We didn't play well at Oxford. The ability to pass and retain possession has seemingly vanished.

However unlike Collins he knows where to be and gets involved. He's still learning and has talent and energy, Collins doesn't.

We were diabolical today with poor selection and hopeless application. No energy, no threat and no bloody idea. Davies is well past it and Collins is as useful as chocolate fireguard. Too many weak areas and Fleetwood played us off the park.

I thought Robert’s did ok too. All the subs  were ok nothing special and too little too late all the damage was done in a truly shocking first half.

The performance levels from the best players was still terrible.
They failed as a group, top player to bottom player. Possibly only Dobbin having any credit at all.
    Not acceptable!

They were probably wondering where was the setup that got them the long unbeaten run...no, I don't know either.

I agree except for the last line and the players bit. I've had a real wobble.
It's plain Fozzy is no LB and is a decent CH. It's clear we play little football from the back with Curtis, it's one thing him playing when there's injuries but not out of choice. The difference in the second half was like night and day.
Why on earth take off Sibs when we need goals, why leave Collins on who did almost nothing (I'm being kind) all game. He could have started a dustbin up front and there'd have been more interchanges!
They are the two biggest questions, there are others but they're lesser.
If he's not figured it out by next match then I'll have a little panic.

The management team need to work out what on earth was going on in the players heads today. Worryingly they collapsed as a group, it wasn’t just a few individuals.
    Awful!

I don’t agree . It was far worse. Not sure Lampard had any options up front that were fully fit. As far as I know, Robert’s was fully fit , so why play a past it Davies ? And why play Springett? Or Hourihane? Or Collins?

I was praying he would continue to do something daft as he'd been niggly and mardy and fouling their players all afternoon. But there apparently is no god and he stayed on.
I have NO idea what Warne is thinking leaving Collins on for anyone, I'd have happily played with a man who can score and another man who can score (Sibs & Didz) but instead we get Collins. I cannot imagine Warne's reasoning.

Their record coming into the game is irrelevant. It's still well done Fleetwood. Thoroughly deserved.

Too many unnecessary changes in the starting line up today. If Didz and Knight are fit you play them every time. And you play two of Dobbin, Barks and NML. Not sure why Roberts doesn’t get more games. This is not the time of season to pick Springett and Davies just to give them a game. If anyone needs resting it’s Hourihane. Warne messed up today.

Well we got away with one, today! It seems we have learned nothing from our previous few games in this poor run. We are still lumping the ball around hoping that on the odd occasion it will land near one of our own players. Oxford move the ball around very well, and in addition they are very good at ratting around, which we tend not to be, and that is the difference which gave them the bulk of the possession. They didn't give us a moment's breathing space, a situation we don't like and can't cope with on the whole. There are increasing cries for Derby to get the ball on the ground and play football with it, especially after the Plymouth game on Tuesday, and I would have thought that the expected reaction to that result would see us playing to our strengths. But no, hardly a sight of it, just kick it long and/or into the channels. Sadly Corey Smith was the worst culprit. We've been wanting him to be moved into midfield for weeks now, and he did bring a bit of defensive metal to the side, but virtually every time he got the ball, he simply hoofed it up into the air and 4 yards up the pitch. And straight to an Oxford player - I don't think he got the ball to a Derby player once! Very disappointing. And on the rare occasions we actually played football, we looked dangerous and scored.
Pick of the bunch were Wildsmith (despite flapping at the ball for the first goal), as he kept us in the match several times, and, of course, Sibley. He took his chances really well, with the first one being a typical Sibbers goal, as was the second!!! His contribution was strong for most of the match, and was playing with a bit of authority today. His time away at left back, and sadly on the bench has seen him return a much better footballer. And that's about it, although it was good to see Max Bird back out on the green stuff!
And I hardly noticed the ref today, which might mean we have had yet another good ref, which makes the grand total of 3 this season - an embarrassment of riches! He actually got a load wrong, but he certainly wasn't the absolute buffoon we normally get.
It seems crazy, we played so poorly but could have come away with 5 goals! WE dug in and held on, and showed some character, and sometimes, as may have said, the result is all that matters. So having shown that we've got some balls, lets now play some football.
    COYR!

Watching the highlights, those are two exquisite goals from Sibley. Of a quality far above League One and this match. I would post this in the Sibley thread, but it's got such a cringeworthy title I'm posting here instead. Utterly brilliant from the young man.

I give him credit for that, but doesn’t mean he won the header. It was the only good thing he did today. We came away with three points today through pure luck. I’ve only never seen a derby team win a football game with a poorer performance than that. It’s not a good thing, as 99 times out of 100 we lost playing like that.
Evens up some of the points we lost to teams robbing us earlier in the season granted, but to say there’s any positives to take from that apart from the 3 points is simply untrue. We were awful. 50% pass accuracy. 50%!

I would sooner Curtis Davies come on as the centre forward replacement substitute than Collins. Think he would win more headers and cause the opposition defence more problems.

Might be time to add Cybulski to the bench maybe he can have a impact coming off it has Collins appears to not affect the game either starting or coming on.
