We are winning this in spite of Warne. We are winning simply because we have better players, and it has been the case many times this season.
It’s garbage football over and over again.

About 70 seconds of sustained pressure and the fans are applauding loudly.

They want to get behind the lads. It doesn’t take much for them to be behind the lads. Just give them something to cling to. Some tiny sparks of football.

Brilliant run from Sibley. Tried an intelligent ball to Hourihane into space rather than an aimless cross. Shame it didn’t come off. The run deserved it.

If I was Sibley I’d be employing a specialist defence coach. Think he could be a solid solid left back if he just works on a bit of positioning. He’s got the technical ability to get out of tight situations and try passes that aren’t completely aimless.

Cheltenham are a team of players who were so bad it took about 11 games to score their first goal. Their budget will be peanuts and yet under this new gaffer they’re playing above the sum of the parts.

Our players are capable of so much more. Give them a canvas and plan to go and do it on.

The issue isn’t that we want the prettiest football in the history of the game, it isn’t that we want to make Manchester City look like a bunch of crude lumpers. It is that we know that if our players were allowed to play to their strengths they could storm this league. The weaknesses and deficiencies are plain and obvious and are holding us back. So instead of cementing our position in the automatic places, we are preparing ourselves to be glad we scraped into the play-offs.
Credit us due that we are up there despite having controlled virtually none of our matches, but ignore the possibility that we are only still up near the top because League One is so weak.
Then we start slagging our midfield off for being powder-puff and easy for the opposition to go marauding through at will when Warne admits to setting midfield up to be powder-puff and easy to maraud through. And all the opposition have to do is play the tallest central defenders they’ve got and double up down the flanks and we are stuffed.
The issues are addressable but ignored so we continue to stutter when we should be motoring forwards.
But despite all this I will be there and I will be noisy, helping the South Standers make our support heard. And shouting at the ref!
    COME ON YOU RAMS.

This is no dig at them but their owner is happy for them to be punching at the top of league one/around the play offs with the idea that they sell on and reinvest. Our club wouldn’t be happy with that which is probably why they’re able to cherry pick these non league lads, play them regularly so they’re up to speed. Fall short of promotion but then sell the gem for a good whack.

Been saying exactly this for a while so I absolutely agree. Results achieved are obviously what will determine our end position in the table.
But when you're achieving results well in excess of performance levels you have a sustainabllity concern.
The hope for many I think was that good results would increase confidence, leading to better performances and hence better results.....
But the alternative of performances NOT improving and results regressing was always possible.....

I’m not losing sight of the great run we’re still on despite the disappointing few games but hand on heart how many times have we come away from the games thinking we played well?

I know people say it’s a results business and that’s true but poor performances will eventually regress back to poor results and vice versa which is why (as well as wanting to enjoy the football) people crave good performances because ultimately they’ll lead to solid results.

Perfect is stretching it. I think they just expect us to have 1 shot on target in a league 1 match and not put in such abject performances when the players we have are better than the players most in the division have…
