Agree with everyone that mentioned Roy Mac. Met him at a Royal crown Derby Xmas do about 40 years ago and got talking to him at the bar, after about 20 minutes,  his wife and my ex were up asking where the drinks are.
Marco Gabbiadini is a cracking bloke who always stopped for a chat,  used to bump into him and his missus on markeaton park when we both had babies in prams and we'd talk football and the women would talk babies.

I've hated that mardy, cheating twa@ ever since.

One of the worst against had to be when Ronaldo ran across our area and kicked Leackock with his left foot and went over to win a penalty.

I see everyone is staying nice and patient. Willing to throw everything up in the air and take risks, just to see a premier league game at Pride Park. I feel that is somewhat disingenuous.  Lionel had the rug pulled from underneath him by the club’s bankers who got twitchy about the £15m mortgage they held on Pride Park Stadium.  I worked for LVP at that time and while he was a little susceptible to whispers in his ear at the Yew Tree, he did try to do the right things.
And you have to remember he wasn’t as wealthy as Clowes is. Even in an era for era comparison he would not be able to run DCFC these days.  Very successful with his media businesses - and well off no doubt - his pockets weren’t that deep.
i do think he is well deserving of permanent tribute.
