OK having attended many closings on deals like this, this is what happens,
    1. The closing will take place at a lawyers office
    2. All the documents to be signed are laid out on a big table typically 20ft x 8ft
    3. Most documents run to many pages in many cases up to 50-60 pages each document, each page has to be read and signed and then countersigned by a witness , typically the lawyer handling the transaction.
    4. All of this takes many hours, I have completed S+P agreements at 4.00am having started before lunch the previous day.
    5. Only when all is signed does the money get transferred, as there is a charge holder , MSD then they will have their legal team there too.
I do not expect the deal to be completed today.

Brighton have the 4th biggest debt in all of English football standing at £279 million with only Spurs Newcastle and Chelsea with largest debts. Brentford have debts of £74 million so neither of these clubs could be considered to self sustainable.
My only hope is that we can sell out a bigger car park than Wycombe

As he has not registered a claim with the administrators, and is not listed as a creditor, the best of luck to him.
I guess he wants cash to resurface his giant sold out car park.

My post states 'some', not 'many'. I've also expressed my own disappointment at his timing in an earlier post. As for the 'why make (those) statements' question, I think obviously the landscape has changed between the failure of the CK bid and the acceptance of the Clowes offer. It doesn't however change the fact that he stuck by us and was the unifying force that brought club, players and fans together when unity was needed most. That doesn't change for me simply because he's leaving, though it clearly does for some. The 'well he was well paid' argument is BS - he's worth £140 million so his salary was almost immaterial. Likewise the 'nobody else would have him' mantra. We now know that's bolarks too.
To be honest, I think this is one of those times when perhaps if we've nothing good to say about him, then maybe we should just say nothing at all. That extends nearly every player too. I think they've earned that much, at least.

Yes indeed there will be nothing for them to do in the 6th form common room, but to carry on studying for GCSE book keeping and to carry on with their circle jerque.

We will not be spending anything at all, on transfers or fancy wages, zilch , nada we will be operating at less than break even and you suggest spending cash we have not got on a senior manager we can’t afford and don’t need.

If WR had his sights set on managing in the Premier league, then appraising the next "few" seasons at DCFC he would have determined that, given no players can be signed and having to operate under a draconian EFL imposed business plan, then his career prospects would not have been enhanced. He has left as a saleable commodity with his reputation intact, staying on would have been a one way ticket to destroying that reputation.
I doubt NC would come back given the very underserved vitriol from a section of the fan base but for me he is the only logical choice in this division.

And how are we going to generate the cash to recruit and pay a DOF?  The unrealistic expectations and demands have started earlier than I anticipated. We will be lucky to keep the academy operational let alone stuff the club with unnecessary senior management
