I feel he will be warming the bench this season. With captain Keogh, Clarke, Bielik all in front of him in the pecking order. We seem to have this habit, of signing players, giving them 2, 3,  or 4 year contracts and then they can't get in the team in their last year.

Still early days, got to agree there is some positives. We will get better under Cocu leadership. Players still to come back from injury, meaning more competition within the squad. Rooney and the January transfer window to come. 3 at the back looked good and with maybe Lowe and Bogle playing wingbacks. But we must pick up points at home to stay in the race and not end up playing catch up at the end of the season.

I'm sorry to disagree but Lowe was very average on the right side 1st half, not really his fault, they all were.
On the left though, very good, should definitely play there instead of Malone.
3 at the back with Keogh on the right will have to do til  Bogle returns.
Keogh was excellent tonight i thought, Zoon needs to get that cross in earlier and better.
Waghorn and Marriott together worked well, Bielik was good as was Clarke.
Lawrence was good in patches as was Bennett.
Hudz and Dowell both a bit slow and ploddy.

FWIW I didn’t think Dowell had a great game today but some of the posts on this thread are pretty immature and hardly appropriate re personal insults etc.

Unfortunately, the League cup never makes big money for the top 2 divisions until the quarter-finals and beyond. Thats why, in the last 15yrs or so even the championship sides put out weaker teams in the early stages. One other reason being, it gives chance for the manager/coach to look at fringe/U23s players in games that don't disrupt the league form.

plymouthram got a reaction from I know nothing in £4.50 for a pint of Carling
A bit harsh, Carling is a mass produced cheap tasteless lager. I take my hat off to Sheff weds with getting Thornebridge ales in their ground, and just in case if you did'nt know(lagerboy) Thornebridge is a Derbyshire brewery who do superb ales (award winning in fact).

Do we as a fan base moan more than the usual? We literally seem to moan and over react about everything.
At least once a season we seem to abuse a player enough for them to snap back at the crowd, a petition to bring sandwiches into the ground, beers too expensive, not enough choice, the manager didn’t wave at me the list goes on. Is it the same at every club or do we just moan for the sake of it?

I think that if we get Wayne it will his stepping stone into coaching/management. could give us a higher status in attracting rich buyers. I take my hat off  to Mel

plymouthram got a reaction from SKRam in So what do we expect this season
The championship is never predictable, who fancied Norwich and Sheff Utd to take the automatic slots this time last year. I fancy Leeds, WBA, Cardiff to be in the promotion mix (so do the bookies) then expect at least 2 other surprise teams to be setting the pace and pinching a promotion slot. I expect a slow start from the Rams (due to Cocu trying to find his best 11 for certain games). Once he's got that sorted, I think we could be in the mix, lets just hope we don't have to play catch up after a slow start.

Strange to think why Chris Martin and George Thorne are amongst the 26 players out in Florida. They obviously want a future with the club, or want to prove Frank wrong. Where Anya did not go out to the States and is also still under contract with the Rams.

Will be interesting to see the level of players we get in. Depending on how much we get for Johnson, if the rumoured fees for Thomas & Delap are true as well Lampard (& team) compo we could be pushing 10m incoming already.
Plus the savings on wages for the players that have left either released or returned back to their parent club

How about Daniel Stendel, in his short senior management career 88 games 47 wins 24 draws 17 defeats giving him a 53.4% wins. Frank's one season was 57 games 24 wins 17 draws 16 defeats giving him a 42.1% wins.
