reset. Wage bill down and if the fans stick with us we may find that this time next season we will be on a more sound financial footing.
Who knows, along the way we may even enjoy watching some of our own youngsters progress through the ranks.
By a club of this stature, do you mean one that has been in The Championship for the last 13 years and, as it stands, is still in The Championship and on the same amount of points as every other team in the division?
I remember in the infamous 11 point season how our fans won admiration for being the 12th man, maybe it is time that we stepped up to the plate again rather than sitting here crying like spoilt little babies who cant get what we want.
After 17 months without being a match, I cannot wait to be back in Pride Park on Saturday getting behind whichever players pull on a Rams shirt. Unfortunately, I think there are plenty who have missed an opportunity to vent their anger who are equally excited.

    WHAT?!
The club has already had my e-mail telling them I am cancelling my season ticket.
My Mel Morris out banner is ready for Saturday.
Why wait for a full report when you can spit your dummy out over 4 or 5 tweets from the Punjabi Rams?
I mean they must have managed to get most of the points from a 4 hour meeting into a few tweets surely?
