Well, I'm all in for the Kirch.
It's going to happen, say goodbye to your misery, your negativity; Wave away thoughts of Mike Ashley or Andy Appleby or string-pulling Mel.
    100% behind him.

Personally I have everything crossed that CK pulls a rabbit out of a hat and completes the deal tomorrow.
We've come so far down this road that I've got used to him becoming our owner. I like the fact that Rooney seems happy with him, I like the fact that the people he is putting in charge are top drawer and I like the fact that if its done tomorrow I can look forward to the fixtures coming our and the season starting.

The next piece of info we receive should be either: "Welcome CK ..." or "Oh well back to drawing board, plus CK is now a creditor because of some outgoings he's paid..."
The next steps of the club will be very much clarified by either of these things.
I know the next thing we are getting from the dcfc site is "Happy Birthday to Marino Rahmburg" or something. But if it is an announcement from Q, or CK that everything is going smoothly just a few formalities then I can see it being treated with derision.
Ramos has a point, because of Mel being the love of our lives (one of our own) and then breaking our hearts, then broken promises, the takeover version of tinder dates with BZI and a mysterious Spanish Boxer, all who let us down, we have the profile of someone perpetually cheated on. As a result real trust issues.
Should we have gone ugly early and got Ashley in? Just so we dont die alone with 30 cats.

You know those important milestones in life; where were you when you heard about Diana's death, when the twin towers were hit, etc., well here is a thread in readiness so you can let everyone know where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news.  I will be in bed. I have decided I ain't getting up today until the deal is announced.

The examples I posted are funny because we don 't treat them seriously. Otherwise, they'd just be ads.

Firstly, we play a form of 4231, not the 433 your squad list is set up for.
Very pessimistic outlook on who stays. Given Byrne has already committed to staying next season, I think that tells you a lot about how the squad will look next season. Allsop, Davies
I doubt Rooney wants to keep Kazim and Stearman. There's an outside chance of Stearman staying on as 4th choice CB though. If budget it tight, this is arguably the first role to be sacrificed.
Flint, Bardsley and Barkhuizen appear certainties to join.
    GK: Allsop, Roos/New, Foulkes
    RB: Byrne, Bardsley
    CB: Flint, Cashin  Davies, Stearman/Bardell
    LB: Buchanan, Forsyth
    CM: Bielik, Bird, Tommo, Watson
    RW: Ebiowei/New, Barkhuizen
    AM: Ravel, Sibley
    LW: Knight, New
    CF: New, New, Stretton, Cybulski

Adding only frees and loans to a squad which would have ordinarily avoided relegation from the Championship, will be at risk of being relegated to League 2?
Paying fees is not a must. After all, we haven't paid a fee for any player since Summer 2020, yet would have avoided relegation from the Championship.
Who said we'd be giving multiple year contracts to players with only "a season in them"? Signing players younger than 32 on long contracts who won't be good enough for the Championship would also be senseless. Getting someone like Jagielka signed up for a year would be very good recruitment. It would mean we can sign a better and more long term player in when we return to the Championship.
Again, where do you get "35 year old striker" from?
35 year old winger McCleary scored 11 this season.
35 year old Cameron Jerome scored 13 in 20/21 (34 apps).
35 year old Joe Jacobsen scored 11 from LB in 19/20 (33 apps)
40 year old Akinfenwa score 10 in 19/20 (35 apps)
Can't be bothered to search further back than that.
Frees vs fees in the past few years, I know which list I'd pick.
Frees: Plange, Baldock, Stearman, Allsop, Jagielka, Ravel, te Wierik, Ibe, Marshall, Kazim, Shinnie, Rooney, Cole, Ambrose, Ledley
Fees: Jozwiak, Byrne, Bielik, Waghorn, Marriott, Jozefzoon, Holmes, Malone, Evans, Lawrence, Wisdom, Huddlestone, Jerome, Davies, Vydra, Anya, Nugent
Give me many more frees please!!!
I'll be very surprised if we're allowed to pay a fee to sign players this summer.
And they're still in League 1. That suggests they're no better than clubs who have never been in the Premier League

I think there is a need for some balance here. I do agree that Mel is the villain - he  put us into administration when he had previously vowed to continue financing us until he could sell the club, and he left us with a lot of debt. If the information we are given is correct, he is also not asking for repayment of £135,000,000 of loans to the club and he has sold the ground for £23,000,000 ,although it was valued at £81,000,000, which will be used to pay off his debt to MSD. He was naive and got out of his depth in trying to get us to the promised land but for you to say that he is “Truly one of the most repugnant human beings to ever walk this planet” is ridiculously over the top. I hope I never come before you in a court of law.

