Really don't want to buy into the whole 'we are doomed' idea, but this is rather worrying and a fire sale seems fairly likely now, even if all ends up well in the end.

On another note, working in a not-too dissimilar industry, I'd be fuming if one of my colleagues had stated something was imminent to either client or public, only for the item to remain outstanding a week later. Number one rule is to manage expectations.

As I said several days ago, imminent means weeks or months to accountants, they use this to try and bat the disappointment down the road.
As has been said, their job is to get the best financial outcome, that may not be selling the club as a going concern.  It may consist of a fire sale of out best players, then announce liquidation once the TW window closes....
I no longer believe a word they say!!!

Some people need to have some reality, keep moaning about a preferred bidder not being announced is not going to speed things up.

I understand how delays can happen in the corporate world.  Transactions are complex with seemingly endless issues that need to be factored in.
That being said we are after midday on the last day of the year (The latest deadline that has been touted).  If it wasn't to happen today I would have expected an announcement by now to make that clear.
Yes, the administrators are not employed by the fans and, ultimately, have little to no responsibility to us, but you would think that stakeholder management would be on the priority list somewhere.

I think its time administrators got up off there back sides and told the fans what the hell is going on, and not via their friends at Talksport either.
How can a club make such an arse of a takeover so many times.

Well Mr. Morris, i wonder how you are feeling just lately regarding DCFC.
If you had concentrated on "your" club instead of being besotted with picking fights with the EFL you would have seen your aspirations  of half the team being made up of academy players realised and taking the credit for it.
As things stand at the minute those young players who play with heart and soul every match may well be sold to rectify the mess you left us in.
I hope you are happy with yourself Mr. Morris because i'm certainly not happy with you and that's putting it mildly. I daren't post what i think or a ban would be coming my way.
    Happy New Year.

Who the hell are u to tell me what to do.
I've said this before and I'll say it again (because you have told me to grow up more than once), in fact it may have been last Christmas during the BZI debacle.
Anyone with the username "Phil My C#ck" is in no position to tell anyone to grow up.
And if you are seriously telling me your name really is Phil Mycock, it goes a long long way to explain why you have a chip on your shoulder.
I can only imagine the ribbings you took as a kid ?

I assume that any further delay this week will be down to the Ghislaine Maxwell verdict. The EFL is surely thumbing through its regulations to work out how many more points they can deduct. Mark Lawrenson and Oxford United are also apparently in talks with Steve Gibson about joining a class action suit against us.

It’s still a leverage point though which could be used to drive up the price and achieve a better result for creditors, that is all that’s being said. Personally don’t think it’s a strong leverage point more a nibble towards the end of this first negotiation to try and get a better position.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the quietness of remaining parties as well as the admin team regarding the preferred bidder, it's called professionalism (however I as well would like to see some movement very soon).
Let's be honest we wouldn't even know about the Chris "Like, Share & Subscribe" Kirchner bid and his withdrawal had it not plastered it all over Twitter.
The admins came out ASAP and nipped in the bud any media sensationalism who probably would have alluded to that we're finished as a football club and/or the admin team are farting around based just on Kirchner withdrawal tweet, when the reality is he got out bid, took his toys and went home.

No one is doubting that property and financial agreements often take a long time to finalise and can hit unexpected speed bumps along the way. Anyone who has bought a house, even with no chain, can probably attest to that. What I do find hard to believe though is that completion/outcomes are often described as “imminent” even though they are several weeks or months away.
The administrators will have dealt with HMRC and other creditors on many occasions and no doubt be very familiar with how long these things take. Therefore, IMO, unless they genuinely thought such negotiations were very well advanced and likely to be concluded within a day or two, based on their previous experience, then use of the word imminent was a little careless. Also, don’t forget, we’re talking about announcement of the preferred bidder here not completion of the whole process.

The admin team said Kirchner’s bid had been below other bids (plural).
They also said that after Kirchner’s hissy fit another bidder has raised their bid, so higher still.
They are professional people , they won’t be lying.

I've worked around property deals for a long time, the amount of times Ive been told a lease or sale would be signed the folliwing day, only for it to wait another 2 - 3 weeks, alsorts of things can hold deals up.
Dont forget we are dealing with HMRC here, civil servants, who don't do urgent.....
There's also Mel, MSD, Creditors, EFL, banks, Appleby's investors, think it obvious he will if anyone be the one....
