  1. He’s lost pace for sure and there were a couple of balls into the box which he might have gotten on the end of a few years back. Just wonder if he and Collins could play together? He looks like he needs a second person to help him create space in the box. With NML freed up to supply them from the wing I reckon they could be a potent force.
  2. I have to show incredible restraint when someone scans a three page menu before exclaiming ‘there’s nothing on here that I like’.
  3. Precisely. If they closed their eyes they couldn’t find opponents so unerringly. All power, no precision. This is what contributes to scrappy football. Little wonder our midfield struggles. They are either trying to control a ball fired at them or indeed to watch a ball fly over them.
  4. TV 1Wildsmith. 4. Unprofessional 24Nyambe 7 7Barkhuizen. 5 35Nelson. 6 5Bradley. 5 6Cashin. 6.5 2Wilson. 4.5 and I’m a fan of his 12Smith. 6.5 17Sibley. 5 32Adams. 5.5 27Blackett-Taylor 5 11Méndez-Laing. 5 8Bird 🐦 5 25Gayle. 5.5 10Waghorn. 5
  5. The ball control and passing are woeful at times. Do they just do set pieces in training? And throw ins? Lost count of the times we threw to an unopposed Charlton player. Ludicrous. I’m telling you, Sonny Bradley messes that team up. Take him out, let Cashin and Nelson do what they did so well. Play two proper full backs and have six players ahead of them who can create goals. It’s not rocket science.
  6. Assus collapsus. Brainless football from the boys tonight. Long ball, no plan and with too many underperforming. Three wingers on the pitch at the end. Bradley, as captain, aimlessly punting balls forward. The penalty was abysmal. Wildsmith should be fined a week’s wages. Something has happened with that lad. He got dropped and has looked all over the place in the past few games. Thought Korey Smith was okay and Cashin and Nelson were generally good. Losing Nyambe was a big blow as he was solid. The rest was dire.
  7. This really is arse gravy at its soupiest.
  8. Really hope Gayle opens his account. A confident Gayle could make all the difference to our season.
  9. He might think that with Adams and Smith happy to drop back to help protect against breaks, he can really release Wilson and Sibley to support the front two. Our wing backs have often seemed reluctant to commit. Personally I’d play 4-3-3 every week and let opponents worry about us rather than the other way round.
  10. I agree and it wouldn’t be my starting line up but with Gayle and CBT lacking match fitness and five at the back I can’t see him doing anything else. Really hope I’m wrong and that for a change we start brightly.
  11. I think Warne will try to combine his love of Bradley in a 5-3-2 with a concession to attacking intent. Think Gayle and CBT will be introduced from the bench and that the lineup will be Wildsmith Wilson Nelson Bradley Cashin Sibley Adams Smith Bird Barkhuisen NML
  12. I actually liked both series. Alice and Jack is different because he just finds himself obsessed by her, in spite of all her inconsistencies and insecurities. One Day was more of a Jane Austen style love story, and had a more lasting effect on me. I had no idea of the story and didn’t know anything about the film. I would say I enjoyed it more but Alice and Jack was very good.
  13. Each week we moan about the standard of football, ask ourselves why we do it (me in particular with a four hour round trip), then leap in the air when we score and find ourselves there again and again. It’s like a drug. Generally bad but with just enough highs to keep it pleasurable.

  15. I think whilst there’s definitely merit in your suggestion it’s really difficult to assess our best starting eleven as we have a few inconsistent players. I think Wilson for example has more skill than pretty much everyone else in the squad but he isn’t always effective. I don’t think Hourihane should start in midfield. It puts too much pressure on the other two. Smith isn’t quick either but he does generally take up good positions and passes sensibly, but he’s not a long term solution. I can’t believe Fornah is as poor as he’s shown so far. He needs to develop his play and be more proactive. If we could develop Wilson on the right of a three man midfield happy days. We need three up front to keep the opposition pinned back and to get back in the goals. We have Gayle in. Let’s create some space for him.
  16. Succession would have to be up there and Boardwalk Empire. Curb and Fawlty Towers comedy-wise but I also loved Porridge.
  17. Bradley might play well but it’s the effect his presence has on Cashin and Nelson that bothers me. They were imperious as a pairing but seem unsure of their positioning in a three. We also lack a good third midfielder to complement Bird and Adams. Someone with more energy and power than Hourihane. Sibley might be the best option.
  18. Yeah, 200 is looking a bit dodgy now! Can’t help thinking we are a bit negative and letting India bowl as they want to. A few lusty blows will get the field back.
  19. If we play 4-3-3 second. If we play 5-3-2 third at best We cannot play in such a negative fashion, especially at home. Get NML back on the wing where he’s happiest.
  20. It’s a pretty even match now. The wicket hasn’t deteriorated as much as most experts thought. The odd one bounces or keeps low but overall it’s pretty slow and flat. Will Bazball return? England might decide that they need to have a go before one comes with their name on it. Anderson and Robinson haven’t been effective today and Bashkirs might be tired in the second innings so we will need to score 300+ to set them 350 or more. Jurel batted really well. He’s such a calm character.
  21. They forgot Wilson. If Nyambe and Barks are the two changes, Wilson must be starting.
  22. Website has forgotten Wilson who I imagine will start RWB again. Sibley up front with NML?
