  1. They can always send the 35 players who didn't make their named squad.
  2. Try to go a bit to the side of the away dugout then!
  3. Derby County under countless embargoes ☑️ Derby County charged with various made up crimes ☑️ Mel Morris removed from football ☑️ Derby County docked 21 points ☑️ Derby County forced to sell all their young talent for the price of a packet of crisps ☑️ Derby County relegated ☑️ At least the third one was to our benefit.
  4. I'll be over in April for my niece's wedding. Unfortunately the Rams are away at Wycombe that weekend, so even if promotion is confirmed then I'll miss it. Unless the party is on the Sunday, then I'll try to take you up on the offer 😜
  5. I haven't received notice yet that I will have to pay for the streaming service, but I can't remember the last film I watched on Amazon. I have watched several series, but I won't be paying to remove ads.
  6. So you wouldn't recommend it then?
  7. To be fair, he wasn't pulling up any trees in the lower leagues and we were a championship club. Like so many before him he was a late developer. You can't blame clubs letting young players go if they can't see them getting a place in the team in the next year or two.
  8. I watch most films and series dubbed into Spanish (except when I'm watching on my own and the original is in English). The dubbing really is excellent over here. What's more the actors have voices that actually go with their bodies. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone have great, deep voices but sound like Shakespeare's actors 😂
  9. It's on Netflix here in Spain. I imagine it is in the UK too. Excellent film, well worth watching.
  10. As @Srg says, football is vastly different to when we signed Gregory. I would imagine he was on a good wage for a third division player. We can't offer at the moment Championship level wages in the first division. The only reason a player would drop down would be for the love of the club. What's Will doing these days?
  11. McGrath was like a tortoise on Valium when he played for us. He was still the best player on the pitch most weeks.
  12. I didn't say that I thought that he was as good as Todd, or even that he ever will be, only that his style reminds me so much of Colin Todd. Todd wasn't very tall either but still won more than his fair share of headers. Todd was faster than Cashin that's for sure, and also read the game faster than most mortals. There are many central defenders that would be in my all time Derby team ahead of Cashin having started watching them in the mid to late sixties, but that doesn't mean I can't compare two player's styles . You only picked me up on the Todd reference. Do you agree with the rest of my post?
  13. I agree 100% with the bits in bold. I don't agree with any of the rest though. What I saw was two very tired defenders going for the same ball in the 90th minute. They had both played every single minute of the four games in 11 days. I haven't seen any actual stats, but hopefully someone can confirm that he loses far fewer defensive aerial battles than he wins. Lack of height is not a problem because of the leap that he has got. As for pace, I've not seen anyone leave him in their wake. He's been likened many times, but he really does remind of Colin Todd.
  14. I keep seeing that he is incapable of playing 90 minutes, but has it actually been stated by someone at the club?
  15. I can't see any young footballer signing his first contract away from his big parent club on a pay as you play contract. He's just starting out. There will be many games where he doesn't play (although I assume that a pay as you play contract would in reality be a pay as you are available to play contract), he may not even make a few squads. I'm sure that someone would be willing to take a risk on a free transfer. We did it with Bobby Duncan. He came with a good football reputation, but no real experience. John-Jules we have seen play. We know what he is capable of. Treat him correctly and he could be a fantastic signing. I personally, if the money is available, would take the risk.
  16. You spelled semi wrong.
  17. No you bloody well can't! Don't you know that just one negative vibe, even from 180 miles away, could shatter their confidence? You can sit in your comfy armchairs but remember to have something close at hand to wave and shake about, especially if we're winning.
  18. I keep reading this, but I'm finding it hard to remember anyone leaving Cashin in their wake. I'm sure someone will be able to tell me who, but it's hardly as if he's like Curtis Davis running through treacle!
  19. One thing that really impressed me last night was the celebration of the first two goal scorers. Fozzy quickly ran back to his own half, waving his arms to say "come on, get into position and let's go again". Thompson raced to retrieve the ball from the net to carry it back to the centre spot, almost pushing Bird out of the way in the process. Both seemed to be saying "come on, we're going to win this". Having said that, I enjoyed the celebration for Cashin's goal more 🥰
  20. I remember Arthur Cox saying soon after signing Ted McMinn that he was already looking for his replacement. For a team to truly progress they should sign players that will be automatic starters, and then sign an even better player when available (always within a sensible budget) so that the displaced becomes a sub or is sold on at a profit. Obviously this is in an ideal scenario, but it should be the aim.
  21. @David lumped a quid each way on us.
  22. So we "only" had 64% possession in the second half, yet scored more goals. Thereby proving that possession based football is useless!
  23. The stats at the end of the game are incredible, but has anyone got the first and second half stats? Surely they had more possession in the first half? In the second half I can hardly remember them having the ball for more than a few seconds. Having said that I missed most of the first half and just after switching on Owen Bradley said that Oxford had won their first corner, a few minutes later we won I think our ninth!
  24. Has he put a lot of weight on?
