Comfortable 3-1 win in the end, we weren’t quite at it first half but were the better side and would have deserved a 1-0 lead…but for Ward’s rush of blood. Credit to Warne for bringing Wilson on, he made a big difference after the team started the second half slowly, goal and an assist probably make him man of the match ahead of the rock solid Nelson and blocking machine Cashin.
2 lovely goals either side of Wilson’s deft flick. Minutes for Elder, Thompson, TJJ is another plus. 
Up to third, one point off second (2 if Bolton win on Sat), 6 wins and a draw in the last 7….it’s not bad going really for me. 🐏

Shout out to Wilson too. Also excellent off the bench.

Pretty pedestrian so far...

We were bang average today and our game management was very poor, along with a slow tempo and not executing basic skills to a professional standard. But it’s 16 points from 18 so we can’t complain too much. The recruitment in the Jan Window is crucial to us gaining automatic promotion.

Christ, it doesn’t take long for this place to become toxic does it? Forgettable game that seems to have released excessive testosterone across keyboards far and wide. Grow up the lot of you, before I bang your heads together!
 
 
 

Very angry and frustrated tonight!! Genuinely thought we’d done it with a scrappy 1-0 when not at our best playing a team of anti-footballers, then the penalty, right in front of me, absolutely no way in my view, she looked at the Lino who didn’t give then pointed to the spot anyway. I agree with those saying it’s a 2023 penalty but I’d also say it’s one that VAR would give one week then not give it the next. It was extremely soft but then poor defending from Ward and not for the first time today. 
 
As for Rebecca Welch, this is the third time she’s reffed us. She was excellent the first time, good the second, horrendous today. Managed the game really poorly making a rod for her own back with those early nonsensical yellow cards for Sibley and Mendez-Laing. The Collins Leahy (who is a proper Bamford by the way) handbags could’ve avoided 2 bookings easily, there were two challenges after then on Derby players which were stonewall yellow cards not given, ironically when the crowd shouted you don’t know what you’re doing after the Bird yellow, that decision was spot on, it was the poor decisions prior that contributed to ruining the game. The only time she was consistent was booking vokes for the same offence as Sibley, which then left her a problem when he booted a Derby player in the face, she could’ve easily sent Vokes off for two bookings but that would’ve been a bad call IMO. Genuinely thought she was a class act but take it all back after today, she’s as useless as the usual rabble of officials we get week in week out at this level. Definitely no worse, we’ve had worse refs this season. 
 
Thought we tried to play today but the players weren’t quite at it. Wildsmith Cashin Ward Hourihane Sibley all below par. Ward I thought really struggled and I’m surprised he stayed on.
Still unbeaten in 6, we were never going to win 10-12 in a row which we would need to do to get the results we want over Christmas and New Year where maximum points will be really useful to us. A win on Thursday sets us up nicely for some tricky Christmas fixtures.

I was...until Crewe when I had a wobble. He's clawed me back onside; winning is all that really counts. I'd love some epic football though.

Was always pro-Warne and five league wins on the spin vindicates that.

Good to see that TJJ looks to be a good finisher, we have missed that. Also good to se Ward in action again and Birds calming influence on the pitch is always a joy to watch. 
Cashin had some really good long range passes to Wilson which I would like to see more often as well as Collins finding the net.
Good performance in what never really felt that competitive. Time to look at a trip to London. 

We just need @B4’s Sister to continue going to the games and starting the match threads and we'll be reet.

How about we use the matchday thread to discuss the match and take the other tedious debates over to other threads?

Has anyone got any stats on Club Football Forums - in particular the % number of negative posters on each site. I’d have a bet we were in the top quartile! Come on you positive posters, don’t let the negative ones spoil your enjoyment.

Possibly because they’ve taken a dislike to certain players and/or management (even hate with a passion in one case) and no matter what, to perpetuate that level of dislike, they have to go searching for any fact/statistic which might help to validate their point of view?

Thought it was a very similar game to Rovers, turgid first half where neither side showed any real quality and then we improved second and deserved it overall.
Still lacking in overall performance, but we can take comfort in 3pts.
I did miss the goal because I was in Port Vales delightful portaloos, but oh well.
NML, Wilson, Fornah were standouts for me, Collins and especially Hourihane had off days (Seriously Conor, can you beat the first man from a set piece?)

Nice to see Bradley’s reaction to Wilson defending our box well …run up to him and congratulated him …I like that …

I can't fathom it at all, especially as some of those screeching the worst are the same folk that told us all he would be a L1 cheat code. Way too many chip pissers out there too, though they are slightly less tedious.
Anyway, back on topic, loving looking at this:

It's tightening up at the top and if we win our next game we'll be the most in-form team in the division, with 5 wins from from our last 5 games. It's fair to say that we've still a bit to prove, but it still feels pretty sweet right now and a good window could see us right in the mix.
