  1. I just about managed to bad one phew.
  2. Perhaps he just meant we tried to play difficult passes and he wanted us to chose the easy pass more often. Seems reasonable especially if he was referring to the periods Fleetwood were on top. Sometimes you just have to keep it simple and retain possession.
  3. I’m confused. Does that mean we should try to win the EFL/Bristol Street Motors trophy or not? 😀
  4. I'm not sure I'd say it would be a "huge" failure. As you say, there are three other decent teams who's supporters will have high hopes. It doesn't really matter if the league in general is dire, you only need 2 better teams (to grab the automatic places) and another to be better or luckier on the day (in the play offs) to miss out. The other 20 could be pants. A disappointment and a failure but not a huge failure IMO.
  5. Hello. Somethings woken On Chop up.😀
  6. Trouble is we look more like conceding than scoring right now. Time to settle down and retake control.
  7. I’ve always taken the view that I’d get behind and support any player or manager that came to Derby but, I’d be prepared to make an exception in Barton’s case.
  8. Even if the reason for the defeat has absolutely nothing to do with Bradley? Ridiculous.
  9. Or you can pay for a 24 hour pass through Now TV if you don’t normally subscribe to Sky. That’s what I’ll be doing.
  10. We MIGHT need a couple more points from somewhere but only if Bolton and Portsmouth maintain their current rate of just over 2ppg. Win our game in hand today and we'll be level again with Peterborough regardless of the fact that they beat us last Monday. We'll both be on 49 points from 25 games. Just need to win today (Ideally by 3 goals or more in order to go third). Simples.
  11. It’s possible to share reasonable criticism without it being labelled as negative bile. Defensive mishaps maybe (we may not see exactly the same mishaps in “several seasons” be we, and most clubs, will have several variations every seasons - without trying to hard I can remember Wildsmith’s against Oxford, Ward’s two penalties and a few by Bradley earlier in the season that many seem reluctant to move on from) but there is no denying that Peterborough were noticeably better than us. They may argue that they only conceded due to their own mishaps (being caught cold after 23 seconds and conceding a penalty). For me, there is little point in trying to sugar coat the Peterborough performance, forget about the what’s, if’s and maybe’s. Our unbeaten run was ended fairly by a much better team (on the day). But, we move on and hopefully start a new run of wins (not just being unbeaten) today. There is no reason we shouldn’t other than the fact that this is football and you can’t take any game for granted.
  12. I’m not sure. Wouldn’t a traitor want to try and keep a low profile and not stand out/attract attention? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I watched it for the very first time last night and, whilst I can see the appeal, it wasn’t really for me.
  13. I commented to the person sitting next to me at the Peterborough game that I thought the pitch looked a bit “bobbly”. I guess it is all down to the copious amounts of rain of late.
  14. The shocking thing I discovered only a week or so ago is that Rod Stewart’s rendition is actually a cover version and not an original song of his 😀. Every day’s a school day.
  15. I heard about it on the radio this morning. Unbelievable error of judgement. You couldn’t make it up.
  16. I would have thought it’s obvious that any of us need to have watched a player enough times before we can form such a strong opinion as to call into question our recruitment process if we don’t bid for that player. Fair enough if you’ve seen him a few times. That’s why I said “genuine question” and didn’t assume you hadn’t seen him play much. Regarding being local, OK the ideal would be to recruit locally but that should a factor for the player to consider (having said that, he is 22 and not a 17 year old. I would imagine all professional players accept moving home a few times nearly always goes with the job. Dobra has already moved from Suffolk so it’s not as if he’s Derbyshire born and bred) not so much the club. McGoldrick is a whole different situation. As has been discussed many many times, he chose to join (and presumably end his playing career) at the club he supports. We’ll never know but do you think, if he’d still been at Ipswich he’d have rather stayed in Suffolk than take up an opportunity at his boyhood club?
  17. I can’t say it would change my life in the slightest.
  18. Genuine question, how many times have you seen him play (not just very limited highlights) to make such a critical comment of our recruitment process (assuming we don’t make a bid)? Him being local shouldn’t be a factor as to whether we try to sign him and, just because one of our competitors are interested doesn’t mean he would be right for us.
  19. I’m a tiny bit miffed, all the little increases add up, but I watch enough on Prime to not want to give it up. I guess it depends on how many adverts (the number of ad breaks and how long they last) there will be. I watch plenty on ITVX, 4 and My5 with ads that I can cope with so I’ll probably just put up with them. I certainly won’t be cancelling. In my case, I’d just be cutting off my nose to spite my face.
  20. I agree. Mull of Kintyre is an awful song but many of them do sing it currently. Some might say they wouldn’t sing it so much if they were back in league 1 but, I doubt many of us would sing along to SBW even if we were back in the Prem. We’d just clap along and join in the chant at the end. Dambusters wouldn’t be good because the only words are about another team (even if we changed it to “we all ducking hate reds”). Imagine how amused (possibly even flattered) we’d be if Leeds ran out to a song about how much they hate Derby. Unfortunately, the better tunes are perhaps a little too contrived or complicated to really get the masses involved so it needs to be a simple (possibly even crap) song. The only one I can think of is “Sailing”. A poor choice but I’m struggling to think of anything better.
  21. You can’t take anything for granted in this league. Portsmouth and Peterborough (both of whom I’m sure have ambitions of automatic promotion) have dropped points (at home) against teams on that list. Having said that, January really does look like an great opportunity to strengthen our challenge. What could possibly go wrong. 😮
  22. Is there any such thing as “league 3”? Fornah “wants to be here” because we have offered him a contract and, presumably, there is no one from a higher league sniffing around for him as their maybe for Bird. That’s not a criticism of Fornah but neither should Bird be hung out to dry simply for being interested in furthering his career at a higher level (if indeed he has indicated he doesn’t want to be here as you seem to be implying).
