  1. Our first team squad was only £7.2m. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-accounts-2022-2023-9150184.amp Bolton's footballing budget 'increased to £8m' in 21/22, but this will include other things besides first team squad (although that will be the vast majority of it). https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/23451852.bolton-wanderers-accounts-show-progress-made-off-pitch/
  2. Can't believe opposition fans are still peddling this crap. Yes, we have a good wage budget for the league, but 50% more than Bolton? Utter rubbish.
  3. I'd put good money on him still being a Derby player next season, regardless of what league we're in.
  4. I don't understand how his personality can be so effervescent and outgoing, and then his style of football just.. isn't. I know they're not mutually exclusive, but it's weird how polar opposite they are.
  5. Certainly seen them given. One thing's for sure though - I'd be absolutely screaming for it if roles were reversed! And if it wasn't given, I'd be straight on here after the game lamenting how bad the refs are and how corrupt the EFL is 😆
  6. His energy is infectious. I imagine it's the same on the pitch too.
  7. Oh yeah - didn't even twig that! And guess who's not been in the squad in the four games since the window closed.
  8. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-talking-points-stevenage-9107538 Confirms it was Harry Leonard who we were about to sign, before Blackburn's boss pulled the plug.
  9. I'd be surprised if he went anywhere else in League One. Guaranteed starter in a winning side for at least the next 3 or 4 weeks, with good odds for another promotion on his CV. And I bet we can pay him a good wage too. Who else would be more attractive at this moment in time?
  10. There has to come a point where we fluke so many wins, that it can no longer be called a fluke. Perhaps we're just an efficient, effective, but not particularly eye-catching side? 🤷‍♂️
  11. Out of contract in the summer too. Sad to think that we *may* have seen the last of Collins in a Derby shirt. On the flip side, imagine if he came back for the last few games, scoring the goal(s) to seal our promotion 😍
  12. My dad finally lost his battle this morning at the ridiculous age of 64. Over the past month or so, he got stuck in a cycle of having excess fluid drained, the fluid coming back, being drained again, etc. The fluid eventually got into his lungs and, on top of that, he had the cancer in the background (which they couldn't directly treat because of all of the draining), and a skin infection that eventually led to sepsis. It was just too many issues for him to fight, even though he gave it a damn good go. He deteriorated rapidly last night to the point of being very agitated and delirious, and I got a call from the nurses to come in at 3am. I knew it was the beginning of the end then, and the decision was made to withdraw treatment at about 11am. He went very peacefully within the hour. Part of me wants to carry on like normal - go to the match tomorrow and have a few drinks after - but the healthiest decision is probably to skip it and have a bit of alone time to process it all. I echo the last sentence of my previous post too - f*** cancer.
  13. 'Hopeful he (Collins) will be available for the weekend, but that might be me being too optimistic', Warne says.
  14. What the hell is wrong with Elder?! Injured every other game. Fingers crossed for Collo.
  15. I hope you're right, although I'm not convinced 😬
  16. Bloody hell, get him in the House of Commons. Proper politician's answer.
  17. Belper chippy in this itinerary
  18. https://www.espn.co.uk/nfl/story/_/id/39465861/2024-nfl-honors-won-league-biggest-awards Completely understand it's a QB-orientated league, but I'm gutted Puka Nacua didn't win OROY. I thought it would be a bit closer in terms of voting, but 48 votes for Stroud out of 50 says otherwise.
  19. Thought this Twitter thread was interesting about falling in love with loan players. The number of Vale fans mentioning this guy suggests he's quite the player. It's just a shame that this rumour never materialised into something concrete for us.
  20. The build-up was nice for the goal against Peterborough but, yeah, Collins vs Cheltenham is a clear winner.
