It was telling in his interview when he mentioned the Derby and the fans have made him enjoy playing football which is telling to how Cardiff treated him. Reckon he’s one player who will be pushing for a permanent transfer

They were epic today. It was only as we entered the last 3rd of the game that we started to try and play and exploit spaces left by tired Stevenage legs, but the fans were raucous throughout, much to their credit. The players will of course respond and I suspect the support will be appreciated. It's my impression that the team and coaching staff have felt a bit unloved at times in recent weeks, so it was nice to hear the fans doing more than their fair share today and themselves getting rewarded with a late winner and a clean sheet.

3 more points on the board and more pressure applied to the chasing pack, who couldn't be happy with that!

I really believe today that the crowd got us over the line. All the players burned their reserves, the manager responded to leaks in the system but the whole ground lifted as the half progressed. The lads responded in kind, dug deep, kept trying - for themselves and us. It paid off.

it wasn’t my choice of football style but circumstances dictate that sometimes and you just have to accept a poor hand. It’s was a grubby match but every player gave his all and Pride Park sensed it.

Really pleased for Sibs, Adams is such an honest player, back 3 were all monumental. COYR.

Everything coming out about Clowes/Pearson says we are hugely aware of finances and  are determined not to re-make the mistakes of the past.
If other clubs are making OTT demands for 'bit part' players then I can totally see why in consultation Warne said 'Don't do it'...
It's what I'd  have been thinking! Washington and Waghorn are supposedly close to a return,  Collins is a workhorse who's unlikely to get 'fast twitch' injuries. NML and Barks can do a job in an emergency and we now have options to cover them out wide. In an absolute disaster we can recall Brown from his loan.
No way would I have been thinking we need Wickham. Gayle at a push may have interested me... but now I'd be thinking Wickham fits more into how we play... so I'd then be lumbered with 2 players who are rusty as anything, and one of them breaks down as often as a Morris Minor.

As we near the business end of the season, with 14 games to go, the path to automatics is becoming more distinct:
win 11 and we're likely promoted; win 10 and it's very much in the balance; win 9 and it's the playoffs for us. Those 14 games are split 8 home and 6 away:
H Stevenage A Barnsley H Charlton H Port Vale A Bristol Rovers H Reading H Bolton A Northampton H Blackpool A Portsmouth A Wycombe H Orient A Cambridge H Carlisle We used up one life last Saturday by only drawing at home to Shrewsbury. If we want automatic promotion, in this mediocre division draws are effectively defeats unless playing Bolton or Portsmouth.
For this match we need to step it up in home, as we should be hoping/expecting to win 7 out of the 8 remaining home games, and then 4 out of the 6 remaining away games. It isn't quite "must-win" but it very nearly is. Let's hope the crowd gets behind the lads, and the lads give the crowd strong reason to get behind them. Come on you Rams!

I was thinking earlier the crowd could have a huge part to play on Saturday, not that it doesn’t normally, but against a side known for their strong arm approach I think backing the lads throughout AND applying pressure if and when the ref inevitably doesn’t protect our players will be even more necessary

It’s odd, we’re second top scorers in the league, joint fewest goals conceded, most away wins, in the automatic places yet it doesn’t feel like we’ve played well all season nor is there much optimism

Disappointed when PW tried to duck responsibility this way… u aren’t telling me Nyambe couldn’t have lasted five more minutes..
Sure, we may have conceded anyway but these- in my mind needless- substitutions didn’t help us at all. Changes for changes sake and to show who is in charge etc…

To be honest Collo needs to be bollocked for these continual and wasteful offsides. It’s not helping the team at all. Ok, accepted, he doesn’t possess good pace so inevitably wants to sit on the defender’s shoulders to give himself the best chance of getting to a thru ball…. But FFS… look along the line sometimes. It’s really getting tedious now.

Looking at the game today I've basically come to the conclusion that despite my happy clapping we really aren't very good. The division is poor and in it we are better than most. The football however is boring and littered with poor control and poor passing. It's as much to do with the players as it is the manager. Oh well, we are where we are.

