  1. So many threads about players or coaching staff who aren't performing well, so I thought I'd bump this one. Although he's not infallible he's still doing tremendously well, especially for someone of his age. Well done Cash!
  2. Perhaps someone should start a new thread?
  3. I made all my money from a football forum, honest.
  4. Roy Greenwood. Famous for be named Reggie. Just about sums him up.
  5. Brown is considered one of the closest to being ready for our first team, yet can't get into Gateshead's starting team. I confess, I'm a Warne in'er, but because he has the team in second place in the table. I don't "enjoy" many of the games, not for the style of football, I don't think it's that far from Arthur Cox's style. He always said that the team had to earn the right to play to their style. I believe that Warne still hasn't been able to put out a team completely as he sees how it should be. However the thing that really gets my goat is using the very limited game time for the youngsters as a stick to beat him with. They really don't look "ready" to me. Playing for a team lower in the pyramid has to be the way to do it. Have them watched. Let the experts see what they are capable of. Even if they don't pull up any trees in their loan spell it doesn't mean that they won't make it in football. They will learn from the experience. Any way, I've gone off on a verbal ramble. Basically, I don't see any of our current youngsters as being ready just yet. If they're not ready then they're not ready. More importantly the manager doesn't see them as being ready. Yes, Klopp played several youngsters in the cup final, but ONLY because he felt that they were ready. He wouldn't have risked losing a cup final just to give them a taste of it all. Coco played a very young team against Forest, and was never forgiven for it. If there is a player that rips it up whilst on loan then we should be screaming for his inclusion, but we haven't got one yet.
  6. The under 21s were allowed to play for the under 21s even though they were out on loan a few years back. Is that rule no longer in effect?
  7. I've heard that they've got a really nice car park though!
  8. Is that only players who have made their debuts FOR Derby? What if they made their league debut for a league club whilst on loan from us?
  9. Are you seriously saying that if we get promoted and Warne is still manager, then you will no longer watch? You won't even give it 10 minutes to see if it's working?
  10. I'll be 61 in June. I had my first Docs (tan boots) when I was about 14. Polished them every day with dark tan polish and buffed them up with a cloth for at least 15 minutes each. They ended up a lovely conker colour that you could almost see your reflection in. Never did paint them, no 😂😂
  11. You're spot on. My latest pair destroyed my heels and under the ancle bone for ages, but they're now super comfortable. I forgot to use my dad's trick. A hammer and a well carpeted staircase. Beat the hell out of the back and sides around the boarder and it's like a few weeks of wearing them in.
  12. Why wouldn't he be fit, he's been playing paddle every week. If I played paddle once I'd treat myself to a cream cake for having exercised, even if it was for only half an hour and I'd hit the ball a couple of times.
  13. You're Benjamin Button and I claim my £5
  14. Good on you. Hope the midweek games don't disrupt your studies too much 😂
  15. I don't know if it's already been talked about, but how exactly do they calculate the xG for a particular shot? It's being stated that it's the probability that a player in x position, with goalkeeper and defenders in various positions, is going to score a goal. How are those positions calculated? Is there someone at the match calculating each opportunity? Is all done via cameras? Is there a super computer that actually does the calculation? Or is it some geek who decides "ooooh, I'll mark that as a 0.75467423577 xG because that striker's really good and the defending team are rubbish"?
  16. Which one's you? The big kid, or the big girl's blouse?
  17. Said the great man himself *each one can make their own minds up as to who the great man is
  18. Yes I heard years ago that his live performances range from incredible to atrocious.
  19. I only got into Van Morrison a few years ago. Absolutely love most of his stuff. My personal favourite.
  20. Got to confess I'm no expert when it comes to Dolly Parton songs, but both the song title and the written words on your gif plus my gif just about sum up the quote.
