Taking inspiration from @sage, I'm currently sucking down a Gulden Draak 9000. Followed by an Erdinger Pikantus.
Also, building up my stock, I've just put in orders from Belgiuminabox, BeersofEurope and web-bier.de.
If covid-19 is going to take me, I'm going to make sure that I'm pickled for posterity.

Samichlaus Schwarzes (and South Park on the tv).
This black monster is 14% abv, and it is a lager. And it's black, and very, very awesome. Sorry about the glassphemy (it's in the Gulden Draak 'dragon egg' glass - I don't have a Samichlaus glass, but I'm hoping that Samichlaus might bring me one.

Just picked up some Fun Sponge from the Furnace Inn, £3 a pint. Plus some Shiny Lager  £3.20 a pint and you can take your own containers or they provide.
    Both Gluten Free
@froggg recognise the pint pot? ??

Peak Ales are a great local brewery. They’ve recently brought a range of new beers and the stout and IPA are very very good

I still don't understand why Derbyshire brewery Thornbridge don't appear to have a single pub in Derbyshire, but poo loads in Sheffield and now (apparently) one in Birmingham. It does actually put me off them a little bit!
Anyway, currently sipping a Buxton/Omnipollo Yellow Belly Sundae (their peanut butter & biscuit imperial stout, this time aged in bourbon barrels, at 12%). I say sipping, but I have no self control and it's only taken me about 20 minutes to drink it.

Sounds worth a try although I usually prefer bottles if not drinking in the pub.
    This is a nice pint,

An oldy but started watching Still Game on Netflix over lockdown, just to watch something less intense and it’s perfect. Just a daft and funny sitcom with a wee bit of heart. Lovely stuff and easy going. Final series is only on iplayer though at the moment.

Series 1 is perfection, series 2 and 3 imo are very near perfection but don’t quite hit the height of series 1.
Detectorists is comfortably one of the best shows of the last decade.

I thought I'd set your expectations low then you may be pleasantly surprised. (as I say to the wife but, I still seem to disappoint?)

For those who like the true crime stuff the unabomber doc on Netflix is worth a watch. Didn’t know much about it him going but it really goes into a good amount of detail of his psyche and how we was able to get away with it.

If anybody is going to the festival at Roundabout then check out Peak Ales new venture Off Peak. I know PA are there so presume they will be selling some. They had a Meet The Brewer night at The Joiners in Bakewell a few weeks back where they showed off the new brews and they are quite excellent.

@TuffLuff wasn't actually joking. I work for a brewery in dispense side of things, and that is literally what that is. When bubbles cling to the side like that, it means the glass is dirty, usually greasy. Likely caused by washing them with things like coffee cups instead of in a glass washer with other glasses. Means your pint will go flat very quickly, and it's just a bit unappetising.

Take that back, that glass is greasy as anything. That's disgusting.

Missing the game today as I’m on a ferry in the Hebrides. This, along with the views, are helping me through though

Veltins nearly became the lager of choice in a lot of pubs I went to. Used to really like it then had a couple of shocking pints in a row which put me off and it was eventually replaced. I presume like most lagers* it’s not the easiest to keep at its very best and eventually gave up on it. It’s now really been replaced with Birra Moretti. A similar thing happened with Freedom Lager too, although I’ve started seeing that again in a few places.
*quick clarification, im not sure how true the ‘lagers are difficult to keep’ bit is. A landlord once said to me that Stella needed to be kept at a certain temp for it to be at its best and in fairness that Stella Artois was one of the best I’ve had

Had this one for the first time while in Spain.  Excellent beer, a bit bitter.
