Just watched all 11 seasons of Walking dead. Thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a bit of a lull in quality and i imagine it lost a few people during that time as i couldnt imagine waiting a week to watch nothing happen 🤣 But the beauty of streaming is i can watch everything back to back. Currently just aying a break from it and watching fool me once on netflix but then ill be watching the spin off series + Fear of the walking dead

Dead City is good. Daryl up to e3 so far. Youtube has them. Decent also. Not seen Fear yet.

"Calls grow for Fujitsu to pay for Post Office injustice"

This doesn't sit right with me - and I feel weird sticking up for Fujitsu

I do not and have never worked for them, but I have worked on large IT projects for government departments whilst at other large IT Service Providers

If this was allowed to go live with these massive errors and bugs in it, then that's not Fujitsu's fault. Did Fujitsu do the user acceptance testing? Of course not - the clue is in the word "user". The Post Office would have been responsible for user testing and the sign-off to live

The failure here is simply - "IT Outsourcing" - it doesn't work because the power dynamics are all skewed on both sides. The Post Office project managers responsible for delivering the system are being measured against and rewarded for delivering the system on time. As are Fujitsu. No one has any incentive to say "this doesn't work - we need to delay by 6 months". That way lies severe bollockings, reputational damage, missed bonuses etc etc

This happens ALL the time, on pretty much every project I've ever worked on. Just that this time there were real and severe consequences on people's lives

Agree with all this as I speak from experience. As long as the pms report to management that the project is on time then it will go live. Techies like me can shout all they like that it's not ready but the priority is always it goes in on time. Also a lot of the pms are not technical and it's a huge job to explain something without them glazing over. The problem can also be enhanced by a lot of the technical teams making descisions without considering the impact on others further along the project chain. So glad I am no longer in an office.

Read about this scandal many years ago in Private Eye. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the people involved. Senior managers of the software company, senior managers of the post office and senior members of the government were all happy to destroy working peoples lives rather than admit summatt was wrong.

"Hello dear, how's your day been?".

"Oh, you know, i managed to feck someones life up to protect my bonus".

    "Marvellous dear, well done".

What sort of people can do this knowing the devastation they are causing?

The times us techies have said a system or upgrade should not go live due to lack of testing is unreal. Overruled. You can guess the rest.

That small grumble pales into insignificance compared to my dislike of The Killer which, as @Alph has reminded me, was probably the most bone-jarringly asinine movie I've seen in years. The plot: contract killer bungles job, much trouble ensues. Even with Fassbender in the lead role, it's hardly an original premise, but in this case we are treated to first person introspective of a man so bad at his job I'd probably kill him myself were he on my payroll.

    4/10

Review of Killer suprised me. I thought it excellent with Fassbender very good. But that's what we are here for, reviews from each end of the scale. That last bit might be the plot of Killer 2!

Just thinking back on the TV I've really enjoyed this year... and thinking about dicthing some of those streaming services

Time, Blue Lights and Happy Valley - all BBC.
The Last of Us, Poker Face - Sky.
Slow Horses, Ted Lasso and Severance - all Apple.

Netflix and Disney - Dissapointing. You guys are facing the chop in 24.

Not seen the others but Last of Us and Severance were great. Another season of both has been approved.

stay true to yourself, never undermine your misses in front of family or children or anyone but do address differences in opinion privately

Mum and Dad did just this. I never recalled them arguing in front of us kids. They also worked as a team be it cooking, cleaning etc. Only domestic they did separate was Mum washing clothes and Dad any heavy diy.

Brentford Vs Villa...cracking highlights on MOTD2, Watkins taking abuse from one fan behind the goal, Watkins scores the winner then points to the fan, The fan who you can see with his hoodie up just stands there with no come back...great stuff.

Martinez then gets clipped on his shoulder by Maupay and Martinez looks to be shot from far away as he falls to the ground, A little later, Martinez clips Maupay in the back who then proceeds hit the floor like a sack of spuds, Martinez then goes up to Maupay and grabs him by the shirt to lift him up, It all then kicks off with pink and yellow handbags at dawn 😁 12 yellow cards and 2 red given out ☺️

As Kevin Keegan once said...love it just love it ☺️

Just seen highlights...good stuff. I actually had to switch off the villa euro away game last week. The home fans deep droning chant drove me bonkers!

  8. Finished the Walking Dead spin off Dead City. Good stuff and it returns for season 2. Now on the 3rd episode of Daryl Dixon. Again, high standard and it's going to return for season 2. All on youtube last time I looked. Good idea to focus on the strongest characters of the Walking Dead.
