Don't be so down, of cause we've learned something during the pandemic. We've learned if you donate to the tory party, you'll be given millions of pounds of taxpayers money in return.

Ah, but back then it was 'politicising the pandemic' and anyone guilty of this heinous crime was quite rightly derided ?
It's a genuine tragedy that it's taken 100 thousand deaths for us all to arrive at at something vaguely akin to a consensus, but in broader terms, nothing has really changed. Climate change is the next hill on which we'll die and in our millions too, because we've learned nothing from this pandemic, nothing at all.

What hindsight?   Look at posts in the original Coronavirus thread, there were questions being asked then about the slowness of the lockdown, not closing borders quick enough and the rationale in allowing sporting events to take place.

Well surprise surprise, the report on how the country dealt with the pandemic is published. The first thing the government do is throw the scientists under the bus as they attempt to distance themselves of any blame.
And where's the leader of these cowards, the person that went missing at the start of this national disaster? Hiding in Spain, so no change there

There will be a lot of that, but on the other hand 140k people have died of covid in the UK. It's absolutely right to look at how many of those deaths were avoidable and who could have done more to avoid them
Arguments like "in hindsight, how was I supposed to know that I really ought to have attended those early COBRA meetings?" and then ruffling his floppy hair with a hapless look on his face, won't really wash IMO

Absolutely - the first wedding our youngest went to was two of our lesbian friends. He was 5 and never even questioned it. He's grown up understanding love for what it is
It's a shame that there is still an older generation who see any depictions of true love in popular culture story telling as "forcing an agenda" and not "accurately representing the world around us"

The suggestion of Presley's Can't help falling in love  made by @Shaftesbury st at the start of the thread is one of the best song suggestions made. The lyrics work and the tempo of the tune makes it easy for a crowd to sing along to.

With the club teetering on the brink of liquidation, we're debating the pros and cons of any potential  new owners. I'm sorry beggers can't be choosers, if it means there's still a viable club for me to support in the future then I'll take what ever is on offer. But I'll draw the line at being owned by a murdering misogynistic despot.

Ivermectin a drug used for de-worming horses. A drug that the company that manufactures it, who  know exactly what's in it and  are telling people not to use it, as it has no benifit in the treatment of covid. A drug that has not only lead to people becoming seriously ill but sadly the death of many Americans who were  supid enough to take a drug designed for animals.
I find it amusing that many of the people decrying the use of vaccines that they claim are untested. Are the same people who earlier in the pandemic were extolling the virtues of hydroxychloroquine and are now championing the use of Ivermectin in the treatment of covid.

My wife and I like most of the population want to return to a pre covid life. We like many others are getting out and about more including attending Pride Park. But feel even after being vaccinated there's a need to carry on taking precautions.  We both still wear our masks in shops, on public transport etc. and social distance where possible, not the full 6ft but as much as practical.
As we attempt to get back to normality we are now entering premises that are becoming more crowded, but we would fell more comfortable doing so if everyone was still wearing a mask.
I don't understand the reluctance of something as simple as wearing a mask if it means more people can start to enjoy their lives again.
After seeing the resent figures that show an increase in the number of covid cases. I wouldn't like to see a call for a return to the restrictions we had earlier, but a return to mandatory mask wearing would seem a prudent move. At least until the percentage of people vaccinated is higher.

Now we're on a roll for how we can utilise our military personnel. Wouldn't want the RAF to feel left out, so maybe we could use them to help Amazon establish their drone delivery service.
But there again we might not need any extra home deliveries if we follow the advice given in a speech  by a member of parliament this weekend.  He suggested forgetting about supermarkets and their supply chains and nipping down to the local farm to buy our products directly from the farmer.
If I can find a local farm that'll sell me a pig for a good price, anyone know how to butcher it? Hopefully the farmer will kill it or getting it home in the back of the car may be a problem.

Once the army have finished driving petrol tankers around the country. Will they then be kept busy helping out delivering Christmas essentials. I'm sure a few soldiers could utilise their bayonets to butcher the meat needed for the nation's Christmas lunch
Should the government ask if the Royal Navy can help out with the global supply chain. I wonder how many shipping containers could be stacked on to the flight decks of our two aircraft carriers.

Maybe their tanks could be used to squirt petrol at passing cars. Just ensure car petrol cap is open first so no need to queue.
