  1. The biggest red flag for me was he seemed to have no interest in buying the ground, the only tangible asset to make the deal even close to a sound offer.  I was castigated when I raised this point by a few.

The real questions of course need to be answered by the inept Quantuma who did not insist on the £5M non-refundable deposit.

Who could the EFL fit and proper directors test have been passed or the proof of funds?

It was to use Kirchners words a total f%ckjob!

Not saying he is the best signing but young Roberts was very very good at left back yesterday. Made the position his own. Shame he's only on loan.

Might be an option to buy at the end of the loan.  Don't forget we are restricted by a business plan.  I suspect welcomed by David Clowes as he does not need the pressure off some of our fans, who would be demanding to see a cheque booked flashed.

Looks like a fantastic squad with zero spend do far.....  A few more to add and I can see us completing for a top 6 finish....  ???

Presume I’m allowed an opinion on this. I didn’t tell them to do this only suggested this would have been an appropriate course of action.

If they decide not to then that’s on them.

My feeling on this is that it’s not racist but is racially insensitive. (No matter the intention, of course I don’t think this was intentional). I don’t think it has a place.

The job of an admin is to look into this.

Yes of course you are allowed and opinion, but you're not a moderator and its not for you to educate or correct peoples posts (Close down peoples freedom of speech), you can of course report a post if you think its unacceptable and let the moderators then decide.

I still disagree, as does it appear the majority, that the post was racially sensitive, black people themselves including our politicians, sportsmen and women have often said I'm the first black male/female to have achieved this and rightly proud of the fact.......  If they are happy and proud to refer to themselves as a black person, what's the issue?

What next?  Do we have to stop referring to people as Scottish, Welsh, Irish and English anymore, after all its a descriptor?  It would be different if someone said that English t@*t, that would then make it a racist (xenophobic) comment.

Still no actions from the moderators, so clearly these comments have been seen as fine, had it ever occurred to you that you might have been overly sensitive on this point?  Some people are far too worried about offending people, when there really is no need, the main thing is to be respectful when you communicate directly to or about someone.  If someone doesn't like how you've communicated to them or about them, let them raise the issue, rather than being offended for others, when 9 out of 10 those being allegedly 'protected' wouldn't of raised the issue as there wasn't one!.

I don’t disagree, but name me a club where the owners have a 100% approval rating, they just don’t exist, it is a shame but that’s the game.

This season is pretty much a free pass, but next summer, all this will be history, I guarantee it.

You could be right, hopefully we will go up though, DC can sell up and move back to his seat in the stands.  I could be wrong, but, I do not see this as a long term project for him, its a charity act of mercy to save the club.  He may get his money back if we get promoted, with a sound business plan in place.

He's basically cleaning up another persons mess by paying more than the club was worth and for that whatever this or subsequent seasons bring I shall be eternally greatful to him.

Err don't think this is a new "woke" issue. I think for decades it's been widely inappropriate to describe someone solely on the colour of their skin. Really inappropriate. Obviously nothing meant by it, but it's worth picking it up and saying.  "Appreciate nothing meant by it B4 but referring to someone solely on the colour of their skin can be offensive, try describing them in another for example... ".  No massive woke war of words needed just a PM from one of the mods, probably the post removing/editing and move on.

There is no need for an edit, your views are your views, but, you do not get to decide what's appropriate on this message board, its for David and his team to do so.  Clearly they see no issue and feel that its fine to stay, which is why the moderators have not amended the post.

I think we should leave the moderators to do there jobs rather than trying to do it for them, there jobs difficult enough as it is!

It was a fair observation by big bad ram, surprised and disappointed so many felt the need to pass comment/criticise and it cracks me up when people throw ‘woke’ in.. let’s all tar everything with the same brush and ridicule and demean it shall we?

Shall we bring back Ron Atkinson, Richard Keys and Andy Gray - proper football people who said it like it is

It was a massive overaction, I'd suggest you look up the term for woke and have a think.

Anyone with 2 brain cells can see this was not the actions of someone being racist.  Yet someone who probably spends the majority of thier time being offended on behalf of others; feels the need to have a pop.

So yes it was a clear case of wokery in my view and it seems the majority of posters, who have rightly come to B4s defence!

Now can we all move on?

He paid the wages and clearly paying off the debts.