Don't want to be a party pooper...
But, I can just see it now, everything agreed, money about to change hands, HMRC happy, Rooney about to sign a 3 year deal, only for the EFL to block it because CK signed the wrong box on the form ?
It sounds far fetched, I mean, how can a deal fall through because a form was signed in the wrong place, but it could happen...
    Genuinely excited now!!

There is a 'gentleman's agreement' between the PL and EFL that financial punishment imposed by the EFL will be enforced by the PL. Personally I would do as you suggest and have a points deduction upon return to the EFL, but what do you do in the case of a club such as Palace, who were promoted in 2013, and show no sign, much to my annoyance, of being relegated. Should there be a cut off point (5/10/15 years etc) when a points deduction would then cease to kick in?

I think you’re overstating my position though.
Whilst have to accept have a high profile in the football finance side of things today, in 2018 that was not the case.
The EFL told me to get stuffed as took the view I was a tin foil hat wearing nobody crank.
The one thing I got most spectacularly wrong was in relation to Morris.

Thought that he was trying to game the system with the unusual policies but never thought that he wasn’t really a fan and would put the club (but not the stadium) into administration. No one of that wealth, who is genuinely a fan, would take such an action.

Fair comment, I’ve said all along the new policy makes no difference in terms of overall cost over the life of a contract (it's 1+1+1+7 instead of 2.5m x 4 if a player is signed on a 4 year deal for example). Provided DCFC were promoted before the last year and high depreciation figure kicked in then they were outside of the clutches of the EFL in terms of a points deduction.
By having a lower amortisation charge (a non cash expense) in the early years this did allow the club to pay more in wages, which are a cash expense, and still fall within P&S limits, and so give the club with such an amortisation policy an advantage against other clubs. These extra cash costs in terms of wages need to be funded from somewhere.
Provided the owner is willing and able to do this then the risk of administration is no higher or lower than before. If the owner realises that the short term gain of the amortisation policy has expired, as is the case with Derby, the choice was either take it on the chin or walk away from the club, and the latter choice appears to have been taken.

    Hi HB
I will try and unpick the different elements.
In respect of the 12 point deduction for going into administration, it seems fair, Wigan were subject to a similar deduction when they went into admin themselves. The claim that Covid was the sole reason for administration is a weak one as (a) why did it not happen to other clubs? and (b) there were already significant sums owed to HMRC prior to Covid.
For the stadium issue, whilst the rules seem daft, they were still the rules. I'm not qualified to value stadiums, but have spoken to people who are, and so think the club was correctly found not guilty on this issue.
As far as amortisation is concerned, it's a tricky one. Neither Mel Morris nor Stephen Pearce were the architects of the change to the accounting policy, but they were happy to utilise it and the short term benefits it gave to the club's P&S calculations.
IMO, I think the new policy was in breach of FRS 102 and reduced losses by about £30m. I have had a discussion with Stephen Pearce in relation to this, and we professionally agreed to disagree.
It is then the responsibility of those prosecuting to put the case put forward for the EFL at the IDC. The case presented was weak, their expert witness put forward a muddled explanation, and if you lose, as they did, then they should have accepted it with good grace, and not appealed the first ruling.
As for having an agenda against Derby, I would defend myself on this. I monitor and comment on social media in relation to all clubs in England and Scotland (and Wales) because I'm very boring and have no friends. The aim is to be objective and non-partisan, I have even been known to say positive things about Crystal Palace, who as a Brighton fan, I loathe. I've provided assistance (unpaid) to staff members affected by the administration, contributed £92 to the 'buy a ticket' crowdfunder for DCFC fans, and whilst I fully understand that some people are sick and tired of hearing my voice on t'radio and comments in the written press, the media contact me, not the other way round. More than happy to take on board criticism, although the death threats on social media (not this forum) are not pleasant to receive.
