  1. I only got into Van Morrison a few years ago. Absolutely love most of his stuff. My personal favourite.
  2. Got to confess I'm no expert when it comes to Dolly Parton songs, but both the song title and the written words on your gif plus my gif just about sum up the quote.
  3. "Statistics are like a mini skirt, very nice to look at but hide what's really important" - Jimmy Sirrel.
  4. Unless they failed FFP whilst in the championship! Ooooh, what if the EPL relegate them with a points deduction and then the EFL give them another one next year 🙏🏻
  5. A right cheating bar steward, but our cheating bar steward 🐏
  6. Can we just go back to the rules as they were in the early seventies? And can referees referee the game in the same way. From what I remember they had far more respect from the players. The players kicked the 💩 out of each other, then got up, got on with the game, then had a pint together afterwards. Actual violence between players seemed rare (cue Franny vs Norman video). Hopefully it would also level out the league with prima dona players less protected from being touched and "having every right to go down".
  7. Do you think that they are favourites to win AFCON this year?
  8. English or scotch? Both have their merits. Although English can be sweet or salty.
  9. A player who plays on the right hand side, whose duties are to defend when the opposition have the ball, but attack when we have the ball. A right back who plays a little further forward given the opportunity. Or are you saying that he is a winger who has to defend when necessary?
  10. Yes, but did Warne really have to replace a right back with a right ba....... doh
  11. My guess (and it's probably rubbish) is that the club is perhaps trying to allay fans fears etc. before the SCG meeting so that the atmosphere is a little better at the start. If some go there with an agenda then it could all be a little heated at the start. Let everyone know beforehand that there are certain questions that can't be answered for legal reasons. Perhaps explain beforehand also what was achieved and what wasn't, and why, during the transfer window. Was it felt more important to retain certain players already on the books? Why was Bird's transfer handled as it was? Why didn't we bring in the striker that so many (all) felt was of upmost importance?
  12. I think that we all "knew" that there were NDAs in place. Stephen Pearce is not going to disclose any information about the workings until Mel Morris. He certainly isn't going to say that "Mad Mel forced me to do this or that, even though I knew that it would lead us to where we ended up". He is only going to tell us how the club has worked since Morris said that he was closing his wallet for good. I'm not going to say that I trust David Clowes to do the right thing for the club (even though I do honestly believe that everything he does will be with that intention), just as I have never ever thought that I trust a manager to bring in the right players. Each person within the club will do their utmost to make Derby County succeed, because it will mean that they prosper personally. Each person will have different levels of love for our club, and David Clowes obviously loves this club as much as our beloved @B4ev6is, but he will want success more than anything so that he doesn't lose his family's fortune. Anyway, back to Stephen Pearce. David Clowes believes that he is the right man for the job. Whether he should take some of the blame for what happened only a very select few will know, but he is I'm sure doing his best to get the club back on very secure footing. Just don't expect him in public to dish the dirt. That won't happen until many years have passed.
  13. He may have to pick the great grandkids up!
  14. @uttoxram75 has come over all funny (awaits Sid James or Kenneth Williams gifs)
  15. A very good player who gave 100% every single minute of every game.
  16. I normally get an excellent quality, but it is true that on Saturday the picture was a bit blurry.
  17. Don't think I'll be able to manage it
  18. No, I personally wouldn't replace Cashin next season, but I would replace Nelson (although he has been excellent this season and possibly my player of the season). As I said, ALL players are replaceable, but we can only do it within our (real) financial restrictions. I don't doubt for a secon that if Pep felt that he could replace Haaland with someone better then he would do. He also buys squad players, but those players are costing him what, 50 million quid? We aren't able to spend even a tenth of that sum on the whole squad, but we certainly should be replacing current players with better.
  19. For me Man City are the worst club you can compare us to. They're one of the best teams in the world. We're a third division club, with third division players. We should be looking to improve on ALL of players. Obviously there should be priorities, but there isn't one player who couldn't be improved upon.
  20. Perhaps if we are already up by the last home game he could wear a Mexican hat? Has anyone got any spare ones? Someone should let him know. cough @Mucker1884 cough