How do we know that for sure, Kirchner's after a protracted period of silence usually preceeds disappointment and yes Im very concerned.

B4 I know youve found this particularly hard, I do believe 100% we will have a club  just not the owner you were expecting ?

Deal not yet closed, no reason given. Ed has spoken to Q, not to CK. Still waiting for update, no news.

    Don't shoot the messenger ?

So that means us perceived wrist slashers were right to be concerned then.  This is going to collapse, Kirchner is far too quite....

Time to stop jerking around and get Ashley or Appleby in!

I don't think I am a negative poster I can't help but be uncomfortable at the number of times we have been told deals will be done only to find there are still a number of obstacles between our club and safety. They may get resolved in the next 24 hours but may not and I have to say that I am getting tired of continually being told that everything will be sorted  very soon. It may well be sorted soon but for how long have we been told that? I love my club but  I am so fed up with all the missed dates and delays and bank holiday problems.

Careful mate or the cancel culture CK blind faithers will turn on ewe!

I know CK has been a little haphazard and inconsistent in his tweets and various communications in this whole process. His "funds" are slightly mysterious, but he clearly has plenty. He's a (questionably how much, we don't know ) wealthy man who's entering into the takeover as a vanity project.

I think Mike Ashley seriously underestimated him as a tyre-kicker and thought he wouldn't be able to get the deal over the line, and he could do what he's done a hundred times, and saunter in at the eleventh hour with the only offer in town.

MA got it wrong. Despite CK's amateurish PR, he clearly has the readies to get this far, hence the reported attempt by Ashley to share the deal late on.

I'm not enthused by either of them, but that's where Mel has left us. The last 2 players at the poker table are the flash boy and the bluffer. Maybe they're both bluffing.

It's looking like CK will - eventually - get it over the line, and if he does we'll all be grateful.

I only hope that we can just get back to supporting our great club again whilst living within our means.

Sadly, nothing is certain given how far we've fallen.

    Hopeful, but still rather wary.

Why is everyone dismissing Appleby, his bid Im sure is still on the table.

An update of some sort if this is not completed today would be the right thing yo do from Kirchner....

I think as each day passes tgis situation, looks more and more like, there was more left to do than fire the money around.

I suspect Mel and the stadium are behind the hold up though.....

I shouldn't wait up. From my Ford Money a/c, subset of Barclays Bank.

    Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday Changes

We’d like to remind you that over the Platinum Jubilee bank holidays, withdrawals will take longer to reach you. Any withdrawal request made after 2pm on Wednesday 1st June will be processed on the next business day (Monday 6th June), and arrive in your Nominated Account by close of business the following working day (Tuesday 7th June).

Business banking is different, money is moved through several businesses and banks all done in housing chains of upto a dozen sales and purchases.  Money can be forced around quickly.  This will have the attention of the solicitors dealing with the money to move it quickly to finalise the deal....

  12. 1 hour ago, Dai Capp said:

I suspect you could be right - whilst I'm hoping tomorrow, it could well be Tuesday or even Wednesday by the time the funds have cascaded all the way through the chain. I'd hope for some positive updates though to confirm the payments had started...

The manage to do completions on long housing chains in a day, this is a huge transaction going through so should get maximum attention.  If its not done tomorrow I would be very surprised.... That is of course we've been told the truth and its just the money going through the solicitors and not a last minute hitch with Mel moving the goalposts...

Why does anyone buy a football club? Might be vanity project or to get name involved in other sports. Or to eventually make the big money from premier league. Many are not very profitable in the lower leagues. I guess Derby County has potential because of a large fan base though. Ashley and minus 15 would be disastrous in my opinion. Well, mainly minus 15....league 2 would be a real prospect. Can't see that. Would rather not have Ashley if there is a choice and doesn't look like he will be buying DCFC anyway.

It was certainly a vanity project for our last owner.....

The ground is being bought by David Clowes as far as I know and the deal is done.
The overall deal is  waiting for bank money clearance that’s all.

CK will have a clause in the lease to eventually buy the ground I would imagine.

MM owned club and ground and lol where that got us .

Does it not concern you though that CK appears not to have the funds available to do this?  He's going ti struggle to fund us in the Championship if that's the case, unless he's going to bring a partner in later to help fund us...
