    OK here goes.
Chinese whispers is a game where a group of people will line up, The 1st person will whisper something in the next persons ear, This will be followed by the next person to the next person until the message reaches the last person, The last person then tells all what they were whispered, The 1st person who started the whisper will then either say...yes it's what I said, Or no it wasn't what I said.
The best would be is if you could get say 10 Chinese people to play the game, That would really be fun as it would be more authentic to have chinese people playing Chinese whispers.

    Please just give us Appleby.
Ashley and anyone else with hundreds of millions lying around could have bought us in a heartbeat six months ago. Instead, they’ve been dicking about and we’ve lost half our squad in the meantime.
Appleby strikes me as the only who who really, really wants this, and for the right reasons.

Definitely disagree on Ince. If you can't call him a success then only freebies can be. Since for a fee worth about £6m in the end, top performer whilst at the club, then sold for a reasonable profit. Yet you want to include Vydra as the "stand-out" signing despite being awful in the first of his two seasons at the club?
The list of players we made a P&S profit on is very sad (excluding academy graduates) : Russell, Dawkins, Albentosa, Christie, Ince, Weimann, Vydra
The list of players we actually made an overall profit on is even more pathetic: Christie, Ince, Vydra
35 players have come and gone, yet we only made a profit on 3 of them!

Cameron Jerome is just what we're missing this season. Thought he did okay for us when he was here anyway. Yes.
Dawkins was always a classy player but in the area of the pitch we are most blessed with talent so unlikely to make a difference. No.
Jozefzoon ended up with slightly better stats than Jozwiak. Neither of them able to overcome the physicality of the Championship or produce enough end product. No.
Albentosa no better than Stearman,  who currently can't get a kick despite Davies looking jaded. No.
Blackman only suits a counter attacking team, would be rubbish with our slow build up. No.

    I realise I'm doing him a deservice
The idea of the thread really was how would these players have done in today's world, without maybe the same expectation, more chances with less competition.
In Dawkins case, maybe he was underappreciated and in today's squad would have been given the chance to flourish more?

Over the last few years we have (rightly) bemoaned the DCFC scouting office. Looking at some of the average underwhelming signings we made under Mels tenure, would some of these faired better, looked better, etc if they'd been bought into the squad this year? I use the term mediocre based on them not being total out and out fan faves

    Simon Dawkins
    Raul Albentosa
    Nick Blackman
    Flo Jozefzoon
    Anya

Dawkins was decent on a low fee/wage.
Crazy to put him on a list with Josefzoon, Anya and Blackman.

The administrators should be saying 'hardly anything'. They  needed to stem the sneaky leaks that feed the clickbait and the negative agenda that's surrounded DCFC for over 2 years, inculcated by Gibson, the EFL and certain gobby media careerists.
They need a certain £££ amount to satisfy, HMRC, EFL and other creditors, in a clear format from bidders with no dodgy conditions or traps, to free Derby from administration in the best-case scenario of avoiding more points penalties.
The club was more valuable in December, when they first intended to name a PB - when the squad was stronger and now-departed players could have contributed to 'The Great Escape' or provided a better squad basis on which to build.
The EFL blocking this PB declaration (2 or 3 times) whilst the hidden agenda of assured relegation was being played out by the EFL & parasites, causing the desperate player exodus for cashflow, meant that Q has had to revalue and re-present their requirements to bidders several times - and casualties in the renewed bidding battle have occurred.

There's something right and I think wrong with that post LER.
Why would a Billionaire want to buy a club who are on their knees, Ashley surely doesn't need the cash, But then he keeps buying failed businesses, Is it that he has to prove he can raise the Titanic everytime he buys a business?
It's not that he has to pop round to next door to borrow a cup of sugar, Buying and accepting a -15 points imo would have support/non support by our fans, Support for saving the club, Non support for having to struggle yet again for another season.
It would be any PBs objective to get to the Premier League as that's where the loot is, But, Look at Chelsea...could fold, Everton over spend by £255million, Sothampton and Leicester borrow money against the following ST sales, Burnley bought Burnley ie the owner borrowed the money, Man Untd owe circa £850million...football is eating itself alive.
I personly don't see the attraction of the Premier League anymore but hey that's just me.

Unfortunatley I don't think Ashley would care if he has the fans support or not, if he sees a financial benefit to it

Or could it be that getting higher - workable even - bids from the interested parties is proving impossible?
Simply because the debts are too high and the potential value isn't as high - especially in the current climate - as we would all like to think.

I don't think those first two statements are compatible though. If Quantuma are indeed MM puppets, they'd be trying to avoid liquidation, because that gives him the worst possible outcome. Sure, he'd retain the stadium, but the lease with DCFC would terminate and he'd have a stadium with no tenant and a very limited source of income (conferences, concerts perhaps), plus he'd still owe MSD £20M+. It could also possibly make it more likely that HMRC go after him for the unpaid tax.
If MM isn't doing what he can to help DCFC avoid liquidation, he damned well should be, if only for his own selfish reasons.

At some point in time, bidders would need to drop out so we can get to a PB. Not sure I'm remotely worried about the Binnies dropping out.
I'm more worried of Ashley low balling the bid so much we end up on minus 15. I'll struggle to support any new owner who believes this is a better option than paying the minimum amount needed.

I would keep 20m for myself

    40m for the Rams
10m to ring the High Wycombe ground with badly managed land fills sites
10m to buy Middlesborough in its entirety and turn it into a  badly managed land fill site ..

....  hold up, someone has beaten me to the last one.

I was doing my usual day dreaming earlier, and it usually leads to what I'd spend my 100 million on if I won the euro millions

If you won 100m would you be prepared to save Derby by donating x amount, if so how much, and what would you want in return?

I think I'd be happy putting 20m, I don't want much in return, just be treated like a god, and have free reign to walk around and do as I please

Yep Quantuma have released lots of information, including an article about the change in HMRC rules and titled something along the lines of "Are Football Clubs Worth Saving Anymore"
That's enough to set alarm bells ringing for me.
Oh and if it's of interest:
I attended my first match at the Baseball Ground in 1974.
I looked after the Gas Infrastructure at the Baseball Ground for several years and became good friends with the old groundsman, John Dodsley.
I managed the Gas installation at Pride Park.
As a junior football coach, I  spent 2 years working with the Academy when it was based at Repton School and ran joint coaching sessions with Eric McManus and other Academy Coaches.
I have no desire to see the demise of Derby County.

I love that dream. I would put in half for the club to be in the ownership of a Fans trust (a new one with no previous history or allegiances) on condition I draw up the paperwork, appoint the trustees and have family seats of choice in perpetuity.  Igor and Bobby D would have to come and sit and lunch with me at least 4 times a year. Only other condition would be no gambling advertising. If only I bought lottery tickets!
