  1. How can you “hate” a person for just trying to do his job however bad you think he is at it? I really can’t think of anyone I actually hate least of all someone I’ve never even met.
  2. Goal saving tackle by Cashin and then another great tackle when he looked beaten.
  3. I actually hope they don’t. I don’t think he’ll need telling what a stupid decision he made there and being b********* by his manager and team mates is neither going to change what happened or help.
  4. Didn’t Forest play Spurs on Friday night not Sunday afternoon? Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Forest game wasn’t actually a sell out. I know their official capacity is a little higher but we all know clubs quite often can’t sell up to their capacity.
  5. Well as others have said, it wouldn’t be necessary if there wasn’t a risk of folk trying to get in the wrong areas. Sounds a pain but not exactly the end of the world. Not worth relocating if you prefer standing in the South Stand. Just keep your ticket handy until you get to your seat and stop being such a grumpy git. 😀
  6. So what was the process? Three checks? Maybe a bit of a pain but hardly sounds like the worst experience or in the world or a shambles especially now folk now know it will happen. Regarding it not being necessary, maybe it's a condition of the safe standing licence. I can't imagine there being plenty of people relocating especially if they like to stand.
  7. Ok, fair enough. But the point is still valid - you can’t compare the experience of a couple of hundred people trying to board an aircraft with a few thousand football fans entering a stadium. If there was a high risk that passengers just chose to sit where they like rather than carefully finding their correct seat, or worse still - more people try to cram into an area not suitable for that many people, I’m sure they’d soon start to introduce more rigorous checks. I suspect there has never been a tragedy on board an aircraft due to overcrowding.
  8. This may be of little help but I reckon it’s difficult to actually give any practical advice. It will all come naturally. Yes, you’ll both make mistakes but nothing that will cause any actual harm especially as you already work in care. If anything, you’re more likely to be over cautious. Emotions will probably be off the scale from time to time for both of you so there’s a good chance (IMO) that you and your partner will get frustrated and annoyed with each other occasionally (there will soon be a more important person in both your lives). I would say, just accept it’s going to happen and don’t neglect your relationship with each other. Honestly, I think you’ll be fine. congrats and good luck.
  9. If you go on the official website it seems to allow you to subscribe for the game so, I’d say yes. I’m hoping so as I’m still unlikely to be able to make it.
  10. It's been a couple of years since I took a flight but I'm pretty sure (from my fading memory) that boarding passes are checked at least twice: - once at the departure lounge when your section of the aircraft is called forward to board and then again at the actual entrance to the aircraft. If there was a risk/history of flyers just choosing to sit wherever they liked rather than carefully seeking out their correct seat then perhaps there would be another level of checks implemented on aircrafts. But, there isn't so I don't think you can compare the two experiences. In any event, although I wasn't at the game on Saturday, I can't help but feel this was more of "getting use to the new procedure minor irritation" rather than anything really worth getting worked up and complaining about.
  11. Presumably only if the club relaxes the ticket checks which could be why it’s just something those affected will, and will have to, get used to.
  12. On the website there are two very brief videos (if people haven’t got time to watch a couple of short videos then I don’t know how they would find time to read a separate communication) and a code of conduct that does state that you need to have your ticket available for any secondary checks so, the message is there. Perhaps three checks is a tad excessive but I fail to see how it could really have disturbed anyone’s match day experience that much and doesn’t IMO justify quite the backlash I’ve seen from a handful of people. As others have said, it’s probably just a case of getting used to it and the extra checks are probably part of the licence requirements in order to prevent overcrowding if folk chose to ignore their allocated seats and just crowd together.
  13. Modern day James Bond films, Star Wars, Avengers type films and anything Harry Potter. None of these interest me in the slightest. Ooh, and anything staring Nicholas Cage. 😀
  14. That's a good point. Whilst no doubt a tad irritating, presumably folk will soon get use to the idea of not putting your ticket away until you're in your area. Maybe (I honestly don't know), such extra vigilant stewarding is a requirement in order to obtain/retain a licence for safe standing. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Surely it’s been proven beyond much doubt now that the main problem at Hillsborough was the number of people being allowed/forced into a confined space that wasn’t large enough to accommodate them. There had been standing at football matches, with very little incident, long before Hillsborough. I would also say they clearly have learned from Hillsborough. As annoying as it sounds like it was, frequent checks of tickets should prevent any particular area becoming over crowded I would have thought and, whilst the primary purpose of the rails I would imagine is to stop you falling over the seats, they should also eliminate the risk of a mass of bodies surging forward and pinning unfortunates against the lesser number of rails we use to have on the terraces.
  16. I have often wondered why defending teams don’t leave a player (or two) up when defending corners. I can’t remember where I saw it, but I’m sure it was said by someone with some authority (so none of us on this forum then😀) that the reason is because it’s usually more advantageous to the defending team to have a packed penalty box. I might be making it up but I’m sure I read it somewhere.
  17. Judging by the number of tickets sold I think they’re still practicing social distancing.😀
  18. Cheers buddy. I’ll be relying on this forum for carefully thought out and sensible updates 😀 as I can’t stand listening to footy on the radio. Nothing too serious in the scheme of things but I’ll probably miss the Lincoln game as well. As long as the Rams collect all 6 points I’ll be happy.
  19. We held against the energy and pressure against Portsmouth for 94 minutes in September.😀
  20. We all have to adjust to the league we’re currently playing in so, I’d say the likes of Portsmouth and Bolton are big games. Wycombe very much less so.
  21. After I had surgery yesterday I’ll be missing this one (yes I know B4 would have come up with some great solutions). First home league game I’ve missed for as long as I can remember.
  22. You'd like to think so but this league has a habit of throwing out some unexpected results. Their current form is shocking but they have picked up points away at both Oxford and Peterborough as recently as the back end of October.
