  1. It’s Roger Sloman, playing for Barnstoneworth United in Ripping Yarns.
  2. TBF we only have a few out of date party poppers to fire.
  3. Sad day for stupid boys everywhere.
  4. We were the same, but because no one ever makes themselves available for throw-ins! We end up throwing it down the line hoping the opponent heads it out or to one of our players (neither of which usually happens).
  5. TBH as long as it’s not a break, a week off would probably help him. He has run his nuts off for months now and we need him fresh for the remainder of the season.
  6. Meat to be beaten first then should be done in a minute.
  7. Okay great. I have already accepted so hopefully will see you on the day!

  12. A lot of the game was played in our half but we didn’t really look like conceding. Adams and Bird played well in midfield but Hourihane was bypassed so many times again. He did calm things down a bit at the end. Vickers still worries me. He doesn’t know whether to stick or twist on crosses. Collins battled well. NML took his goal well and hopefully isn’t too badly injured. Barkhuisen has bright moments then gives the ball away. Not first choice for me. Sibley did okay at LB, Ward put some lovely crosses in. Back three just about managed to get in the way of everything. 1-0 is always nervy but I think we looked more like scoring than they did.
  13. Pretty solid TBH. They got help from Adams as well. Steady performance by the team today.
  14. Interesting line up. There is some logic there. Ward is better in this formation. Hopefully he’ll get some nice crosses in. Looking forward to seeing Adams play.
  15. I think Collins’ support play is underrated. He lays the ball off quite well. Earlier in the season he wasn’t taking up good positions in the box. He still doesn’t at times, being the wrong side of his defender or the keeper. I hope he will learn from his goal against Cheltenham where he dropped back a couple of paces to find the space for his volley. He has surprised me in the past few weeks and I hope he will continue to score goals.
  16. It’s what a Scotsman says when his wife asks for more housekeeping money.
  17. Football is a business and everyone wants to make the most of their career. He’s done his bit for us and I’m sure will do his best between now and the end of the season. If we think there’s a better option he’ll drop to the bench but at the moment he’s the best we have in midfield.
  18. As a free agent, can we not let him train on a trial period? Goal scorers retain their ability. It’s just fitness and desire that wanes. If he really wants to end his career on a high, let’s get him in. If not, move on and work with what we’ve got. CBT has had an inauspicious start but may well get 8-10 goals between now and the end of the season, so Warne may think we have enough. Gayle won’t come if he thinks he’s a bench warmer. He’s had enough of that. If he wants success and adulation, he’ll fight his way into any team at this level.
  19. Nyambe is obviously first choice RB but I think it would be unfair to leave Wilson out. He should be in the right of a three man midfield for me. He can then work with Nyambe to create on the right side. Adams will probably start on the bench but if he’s any good, should then play with either Bird or Hourihane (not both) filling the third slot. Suspect the latter two will start tomorrow.
  20. Can anyone tell me why we are suddenly in crisis ahead of this game? Seems to me that a) we have one extra body available for selection in an area of concern b) we will be very well placed if we win I’m just looking forward to a good performance and hopefully a comfortable win. Think Collins and NML will re-find their form.
