  1. Gosh what a shock. Such a pity he was ditched by the Beeb. Hope he gets a decent tribute.
  2. Is he really going out with 3-5-2? "Well, there he is, let's ask him" "Warney, is that Sonny’s ring you're wearing?" "Mmm-hmm" "Gee, it must be great riding with him" "Is he picking you up after the game today?" "Mmm-mmm" "By the way, where did you meet him?" I met him at the candy store He turned around and smiled at me You get the picture "Yes, we see" That's when I fell for the three men at the back.
  3. I think that’s our strongest eleven if they’re fit. Could just as easily be 4-4-2. Would Warne be brave enough? 🤞
  4. Didn’t work Saturday. Never will. Even if Ward or Sibley get into wide areas, who can they cross it to? Collins on his own against two defenders or NML who can’t head it? Need to go 4-3-3 and let them worry about us. Two central defenders is enough at this level. Three get in each other’s space.
  5. Can understand your reservations but who from our current midfield options, could you say wouldn’t give the ball away? At least Wilson gives us the potential to do something good, not just run around as per Thompson, Fornah etc. We need to get good ball to NML and Wilson will commit defenders to create space for him. He’s also got the reassurance of Nyambe behind him.
  6. Oh no! Who’s going to move slowly and wave a weak leg at the opposition as they run past?
  7. Yep. Wildsmith Nyambe Nelson Cashin Elder Wilson Adams Bird NML Collins CBT CBT could be one of our other fit forwards.
  8. I think the really irritating thing is that we have the personnel to play exciting football. I’d love to see Wilson, who could make space in a cupboard, play as our right-sided midfielder. He would play so well supporting NML. We should always play Collins and a third forward, either CBT or one of Wash, Wag or Bark (which sounds like a Paul O’Grady show). Bird and Adams would support Wilson and everything should flow nicely. Pick four defenders, not hybrids. Simples!
  9. I get the impression that CBT isn’t the player Warne thought he was signing. The player said how keen he was to be joining Derby but he didn’t look keen when he played and there was some suggestion from Warne that he hadn’t trained well. Similarly I haven’t heard Warne say how excited he is to get CBT in the team. His half time ‘warm-up’ couldn’t have been less lacklustre. I think he thought he would swan into the starting lineup and that Warne is showing him you have to work for it.
  10. Must stay I’m enjoying the pre-match music. Really cranks up the expectation. Wish the first five minutes had the same tempo!
  11. Yes, Adam’s doesn’t take a backward step. We shouldn’t expect great things from a creative perspective but he will allow others to flourish. No coincidence that Bird has played well in the past two games.
  12. I think the players need to take a lot of responsibility for yesterday too. Shrewsbury are bang average and yesterday was a nailed on three points if the players had just a little imagination. Neither Sibley nor Ward are quick enough to knock the ball past defenders and cross it. However a quick wall pass with the midfield should get them in a crossing position. We all know Ward is the best crosser of a ball in the club but other than a sublime free kick, he didn’t fashion an opportunity. He is experienced enough to work out that without his crossing he’s nothing but he couldn’t change it.
  13. I’m glad Warne owned up to the error in selection. In fact, his interview was all I hoped it would be. We need to get back to a proper four man defence with Nyambe, Nelson, Cashin and Elder. Bird, Adams and god knows who in midfield (Sibley again?) NML, Collins and if he’s any good, CBT up front. And let’s have a go! We were so timid yesterday until it was too late.

  15. Pretty worrying if he felt he needed a head start against those two dunderheads yesterday.
  16. I’m still on a train back having left home at 10am this morning. I was really looking forward to the game. My mood altered when I saw the starting lineup. Three central defenders at home against a team with no forwards. As expected we created nothing first half. Bradley is a waste of space and his inclusion and the inclusion of Hourihane, weaken us. Ward and Sibley were too cautious. If we lost NML our season would be over. He’s the only one who plays with ambition. CBT must be poor if he can’t get a game. Only half an hour to go….
  17. No the latest one. Like a ghost story mixed with Fortitude. Interesting but not really entertaining.
  18. Pigs make terrible leaders.
  19. Good for talking to delivery people when you’re out. You can speak to them through your phone on the ring doorbell.
  20. There’s a wall running up to the front door. The fox jumps up and poses for the camera. We call him Michael J.