A very turgid all round display where we nearly nicked all 3pts. Despite PW poo pooing his own first half tactics, I thought there wasn't a great deal of difference in the both halves of football. We fractionally shifted the ball quicker and better 2nd half.
Had we not been so ponderous in possession 1st half there was ample space and opportunity down each flank if we'd switched play quicker at times, especially down the left side. We definitely missed Cashins ability to mix it up with his searching diagonal passes. That could have been one of those elusive marginal differences that PW often eludes to.
Stand out performer as already mentioned was Adams snapping away and tidying up in midfield. No coincidence that we conceded within minutes of him and Nyambe exiting the field. Curtis Nelson deserves a mention too for playing in an unnatural position for him but still putting in a solid performance.
Feels like a loss after being so close to taking all the spoils. We need to learn fast how to finish teams off or at least  close games out otherwise we'll be in the godforsaken league for another season.

Spot on pal. I’ve been watching us for 50 years and have seen some dreadful sides in that time, but I have rarely been so bored at games. Yes I’m grateful we still have a club and all that. I don’t particularly expect to get promoted from where we have been the last 12/18 months. But I DO like to enjoy my Saturday afternoons which I’m not watching Warneball. The football is negative and totally uninspiring. We have the players - despite obvious deficiencies up front - to play better but are constrained by the limited and under ambitious approach of our management. Yes we are second etc etc but I’m not enjoying this and I’m sure I’m not alone. Cue the happy clappers telling me to stay at home….

I wasn't surprised by the result nor the performance.
No control yet again against a really average side who we should be dominating against. Sat on a 1 goal lead for some bizarre reason. Our only saving grace was Adams coming in and finally stopped midfield from getting bulldozed, he's a great player for this side. Exactly what we need.
Every point we have picked up since the turn of the year feels like "that'll do." The standard football is "that'll do." Unimpressive, turgid guff with no confident platform to build on if we gained promotion. Winning or drawing purely based on a team which happens to have some quality when needed, absolutely nothing to do with the manager and his setup. It's deflating and I can't believe I feel like that in a promotion race. We did get unlucky at the end with the header that somehow ended up hitting the bar. But then I'd argue we should have been 1-0 down when Bradley yet again fluffed his clearance and their lad hit it wide.
Thought the crowd gave everything for the team today and did well to put up with more horrible football on offer. It's definitely déjà vu of last season but we don't have McGoldrick to bail Warne out this time.

I'm pint half full but you can't skate around the abysmal performances this season.
We were excellent against Oxford, v good vs Wigan. Everything since has been meh.
I really felt positive going into today but the fact we played 5-3-2 at home against a bottom 6 team is unforgivable.
Nyambe, Sonny and Nelson were a back 3 with no-one to break the lines.
Yes, we are 2nd. I have no idea how. I haven't seen football this bad since little Billy. Yes, it's winning but boy is it boring.

Exactly how I feel. This is the first season in over 40 years that I can’t be arsed to go to a game. It is weird that we are in 2nd but I am so underwhelmed. Even with a lot of the games I’ve seen on tv, the football is laboured and turgid…..

    Sorry to read this Rev.
I have been like it for months. Can’t be arsed to pay a tenner to watch the tripe being served up; the 3 or 4 games I have actually seen since Stevenage on TV have all been underwhelming.
I still enjoy this forum, and find it far more entertaining to follow than actually watching the games. Logged on at 2 to see @Caerphilly Ram put the team news up, posted a few things, and decided with a 3 at the back not to hang around and simply checked the score at half time and full time.
Flicking through here tonight I read that again we played poorly. It was of course always going to be a difficult game, with Warne letting us know on Thursday that Shrewsbury had such a good midfield that we couldn’t try to go through them, just over and round them. The bloke is an absolute clown, and it continues to be my view that he is holding us back. No surprise that game management was a problem again in the final few minutes.

Apparently a lot of fans weren't bothered when we didn't sign a striker and are happy for us to put Barks up there.  A player that couldn't hit a barn door.
Cannot believe that a team that look so devoid of ideas going forward can get promoted.  Been a season completely lacking in entertainment or excitement for me.   Was more enjoyable last season and I never thought I'd be saying that.
